I've just finished this course, and hands on heart, this was the best free online course I've ever taken, your way of explaining things is amazing, and you make sure that in 10-15 mins, you explain the most important things without wasting time, and you definitely know how to keep us engaged. Thx for everything and I will you all the best, I hope one day my portfolio will be in one or your "Good one" list :))
Just finished the Free Web Design Course and I whole-heartedly want to thank you! I really learned a lot and it was very exciting. So far, stick to it (after quitting other hobbies/side hustles like programming, etc.) and have watched the whole thing. I like that your professional style and that you also talk about the 'why' which many people tend to ignore :) Have a wonderful day!
I just binged the entire 19 episodes. Although my brain is about to explode ~ I feel good about what I learned. I appreciate your details and examples. I am a beginning beginner, but I gained some confidence to try. Thank you!
This was the video that changed the course of my life Ran, no joke! Ever since I watched this video, I've been all in with Webflow and web design! Thank you!🙌
Great course. I have experience in programming but I'm more of a back-end guy, so this is a great way to introduce me into the mindset of a designer. Finished it in 3 days about (2-3 hours per day). Would recommend.
Just completed your web design 101 course, RAN you are angel, i love your teaching skills you did an amazing job!! thank you so much it helps me a lot!! thank you!
Two years later, I am discovering this content and I am very happy with the quality of the courses. Really great and thanks for sharing. It is with pleasure that I subscribed. I will probably spend my time looking for solutions through your content for my next problems I will encounter during my design projects. Great job.
An important thing is where your clients come from. While webflow sites load fast in the USA and western Europe, the loading times, even for the first bytes are terrible in Russia, Asia and South America. Webflow would be the way to go for me, if they would provide an installable CMS including the editor to host it on your own server. I am sure people would pay a lot for this option.
I'm venturing into Brand Identity and Web Design. Just finished the course. Just want to say - thank you for this amazing, free, very engaging, and premium course. A huge asset indeed to my web design journey. Again, thank you to you and flux academy. This is great!!!
This series has absolutely been amazing. I'm not entirely new but definitely not a pro. I had been using Weebly, and was dealing with the limitations that comes with it, especially when trying to make websites accessible for disabilities. I started using Webflow, and it has absolutely made my life so much easier. Thanks for recommending it and thanks for making this series!
Thank you for this free course I barely know how to log on a computer and I'm 41 years old, but am going to school to get an AA degree and after watching I believe I can be a web designer. MY only concern now is, will WebFlow end up taking designers jobs in the future the more advanced it gets?
Would be an awesome series! Ran you are my favorite knowledge base in this space. Inspiring and clear teaching. Would love to see some sort of series whether it is a fake startup or real... Like start to finish... Would be even a good course to add to Flux? 😀
Such amazing course! Direct to the point and with valued information! I've always confused with what is webdesign and web development. I started years ago as a kid playing as a designer on Tumblr(blog) and I just realized I was developing. Thank you for the course, I feel able to start a few projects now.
Wow this was amazing, like literally all my questions were answered, i never thought that i can see a web design course like this one. I am a fullstack developer but and wanted to learn about web design cause i usually see lots of beautiful websites out there and wonder how the hell created this? so i was inspired by those and wanted to get into it. Now I am going to look for a course or tutorial to learn, penpot, gimp and inscape to kickstart my career as a web designer, thanks man i really appreciate.
I have never devoted my time to watch as much video in a page before But this has helped me I just finished the course and I have learnt many things But I'm still not clear with course 15 any help Although his teachings are so easy to learn from Thank you very much
You've done an absolutely amazing job and the course has been just super useful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for all the work you've put in this course!
In our agency we used both, webflow & Elementor, and I can say that the Elementor was so much better, faster & cheaper. Our clients can customize their websites very easily, and the websites are really quick, I don't see a reason, why we would ever switch to Webflow..😄
Kerim Al-Lami and considering it’s learning curve, the only reason I see why you would switch is if you don’t know how to optimize your sites performance
Thank you for recommending Webflow! I have coded a little before but not to the point I can say I'm actually fluent in it, though enough to understand how it works, how to think, so this solution seems perfect. Will be using this to make my portfolio page.
Webflow it's amazing. I've been playing with it for maybe a year and I love it. Thanks to you Ran :) I even named my own company here in Thailand Webflux. WordPress it's very frustrating to work with cuz of u need a plug-in for everything and at the end the website will be slow and with difficult maintenance. Wix like u said it's for dummies, totally agree 😂😂
Good day sir. God greatly bless you for this free web design classes you sharing. I greatly appreciate sir. pls sir, how can i get the next video on this series bc its not in the play list for download
