Don't let anyone ever tell you that you cant be a witch
Love you for this

100 likes. Witch, Wizard, Warlock. You be you brother!
Or a Druid
Did I just hear him call chamomile -shimamolay??😂😂😂😂
that's funny
Yep, it's a running joke on the channel.
thats gonna do my head in
@Etianen7 guess I had missed it 😄
Kevin even has Laura from Garden Answer saying shamomalay 😂
@@conniesanrn2730 that's funny!
I love the soil side-by-sides you’re doing with the peppers and can’t wait to see the details. I can imagine a new gardener who is struggling with their plants may see the results of things like that and realize that it’s not THEM. So much can impact a plant, especially an annual vegetable.
Kevin the Sauce-witcher 😆
I had promised to can up my daughter's tomatoes last fall and she kept forgetting to bring them down here. Last weekend she remembered and I now have 27 pints of her sauce...🙄 And she has a cleared chest freezer. And my 24 tomato plants are in flower....😅
The burden of abundance 😅
Cha-mom-ole’ gets me every time 🤣
It was funny the first dozen times but I'm over it now
@@eviltomthai chamommalay
i cant wait until you guys show us the results of the experiments!!! LOVE that!
I'm with you on the compost finally being ready. My garden is much smaller, so it took about two years for me to get a full bin. I was finally able to use my own compost this year for all my beds. It feels really good to have a full bin of compost at my disposal.
I have ryegrass that pops up fast in the spring. It makes a decent amount of biomass in a small space if you let grow til may. I use Amaranth in the summer and that makes a lot more
Ohhhh… cha-mah-moe-lay…… makes me giggle every single time.
please do a halloween episode when u can your tomato sauce in the cauldron! and please dress as a witch or warlock 😂
Thank you, Kevin. Looking forward to the results of all the experiments. 😊
"We harvested a ton, a TON, of beets. Over 100 lbs." LOL
The Garden Witch was within you all along. 🎃
I LOVE the experiments you run in your garden ❤ that’s a huge part of gardenening for all of us I think but the way you go about it is SO APPRECIATED! I have the means to do a few small scale experiments so thank you for doing the “doozy” level ones haha ❤❤❤❤
Greetings from the Netherlands ... last year i tried tomatos as "harvest" crops for the first time (not like before with only a plant or 2).... i had 11 plants..
this year im much sooner + i already have 21 plants, 8 of them so far.... (MORE on the way!!) are San marzanos.... when im done ... i will have 35 tomato plants ...13 san marzanos
my wife is excited...as well as fightened ;) alot of work for her in the future if i get a good crop ;)
Dutch too, got our first tomato flowers! (i started in february inside lol) could be a san marzano but i lost the labels 😂 i think I have about 15 plants (had 3 last year but started late and lost 2/3 to blight before harvest) have fun with the harvest!
I've been harvesting my sauce tomatoes for two weeks, here on the Texas Gulf Coast. Today I'm making sauce. I grew San Marzano and Amish Paste for the first time and they are doing great! Eight varieties of peppers are growing well, harvesting now. I harvested potatoes last week. Here it's getting very hot already and the bugs are bad this year. I really enjoy seeing your wonderful garden.
I still have to plant my sauce tomatoes still have much to Learn, since this is my first year of gardening. Your vids always help out a TON! So thank you.
I would love to see another book in a few years about all of your garden experiments.
3 seconds in you got the like from me simply because of the laugh😂😂😂😂
Hahahah
@@epichomesteading hey I finally got things in the ground here in 7B! Got corn, cukes and beans all popping up! Oh and pumpkins!
I love the test gardens! They are one of my favorite things you do!
I wish I had help in my garden .. solo gardeners unite
Hey Kevin! I love your idea to test out different growing methods for various veggies. I’m very interested in knowing the results of your soil experiment the most. Did you also try to top a pepper plant versus not topping?
I did 6 jars of crushed tomatoes last year. Sauce and crushed tomatoes are the goal this year. Roma tomatoes and Hungarian hearts for sauce and I’ll use my Cherokee purple tomatoes for crushed tomatoes. I’m on the lookout for 2 12qt stock pots for canning. If I could find a huge cauldron, I’d definitely use that instead.
Your videos are always so enjoyable. You keep me inspired. Garden on, Sauce Witch/Warlock.
