@@aaallleeexx22 Yeah, some Elites struggled with the RROD. The only fat model 360s that didn't struggle with it are the ones with the Jasper motherboard, which some Elite models have.
Great video, however I'm slightly disappointed they didn't completely go in depth to how they fixed the console in the future to cause the red ring to happen less often. What they did was create smaller and less power-hungry chips for the CPU, GPU and RAM.
I remember when "Project Natal" was first shown off and my brother in law showed me, and it blew my mind!!!! Then there was this other demo with Peter Molyneux with this little boy, and whatever you did in the real world would translate into the demo, and the boy recognized the color and what was drawn. Turned out to be complete vaporware lol
I still remember my older brother getting the red ring twice. Those were the times I learned that my brother could somehow contain an anger never seen before.

I had two 360s that died on me. One was towel wrapped many times back to life. On the 2nd one they had already instituted the extended warranty so I sent it off for repair. Still an Xbox guy for the feel of the controller.
I met one of my best friends on Xbox 360 and we spent countless nights staying up and playing Call Of Duty. He lived about 3 hours away from me and I always wanted to go and meet him but never found the time. About 4 years ago two men broke into his house and shot him while he was asleep in his bed. I still regret not being able to go and meet him, but I know he's still here watching with me watching every game I play and I'll never forget the moments Xbox allowed us to make together. 😢 RIP Bailey

I remember when I my dad got my Xbox 360 for my birthday, and waking up on Saturday morning and getting the red ring and crying when my dad walked in my room all worried. I still think about while sleeping at night sometimes.
Yo fui parte de esa historia con el "Anillo rojo de la muerte". Excelente servicio con UPS y la sustitución de mi consola por una nueva. Gracias por pensar en el usuario.
I'm glad I made the decision to wait on an Xbox 360 purchase. Got the Elite model and never had the Red Ring issue, so I was one of the few to just never experience it.
elite model had the rrod too
@@aaallleeexx22 Yeah, some Elites struggled with the RROD. The only fat model 360s that didn't struggle with it are the ones with the Jasper motherboard, which some Elite models have.
I never ran into the RROD and that was after long gaming sessions and nights of forgetting to turn off the console
Great video, however I'm slightly disappointed they didn't completely go in depth to how they fixed the console in the future to cause the red ring to happen less often.
What they did was create smaller and less power-hungry chips for the CPU, GPU and RAM.
My older brother still has his original launch console and it still works to this day. I got the red ring one time while playing GTA4.
It was Peter Molyneux not suprised it was canned
Milo demo was really impressive, but yeah nothing came out of it
Wasn't that demo actually fake as well?
@@Razgriz_01 Indeed it was. It was all vaporware
@@gtotheunit91 from what I know, yes
First time watching this series. Way to go Xbox for being honest and sharing all these crazy details. I love this. Here for more.
I still remember my older brother getting the red ring twice. Those were the times I learned that my brother could somehow contain an anger never seen before.
They handled this well, I remember having the red ring I was so bummed
It’s a shame Kinect Failed. I’m glad the technology was able to be used to help progress other fields
I still have my connect. The carnival game, that one sports game I forgot the name of and the Disneyland game were all great memories of my Xbox days.
I really liked the 360 and xbox one kinect for voice commands
The kinect was probably some of my favourite moments on the xbox. I still have mine and played Kinect Sports Season 2 on it yesterday.
Fruit ninja lol
Mine had this problem so I pulled all the cables out and put them back in and it worked it did this like 6 times.
Ahhhh, that gears of war moment of the video just hit me so hard.... I got chills all over my body and tears welling up in my eyes. I never got the chance to play it at launch, *cause I was 4* but knowing how much it influenced the industry just, ahhh, makes me cry.
Props to Microsoft for releasing these well produced documentaries just please don't copy strike the guy that has been creating and uploading similar documentaries as these for the past couple months

I just wanted to thank you for not giving up on us, and I will never give up on you, I’ve had the Xbox, the 360, 360 slim, one and I got the series x now and I can only say thank you for creating so many memories for me and my friends and for still continuing to deliver amazing memories, Xbox for life !!!!
I was looking for how they fixed it, exactly. Sadly, in this documentary they just said "we fixed it" then moved on.
The search continues.
This whole documentary was top notch and entertaining.
Except episode 6 where they literally sugar coat xbox one era and spend 20 minutes before mentioning Gamepass and $70 games. Which to me indicates why this series was even put out.
@@cheeks3211 good point
The gears of war 1 theme gave me goosebumps! That's definitely one of the best games I have ever played
Especially fighting the Berserker for the first time.
Best franchise in gaming industry.
Perfect commercial
I almost quit when that berserker was eating me for lunch
Dude i remember sitting in middle school just waiting to get home to play gears of war!
Ive had mine for 12 years. Still works well. Had the red ring once and lost all my data which was annoying but i vaccumed all the dust inside and it was fine.
Ah this makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I've had every single Xbox except the new series x and s. I've had my Xbox live account for over 10 years now and plan to have it for decades more 💚
Even tho i had all the Xbox’s. Gears of war sold me on Xbox as my gaming console 15 years ago and I’ve never looked back since. Gears will forever be apart of my gaming rotation.
Never had an xbox but the engineering problems at this massive economies of scale are really interesting, kudos to these engineers for making these complicated decisions
I had two 360s that died on me. One was towel wrapped many times back to life. On the 2nd one they had already instituted the extended warranty so I sent it off for repair. Still an Xbox guy for the feel of the controller.
_"Back then consoles didn't launch at those kinds of price points"_
Someone wasn't around for the launch of Neo Geo and 3DO.
“Back then successful consoles didn’t launch at that price point” there I fixed it
I met one of my best friends on Xbox 360 and we spent countless nights staying up and playing Call Of Duty.

How did you figure out that happened to them?
@@Duckbusinessman through searching his ig =(
I got red ring on my first 360, had to repair myself. Ended up repairing and reselling them to friends. I do still genuinely miss the original Xbox controller!
How did you repair them?
@@cyrollan Replacing thermal paste, dusting the whole system and using multiple plastic washers on the retaining clip (X) for the heatsink mount.
Produce mucho respeto reconocer los grandes errores. Afortunadamente el momento actual refleja que se ha aprendido de ellos.
Major kudos to Microsoft for their transparency throughout this great documentary.

It's so nice that they don't just sweep it under the rug but instead document it. Good job, Xbox and everyone associated.
Thank you for the hard work and large parts of lives that went into our childhood consoles. I bought one right after the large console fix. I’ve always been so grateful for Xbox and the community that really saved me.
The Xbox 360 era was the best era for gaming, period. Even with the RROD.
Definitely not. You must be have been born in the late 90's 😂. Hands down the BEST era in gaming was the early 90's... Video game rental spots... Video game arcades.. It was the REAL golden age of gaming. Beyond magical. It's not even debatable.