I use WordPress purely as a back-end which I build everything custom on top of it for the front-end and custom functionality. Have tried numerous builders for WordPress as well as stand alone products and find them all very finicky and frustrating to use. Have a finer level of control with coding everything I feel, personally.
I like the idea of using something like webflow but don't want to be stuck using their hosting. What would you recommend to use that is hosting independent? Meaning I export and set it up on whatever host i want.
The bigest problem I have with webflow is very high price for webhosting. I'm rookie webdesigner and I build websites only for individuals or very small companies that don't want to pay 20$ monthly for website. So I'm forced to use wordpress even that I rly hate it.
Do you think Wordpress worth to learn for next 3-5years? I’m a graphic designer who want to learn new skills..still not sure which one I should jump into it..
First of all thanks for all the content and video you are publishing. Have followed your channel for a couple of years, and learn a lot. I realy injoy working ind webflow. But after trying the new morden jamstack way to build website on. I have shift over to that. Special netlify, 11ty, takeshape and gridsome. However it is code yourself, but WAY better and easier than wordpress.
Elementor should be on par with web-flow, it allows easy building, but still, it is on WP which allows heavy custom coding, and many plugins are made for wp from third-party companies and 90% of clients will require some integration. 99% of mid-sized companies won't pay extra for real custom code. WordPress+ elementor is the meta in my case and in my country. In the US even a well designed wix site can be quite functional. (our payment methods, delivery services, tax services are not compatible most of the time)
Thank you for this series. I've been watching it over the past few days and it cleared up a few things and added a few super helpful ideas. However, this video makes me warry about everything you said in the previous 19 videos in the series (btw, you still haven't fixed the playlist issue around episode 16 when you reference responsiveness but the video you reference isn't part of the playlist). Back to the present. I didn't look into web design before and I took your information at face value. It seemed interesting and it made sense. But I did look into hosting and CMS because I needed to create a few basic websites (more like landing pages really). And your comments about wordpress don't sound well researched at all. You don't seem to know the word "theme". Maybe you used "plugin" because it's a term people know. The trouble with that assumption is that this is an educational video for beginners. Teaching them (us) the wrong terminology now has a greater impact than on people who know more. I was first worried this course might not be as great as it seemed when you didn't mention the Affinity suite as an alternative to Photoshop. Now you didn't mention the Divi theme, just webflow (which I hadn't even heard of before) and Elementor. I get it that you can't know everything. I get it this is a free course. But your original statement was that you wanted to create a great web design course. If you chose to include something in it that wasn't in your wheelhouse, you might have done some unbiased research first. The trouble with all this, for me, is that now I wonder how much of the other videos, dealing with matters I knew nothing about, is good information. I guess I'll have to go against my brain's desire to find a shortcut and do some more research myself. Web design isn't and won't be a core competence for me. I had hoped that your series of videos was all I needed. Thank you for the time you took to create these videos. I think it's a great starting point. And it's very generous of you to share your experience and to show us some of your processes.
I would also recommend the Oxygen builder for WordPress. @Ran, you might want to check out some videos of it, since it tries to be like Webflow for WordPress. Might interest you.
Would you agree that Webflow is more suitable for designing websites with mainly an informative character, while Wordpress can be used for complex technical websites like online-shops, membership platforms or platforms that require a complex database and a user login, etc.?
hey man I already mentioned about Oxygen builder in your last video. Go and try Oxygen builder instead of wasting time on editor X. It's almost Webflow accept the interaction which is coming soon + all greatness of WP.
I have been using Wordpress.com for 10 years. So far I have never ever experienced a security issue, either a net failure. I love your content but I think this video in particular is a bit misleading. And btw Wordpress is also a great building tool 🙏🏽

@@reesericdotci See? Because you aren't specific we've been pointing to different things all along. Anyway, your statement sounded like you mean WP and OSS are one and the same. You can only get optimized result from a coded website. For CMS, you can use headless CMSes.

Definitely WIX!
editor x is pretty exciting for me.....looks like it's pretty much the same thing as webflow.
No, SS has a ton of functionality and flexibility when you add a bit of coding to the mix in SS. It should be further up on the spectrum.
thanks
Is Dreamweaver still relevant in 2020?
Webflow
Wordpress covers 30% of internet not 80.
What about TILDA ? :)
WIX is the best platform for WEB DESIGN

You must check Oxygen page builder it’s to much customize you can do it,i am really love webflow but it’s to much cost i was build my client website webflow it awesome,
hey Ran, you should try webwave.me , im very curious about your opinion cause I work there as frontend developer 🙂

ReadyMag produces atrocious code quality.
