5 years later this is still one of the most beautiful and heartfelt videos of this life-changing catastrophe I have seen. You captured the heart and soul of one of the most devastating and life changing experiences of our lives. Thank you. ❤
Wow, Christian, I'm sitting here in a pool of tears. Beautifully put together and this struck me in a way that so many pictures can't do. Last night, I hosted a fund raiser in Minnetonka, MN. Most of the people who came didn't even know that St. John was part of the United States. I had pictures up from pre and post hurricane to encourage people to donate. I wish I'd have had this video running. People asked me if I lived on the island or why I had chosen to raise money for St John Rescue. I simply said, "The first time I arrived on St. John, I had a spiritual moment." That moment is one I will never forget, it will be in my heart forever, just like this island. Love to you. I hope you are recovering from your gunshot wound. Thanks for posting!
Thank you Lisa, I'm glad to hear you were moved by it, it was tough to put together while living through the aftermath. With all that has gone on, it seems little St John is barely on the map next to all the other disasters that have been happening. Thank you for the support and thanks again for your comment :)
Great work, Christian. Watching these two locals, listening to their nervous cadence while expecting one of them to break as they recall backs and legs bracing against vicious winds in a bathroom gives us a chance to experience what these two survivors witnessed and feel the love they have for St. John and it's people. The before and afters really bring this storm season into a reality. Its got to be heartbreaking to see these Islands in this condition. Be it as it may, I still am working on relocating down there!
This still brings tears to my eye's Thank God Kenny Song For The Saint's Tour is giving back to Island's that he calls home and his Island's family that he love's with all his Heart ""
So emotional I'm a resident of STT USVI OMGGG WE SURVIVED BUT I FEEL FOR SO MANY AROUND THE VIRGIN ISLANDS HOUSES STILL WITHOUT ROOFS AND SO MANY LEFT BECAUSE DEPRESSION ME MYSELF SHED TEARS WHEN I CAME OUT NEXT MORNING FOR WHERE I SAW HOUSES RIPE FROM ROOF TO NOTHING LEFT I HAVE SO MUCH VIDEO'S BEFORE AND AFTER HAS I WATCH STJ MEMORIES IT HIT ME AGAIN TEARS
Watching this made me cry. She’s right! Many of us leave after something like this and we don’t move back. Despite saying we will. My kids and I lived on St Thomas. ❤ we finally went back to visit last summer. It was much needed. We’ve missed the island family we made
Christian, thank you for making this...is there any way you can post the video with the Placebo music tune lower, so I can hear my daughter, Joie clearer? thank you so much !!
@@ChristianWheatley What part of the Island is your favorite and please tell my your favorite beach to make sure I see it when I come in April? We're staying in Coral Bay. Or is there somewhere that shouldn't be over looked...thank you.
Whats up! Great piece of content! I was curious if I could play this in a live stream tomorrow to my viewers here on UA-cam I will give credit to you and put a link to your channel in my description?
Thanks, not sure how that works exactly? You can link or share it however you want, I wouldn't be able to give you the footage to upload, or stream if that is what you are asking?
I would play it live and do a screen capture. just play it in the middle of my stream. Just to show my views a little bit of an example of our experience. good work.

I've remixed a second version to bring out the dialogue a little more ua-cam.com/video/Q3oRkFMt2Qs/v-deo.html
Great and heartbreaking video editing, but the music is so loud that I can't hear what the people are saying.
Hi, I've remixed the audio to bring out the dialogue a little more, new version here ua-cam.com/video/Q3oRkFMt2Qs/v-deo.html

That was hard to watch...I'm sobbing over that one!
Yes, it was tragic, all our lives changed that day. Luckily 2 years later we are in pretty good shape, but at the time..wow, devastated.
