The Us and Russia lost a war against the Afghan people. So, to say we the people don't have a chance is not a realistic stance. Agreed that most people will just to their knees and cow down to the federal tyranny. Some of us don't kneel except to pray and we will not comply. It took the Afghan people 20 years to toss us out...There are lessons their to use.

He's right -- it wasn't till the present era that I finally fully grasped what Patrick Henry meant by "Give me liberty or give me death". I have a much more round about but more subtley pointed way of saying it -- Those arrested by tyranny value their lives and property more than their freedom.

Great conversation. We must all fight the good fight of good vs evil and there are many of us who are ready willing and able to fight in any way shape or fashion including to the death to insure freedom and hope for those that are unable or unwilling to.

It occured to me while listening to this interview that history and wars have been a reflection of human nature but it never had the today's super charged technology driving it. Human nature isn't built to withstand the speed and power today's technology grants us.

It's not about being 'positive' or 'negative' - it's all about recognizing and facing reality. Positive or negative has us way behind the curve, and always responsive. Time to finally recognize what is actually going on, and responding proactively.
I would much rather we had conversations about what is realistic instead of what is moral. Both sides seem to be trapped by thinking that they're taking the moral high road. All of this looks like it's a religious war to me.

I've been studying history since I was 18 in high school and I never gave it up, and I can tell you, 30 years later, we are where France was about a year before the Revolution. We're at France in 1788. Between 1715 and 1789 France had a massive population increase, from 20 to 28 million people and 80% of that were peasants. France had an economic recession that began in 1785 and then massive crop failures in 1787 and 1788 created inflation and the price of food skyrocketed (sound familiar?). The whole Marie Antoinette "Let them eat cake." quote came from the fact that there was no bread for the people to eat because the wheat crops had failed. France in 1788 was also drowning in debt mostly because of their involvement in foreign wars, they practically bankrolled the American Revolution after the British defeat at the Battle of Saratoga in 1777 showed them that the British could be beaten and the French smelled an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. France also ended up having their revolution because the ruling class was totally out of touch with the people. The King, Marie Antoinette, the nobility and the church, which in France benefited greatly from the nobility, had no interest in the plight of the poor and had no interest in fixing the problem. Louis XVI once showing an interest in trying to reform things to make life better for the people, but was met with opposition from the nobility so he backed down. Finally, the people had enough. Also, despite what your history books in school said, the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 (French Independence Day) was NOT to release political prisoners. It was because there were cannons and powder at the armory. There were only 6 prisoners at the Bastille and the prison was condemned anyway. Again, we're at about the same place in history as France is right before their Revolution.
