Hello Cryptonites! Hope you enjoy this perfectly "fowl" story from 1934 by L.A. Lewis, wonderful author of "Lost Keep" and "The Meerschaum Pipe", found in his aptly titled "Tales of the Grotesque". CONTENT ADVICE: 🦃 Disturbing scenes 📢 A loud noise.

I noticed the similarity between the stories too. And there is actually a sort of connection between L.A. Lewis and John Metcalfe as I understand...

Nevermind, take care, Monsieur L'Estrange, great story.

@@EnCryptedHorror I'll probably get hate for this, but I thought it was more about the alphabet soup group.
That mental anguish is no joke; it's a bane of my existence from child abuse. I feel terrible for anyone who suffers it.
Be blessed, stay blessed, and I look forward to another treat from you ✨️.

An interesting story, that was brought vividly to weird life by a narration that came with the measured pacing and tone of a Charles Gray, spookily delightful stuff.

@@petere5826 Yes, I see that similarity too. There are a few other stories too I've done that follow the same format of characters meeting at key points in their lives. It's a style I like.

Perfectly timed, per usual. The day has finally cooled with an evening shower and I am headed upstairs for a nap. So, I can sink deep into the cool sheets as the rain patters down over my head and drift off on the dulcet tones of your soothing voice and a dream that’s only vaguely unsettling in the most cozily detached, mysterious way… Sweet dreams everyone!

I knew I hated a white leghorn rooster we had when I was 14 for a reason!
He was one big, vicious bird who used to flog my poor horse's rump as she dozed in the shade and spured me through a riding boot badly enough to need two lauers of stitches. He managed to cut into the periosteum between the muscle fascia and my ankle bone in one swipe of his spur.
The ER doc was surprised at how the injury occurred as he was unaware of how fast, strong and determined a "mere" chicken could be.
That rooster would also fly at my face from the rafters of our barn.
I'd never been able to catch him to clip his wings for two years. When I finally had him I took him to a neighbor who had bantams and wanted ours for a sparring partner.
I was prepared to behead him but Ma said no.
I was told he earned his keep. 😅

It's not a good idea to underestimate the nature of birds of this particular posture, they're really just small Velociraptors with more feathers. 🦖
