They actually adapted the Lord Death Man story in an episode of Batman the Brave & the Bold. You should check it out, it's ridiculously accurate to Kuwata's style!
Ah that's cool to hear, never saw it in full but I did really enjoy Brave and the Bold as a kid
@@MrFalconnpunch Do you think you could review some manhwa pornhwa like Should I study at Noryangjin, Water Overflow, She Is Working Out, and Living with a Milf
All Might cameo is on par with Yugi's in Bobobo. 😆
A bit off topic, but it looks like the Devilman Saga scanlations have been put on indefinite hiatus. The guy working on it has been too busy with his personal life, but in a good way.
@@harlannguyen4048 Good for him. I'm sure someone else will end up covering it someday. If not, it'd be nice if it could get licensed.
@@THEAnimeHERO They'll have to adapt Devilman Lady first.
the 70s spiderman was crazy, I heard a humor that Stan Lee requested it to be canceled cause of how dark it was getting
I like how it turns into Gantz one chapter with the guy shooting all those people. The societal commentary is accurate, the themes are relatable, and the main character is better than almost all "deconstruction" superheroes. The author isn't a nobody either, but wrote Crying Freeman and Lady Snowblood. Although it starts out weak, I'd say that this is one of a great and noble classic.
the alfred resurrection happened in the american comic and is kinda referenced in the batman metal storyline
Honestly Batman: Child of Dreams and Batman: Death Mask are my all time favorite Batman books and they are both mangas.
I absolutely love videos like this.
In American comics there is a little bit more to Alfred becoming the outsider.
Incredibely neat
Correction: Lord Death Man actually appeared in a previous Batman comic, though he was just called Death Man at the time. The entire story is even an adaptation of it.
Ah that is cool to hear
Batman: Child of Dreams is drawn by Kia Asamiya, the creator of Silent Mobius which is not bad since basically, it's Batman travelling to Japan.
I can't wait for you to talk about the Rise of Ultraman by Marvel comics which I enjoyed despite a slow start and the cliffhanger at the end of the 2nd mini-series- Trial of Ultraman makes me want to know what happens next.
I'm a big fan of Spawn and it's okay if you didn't like the series. It's not for everyone.
I watched that episode of Batman the brave and the bold titled Bat-Mite Presents:Batman’s strangest cases(Bat-Manga).
Wow. A bunch of manga based on superhero’s and only like 3 of them are good
I wish they make a anime adaptation of Batman and the justice league that will be way nice
the goat Ryoichi Ikegami drew the spider man manga
also have you read Faust: Love Of The Damned ? you might like it... tho it kinda has the same problems as spawn but more nasty
0:46 What, they didn't want to adapt Aquaman?
I've read one operation joker and it was pretty good I wish another translation team picks it up sadly
I genuinely hate the fact that that one Superman series about him going around extoling the virtues of Japanese cuisine hasn't been translated. It's one of the things I've wanted to read the most over the past few years. I mean, as soon as you hear about that concept, how can you _not_ want to read it!?
Also, at 19:00 there, did _Shadow of Spawn_ literally end with some bad guy(?) saying, "Now that's what you call a shadow of Spawn?" Like a, "The real ____ were the friends we made along the way" meme kind of thing? That's amazing!
This was a fascinating little video to watch. I'm aware of a bunch of these - heck, I have the "Batman and the Justice League" ones - but it's always great to learn about more. It's just a fascinating thing. I mean, _the reverse_ almost never happens. Outside of some western Captain Harlock stuff by Eternity Comics and Adam Warren's Dirty Pair, I sure as heck can't think of Japanese creators having westerners handle their brands. That's why I'm always entertained by these sorts of efforts... yes, including the infamous Marvel Mangaverse nonsense from back in the day, lol. The idea of filtering these heroes and mythologies through a different lens is always going to be interesting to me.
Looking forward to your next video! I'm reading Radiant Black right now, actually, so other Toku-inspired heroes are gonna be fun to learn about!
Yeah I want to read that Superman manga so bad, even the original one too I wouldn't mind reading. It was a very fun video to make as a long time of alot of these characters it's always fun to see more new interpretations of them.
Also a surprising amount of toku-inspried comics coming, especially with the upcoming Supermassive shared universe just consisting of toku-like heroes
19:06 I do not see the problem.
It's really great how japanese artists interpret american heroes, love me some mvc designs
Still bummed that recent Batman manga where he uses a mechanized suit isn’t translated :(
(Batman: Justice Buster)
Ah yeah there is alot of unique ones out there that seem really cool-and honestly amazed that they either haven't been localized or at least fan translated
Japanese artist don't insert "Woke" shits on their works so you could only expect pure entertainment on them. And that is a good thing.
