    I just went through a series of YT reviews of the 5230. Yours is the best. Straight-forward, no silliness, good info and direct demo. Nice job. ,

    I picked up this guitar and a little 10 watt Vox tube amp. I get some very authentic tones, covering alot of styles. The whole thing came to about a thousand bucks.

      Well. well. and...you didn't even have to get Gibson involved in it too.

      @@squirelova1815 exactly. I'm thinking about getting a Epiphone LP Jr. With the single p90 The reviews are really good. It's less than 1/3 the cost of a Gibson.

      Tragically, I have always esteemed and trusted Epiphone QC more than Gibson's and I would far prefer to buy a Reverend or Schecter too; those two are virtually failsafe.@@aaronlarsen7447

    The moment he says „genuine Bigsby“ you read „Bigsby licensed“ on the screen. Still a good review and a dream guitar.

    What a sweet guy. I'd buy anything off him, lol. Love the sound of these. I've spent the evening looking for more low-cost Gretsch's with the Filter Trons on, and was shocked when I double checked the price of this model. Think I'm about to invest...

      I just bought one yesterday for the same reason (same finish as this one, too): Filter'Trons, Bigsby, and crazy price. I am very excited for it to be delivered and to play it.

      @@justjames1138 So, I got the guitar. It looks, feels, and sounds really nice and the frets feel pretty good. The finish is super classic 50's awesomeness. However, the setup was meh, the bridge saddles are making some buzzing noise, and the nut/bridge are binding a fair bit which causes some real noticeable tuning issues with the Bigsby. I'm going to do some work on it and maybe replace the bridge. I love how the guitar feels and sounds in context and I feel like it will be an ace workhorse guitar once I'm all done, but you should know that it may need a little love to get there (maybe more than just a basic setup); it wasn't there when I got it and it needs more than just a bridge height adjustment and intonation adjustment. If you are reasonably handy with guitars or have a guitar tech that you like (and are willing to put some time and a little extra money into it) it may still be worth it since the finishes did feel quite nice and the alternative is in a whole 'nother price bracket, but keep in mind that I did not get what I would consider a gig-ready instrument out of the starting gate. Good luck with your guitar collecting! ...and playing of course

    Just a minor nitpick, I believe these have licensed Bigsbys not actual Bigsbys.

    • @JellyrollHorton
      @JellyrollHorton 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, the diff I see between actual,and licensed is the arm is awkward and sticks up too far on the licensed. Otherwise they seem comparable in function.

      What's the difference? Altered design? Or identical to Bigsby original but by OEM made under licence in China or Indonesia?

      So what? Licensing agreements exist in NEARLY EVERYTHING. Do you think that a Coca-Cola isn't "real" if it doesn't come from the original bottling plant in Atlanta? Do you realize that EVERY SINGLE BOTTLER has a licensing agreement? If it isn't a counterfeit, and it says "Bigsby" - IT IS A BIGSBY. Don't be that way, man.

    You look like Bruce Dickinson if he hadn't made it as heavy metal singer. Nice review, nice guitar.

    At the start of playing the bridge pickup, the audio of your voice is gone (at least, from where I'm listening) it's back as soon as you switch h to the middle position.

    I bought one of these second hand and have a few questions: Should there be a plastic bushing underneath the spring? Also, what would be the proper way of removing the tremolo arm so it doesn't bump the top of the case when closed? Thanx for any help.

    It's really difficult to get these cheaper guitars with Bigsbys to stay in tune. If you buy a cheaper guitar like this I would get a hard tail. If you REALLY want a Bigsbys THAT STAYS IN TUNE WHEN YOU USA IT save up your money and buy a Duesenberg.
