5-1 one time is bad enough but it can be forgotten about but it wasn’t just one time it was THREE times in a row they’re actually lucky people only say 10-2 forgetting the other time they played which would make it 15-3

Funniest thing is that arsenal finished first in their group that year only to be trashed by Bayern that finished second. Real Madrid also came second that year , crazy to think how much more competitive the round of 16 used to be.

I was at the Madejski that night for that Reading-Newcastle match (was a massive fixture, 1 v 2 in the Championship though it was a pretty drab scoreless draw and Reading didn’t go up in the end). One of my mates who supports Arsenal came along with us, at least he didn’t have to watch Bayern hit 10 😂
