The last time I saw Pinafore was the DOyly Carte's production 1978 in Boston. When this was sung the first time at the end of the song the audience gave a prolong burst of appluse, which took the company and conductor by surprise, as this never happens. When the company sang this at the end of Act II finale, all hell broke loose in the theater. It was amazing... Thank D'Oyly Carte,

This was the best song of the play.. I sang that many years ago at my high School play, wish it sounded as good at this but I was only 18 and that was over 50 years ago. lol but you know I still remember that song and that day. What fun it was doing this play and the parties after. What a good memory this is.

Fun fact! In the film version of Pinafore, after the singer says "Italian," he says "mama Mia" in a hilariously high-pitched voice. One of the funniest parts of the opera as a whole
The lyrics at the final part are not quite correct, must of the cast are not singin "for in spite of all temptetions,,," but "for he himself has said it...". Any ways, i'm really glad for yu to upload this, it really is a great song!