I got 5 Roma Tomato seedlings waiting to go out in zone 5b 😃 Can't wait to see the results!
Good luck!
Goodness I want to plant my garden. Life hasn't been nice so zero time dealing with ill family member stage 4. I just know this season there are more important things to deal with. Will watch you all growing in envy this year. All my plants have ended up compost but its ok will use when season is right.
Kevin, idk if you play video games at all, but the game Hades 2 just came out and the main character in that is a WITCH who GARDENS (and forages, and fishes, and uh, mines) her own potion ingredients, y'know in between beating up underworld monsters etc. I say live your best life, manifest witchy vibes, and never let a silly little thing like gender get in the way.
OK downloading ASAP
Lucky guy getting a good deal on beets. Wish that was my sack being filled!
Never seen a YTer grow the marzano either. They're very cool
I have a great idea! You guys should try growing some edible plants grown in the water, like Lotus Root, Water Chestnut or Lily Root inside of the pond. I'm sure there's more options and even if you don't end up eating it, it'll be a great project!
Turn that Bermuda into the Epic Meadow with some CA Native Plants!
Clover is a tough warrior against grass, even Bermuda- We threw some seed down last year and our yard is nearly half clover this year- the grass is having trouble taking over again. Also, clover is easier to maintain, drought resistant etc, and just looks pretty- maybe it'll help you with your grass if you don't want it.
I enjoy testing all the methods. Even if I've already arrived at a conclusion I still help myself from running the same tests again.
also with the garlic. me and everyone in my garden group had their garlic ready in May. I don't know why they are early, but I had some monster garlic. bumper crop for sure!
I have planted a bunch of sauce tomatoes this year. I was gifted some Roma VF seeds. Its a san marzano hybrid. First time Im trying a determinant variety. Exited to taste them!
You have a lot of videos talking about your irrigation lines but do you have one talking about your controller and the app you have to control each zone? I would love to learn more about automation for watering since I live in a dryer climate but work a schedule where I can't water my plants until afternoon because of meetings and would love to get every raised bed on a schedule.
I'm still waiting for the weather to settle. 40mph winds,, 40°F with thunderstorms today. Not planting today, unfortunately.
Happy Tuesday Garden Guy.
Great video Kevin! I'm growing a sauce garden as well! Also, thanks to you....I have a 2 bin system for now but I'm getting the hang of it (thanks to your videos). 😊
Love to hear it!
Loquat Tax
California Test Garden! I love it! I’m here for it! Just north of Sacramento.
So excited for all your experiments!
I planted more sauce tomatoes, than I ever have, this year. Want to make a bunch of roasted marinara.
I love these vlogs! Thank you!
I had a San marzano seedling that I thought died so I pruned it and planted it deep in a grow bag, and now it’s taking off like crazy! Hoping to make some yummy marinara !
i think its hilarious that jacques is such a notorious thief but like what can you do 😂he's like a garden mouse you're paying to keep coming back
HAHAHA
Im excite for your orchard! I recently got another peach tree because the first sapling died... but the second one is doing so well! I hopefully in two years I will get to have peaches too! The same with my apples, got two trees and they are both doing really well. Just gotta be patient. :P
A question for everyone who grows sauce gardens - how do you use your sauces? My only thought is on spaghetti, but I can't eat that much spaghetti and tomatoe sauce 😅
I’m excited to see that soil experiment!!!
im so ready for that garlic vid :D im sitting next to mine and watching it grow xD
I make a lot of sauce every year and I us all type pf tomatoes to make it. I use a lot of paste tomatoes but i do use beef steak and cherry too
Was going to try to make sauce with campari tomatoes this year can't wait!
Congratulations on using your own compost!🎉
Let's get gardening!!!
❤❤❤your garden.
That grass is wonderful mulch! Have your mower throw it right on the base of that peach tree!❤
chetty spaghetti been blessin that compost pile.
honestly so jealous, I keep hoping for the day that I can make enough to cover my beds
Everything is looking really good! Like you last year, we had a failed garlic harvest this year, not sure what happened. We usually get enough for 6-7 months and this time it was enough for 4 meals. Oh well!
Hi Hermoine! 😂 how about some massive amounts of 2 layers of cardboard with compost on top to smother that darn bermuda grass? I struggle so hard with it too!
