    Man! How I wish I could just do one little trip with you oaks. Those tires are just fenominal on both vehicles, and it just goes to show what difference a good set of rubber makes to a vehicle's capability! But again, these both are two offroad tanks! Day before yesterday I took my old 4x4 for a crawl into the mountains of the Western Cape, and there is just not a lot that can beat this outdoor freedoms and adventures! Onother good one boys, and best to you from Worcester in South Africa! I'm sighning off.... Thanks for yet another great video. I just love them!

      Great to hear that. Lockers just add so much go forward and really let you gain a ton of control without the need for lots of momentum.

    Great vid, l know the Land Rovers are geared low, in low range were both vehicles running reduction gears? If so what %?
    Looking at installing reduction gears in my GU can’t decide between 63%/85%

    • @offroad4x462
      @offroad4x462 4 роки тому +1

      No reductions in the 80. But if you were to go reductions in patol id go to 85% for better crawl as rhe patrols are not as low from factory. I think it was rpughly 15% reduction in cruiser equals to 85% reduction in a patrol.

    Wat tyres 35 trepador?

    • @lror
      @lror  4 роки тому +1

      Yes both are 35 treps, the 80 series is running the hard compound bias ply version while the Land Rover is running the radial version.

    wow, perfect timing for this video! After a lot of thought I have pretty much decided on getting the trep radial 35/12.5r16 this winter. At first I was looking at the bias ply, but after talking with a few people including techs at both Maxxis and Interco I gave up on that idea. They were telling me that there would be a good possibility that due to extreme cold the bias tires could crack or get damaged. If you or anyone has experience with bias ply tires in minus 20 Celsius and colder please leave a comment below.(not for daily driving use and I would not use it much in the winter and do not want to get other tires for the winter) I was also thinking about the Irok radials from Interco but they are not available for 16 inch rims in 35s. Originally also want 37s but I am scared of being stopped , getting a ticket or worse sent for an inspection! I would love any comments on the trep radial tires or any other comparable tires available in 35/12.5r16. Thanks...oh yea GREAT VIDEO!

      Imo and the video may not show that clearly the bias ply are better performers than radials and have those big aggressive side bitters. Unfortunately none of us have experience with -20° but its well known that bias tyres dont like the cold. I would think though that's regarding storage as they would warm up fast when rolling around in use. Having said that the radials perform really well too.

      @@lror trust me you dont really want to experience minus 20 degrees!!! I am familar with the bias treps. I would
      love to be able to get them . When I need to replace the radial tires in the future, I will be in a position to get the bias and use the older radials on my disco in the winter... If i really wanted to run my vehicle legally in winter in my part of Canada i would either need real snow tires or bf goodrich k02. If I had a place to store my vehicle indoors then it would be a different story.

      @@4x4adventurecanada10 i did experience a minus 37° winter in the very place you're getting your axles from back in 2006 but not wheeling unfortunately.

    So what's the conclusion, your final verdict?? What do you reckon?? Bias or Radials??
    The bias ply seem too stiff..... Or are they??

    • @offroad4x462
      @offroad4x462 4 роки тому +1

      My bias are still new. And working put pressures what work. I think i was at around 10psi. Next time im out im dropping lower maybe 6psi.