It'll work but only for a bit!
my garden is also already dying back, but the last frost was also in mid-February when it's usually mid-April. I figure the hotter days must be making them ready earlier- we'll know for sure when i harvest later this week
Have you seen Laura’s video where she called you out for you Cha-mom-oly pronunciation. So funny!
So good!
Kevin and Jacque’s channels are SO much better than Laura’s!
I have planted these tomatoes this season. Looking forward to seeing how yours go too, and how you manage them. Passata is a mainstay in our home, so I'm hoping to learn to grow them well.
Will def. keep you updated!
missed collab with Sauce Gardner
🌱💚🌱 We need an Epic Homesteading app. Land layout planning. Hardiness Zone guides. Planting calendars. Crop care, watering, sunlight requirements. Animal care checklists. Please make an App! 🌱💚🌱
Such a good idea
I am growing "Lungo San Marzano" this year, never tried it before... supposedly a more recent variation on San Marzano that produces even longer fruits.
Have you considered using Hoyas? If you use it already I must have missed that episode.😮
Can’t wait to see your San Marzano’s grow! I bought your seeds and they all germinated-been hardening em off this week. I can’t wait to get em in the ground but, I’m so close to the coast that May grey and June gloom are an issue so I wait a bit to plant. I can tell you, San Marzano’s make the best sauce but adding in other tomatoes in the mix make em Epic! Are you going to jar your sauce? I pressure can my sauce….its a top tier Christmas gift😉 I encourage you to look at pressure canning … I was intimidated at first but it’s not difficult at all. Also, thank you for the Memorial Day Sale, I’m purchasing the new extra long cedar raised bed for my peppers this year.🙌👏👍
Cha-mah-molay, the best! 😂
Witches and Warlocks so you'd be a Warlock Kevin! Cheers from Australia! 👍
S. OR here, zone 8a and our garlic also seems to be coming in early...
bro is a sauce sorcerer
I live in an apartment currently and I just planted a loquat seed in one of my little pots.... hoping by the time I can maybe manage to get a home, it will be ready to put in the ground :] If not, still a fun experiment.
Papaya wow amazing do you have a video on papaya trees? I need to see one
Chammoooomamleee lol. Love it
Woah Kev, quit getting so saucy on us
Never
In san antonio texas and all my garlic started dying off but the heads were all fairly small. Second year growing it at all and first year growing a large bed of it. What fertilizer do you use for it and when do you fertilize?
kevin plz help why didn’t my botanical interests beets grow im in SD too
I can’t find a moment to fertilize my garlic because here in the PNW it won’t stop raining and I feel like it’ll be a waste of time/fertilizer. 😒
Why be a sauce witch or sauce warlock, when you can just be a saucerer?
Cha-mom-mole!
Very convenient.
Nothing like The Sauce Daddy 😂
I’m still planting! 😅 but I’m having fun!
Looking good hit it with neptunes harvest tomato and veg
Do you find your chickens pick at your garden plants? I don't think I've seen you let your chickens in your garden before now.
What spacing do you need on the fruit trees? They look like they might end up being too crowded together at maturity.
9:25 What app are you using to water your garden? Do you like it?
Which ep was the apple tree pruning?
The word you are looking for is Sauce Thaumaturgist
I'm calling it now, Asparagus Armageddon 2025. I can't wait.
No paste for Jacques!
💚💚💚
my garlic finished early this year too. Maybe all the extra water this winter?
I think so!
That didn’t look like a Laura auger 🧐😉
Wow
I feel the power of men
There are so many different types that you can even draw a garden map.😊
You lured me into a charming garden where the path was no longer visible.😗
Now I have salad greens and cucumbers too, I'm happy.😊🥒🥬
When I was touching the carrots, the stems were all limp, but they seem to be fine now.
I don't know if it will bear fruit🙄
Potatoes and tomatoes are being experimented with.🔬
Charmomilay
Where do you get the big bamboo sticks? The ones I have access to are super thin, and could not hold much weight.
Local spot!
Is it a good idea to inter crop peppers and toms?
Works!
Awesome I was a bit worried that they might compete for nutrients in my raised bed 😅
Did I miss the fig video? Where did that fig come from?
Been here for years!
@@epichomesteading Wild, I've been watching your videos for a long time and I think this is my first time seeing it.
I now say chimomolay in real life without thinking. I blame you for this
You could just mow your orchard, like you planned it that way. 😂
LOL
