This is my three year guitar solo progress! It might be a different perspective than you might be used to since I orientate on self-written guitar solos! In this video I react to my own work that I started back in 2017. Feeling more like a rhythm player and being frustrated with lead guitar solos, I started my own challenge of writing my own stuff to understand guitar solos of other people better. I learnt much about the role of my instrument during this time and understood many things better. I still won't consider myself as a great guitarist but even during this short period of time where I dedicated myself to try out solos, you can see some developement! Which I want to share with you in this video! During the clips I talk about mistakes I've made and ideas that I got so that it might help you on your own path as a guitar solo beginner! Which one was your favorite solo here? GUITARS (being updated): www.thomann.de/de/ibanez_jem77p_bfp.htm?offid=1&affid=248 So what do you think of my video? 😋✌ HOPE YOU ENJOOOOOYY!!!
Thank you so very much for this. I’ve been playing for 15 years and am finally getting around to trying to learn leads and solos. I’ve started my own channel to keep track of progress. Seeing this video is VERY inspirational! You are amazing J!
Wow great progress for a self taught player as I have been watching youtube videos I used to just watch jazz, blues, but have really started to like rock, heavy metal stuff never really knew there was so much nuance and technique involved in it thanks for your posts
When I heard the Sonne solo for the first time, I immediately had goosebumps all over the place.. It's just so good and I love it.. I'd love to have it on spotify lol
Jassy, I REALLY enjoyed this video very much. I don’t understand any at all about guitar but I know what I like to hear. So I think even your first recap was impressive. I tried lessons 40 years ago and after 4 weeks the tutor told me go home and purchased a triangle.
I bought an electric guitar a year and a half ago, but unlike you, I didn't have the same discipline to learn, your videos inspire me to learn again. You are a beautiful girl, you know how to play, you got a subscriber, rock on!
Practice, practice, practice Jassy. It's the same for everyone. There are no short cuts. Keep pushing yourself and you can be a great lead player. My 20+ years experience as a guitarist
this is such a great video, i struggle with solos, and because of that I kind of stayed away from trying to make my own solos. But recently Ive been playing a lot more and started getting into some more difficult techniques (for me anyway) and your tips are helping so much. I just wanted to say thank you and they are really great tips for any guitar player.
I find so many of your videos to be so inspirational. This is easily one of those! Thank you so much for making videos like this, they make my day more than you know! :D
Always loving your Rammstein covers and your solo in Sonne doesn't disappoint, thought that one was awesome! Not wanting to steal your phrase but you implemented it into the track making it sound like it belonged there and part of the original. The outdoor shoot and camerawork really brought that cover to life like the true rockstar you are!!
I think you're definitely taking the right approach in trying to develop your own style and it looks like it's paying off. Love your look as well, by the way!
"Papercut" is my favorite one. I guess because Linkin Park is the one band that got me into metal, so I'm obviously not that neutral 😂 But the solo fits the song so well. Emotionally, there's something to it, I don't know exactly what, but it's there and it sounds amazing. Hope you're fine and safe!
I like this video. I can hear that your playing have gotten better over time. I am going to start trying to play Solos and just play to then and record it and see if I can get anything that sounds good. Very inspiring video. Thanks Jassy for another great video. Thanks for the inspiration it has been hard after just sitting at home all the time. I really like the red Schecter guitar you have. I liked all the solos but the one when your out side is my favorite.
your Sonne solo is the best one youve written IMO, but my personal fav cover video in general will always be "Papercut". i love everything about that video including your solo XD don't be too hard on yourself. you've come so far in such a short time. it's really amazing. keep up the good work! 😀
Some really great self-analysis and advice here. Very helpful now I'm finally trying to improve my own nonexistent soloing skills. :) Watching you develop your melodic sensibilities and find your own voice over the years has been hugely inspirational for me, and I can't wait to hear what you do on the new Oversense album! That solo you did for Sonne is still my favourite, I think. It's just lovely and really fits the song well. Cool to hear someone else covered it!
Thank you very much =) haha the solos on the album are at least a bit more melodic than what Kirk Hammet does xD Damn that solo in Spit Out The Bone ist just fast xD
I like it when you put feeling in your solos not always playing fast but add feeling let the solo take you to another word I still love every solo from bad to good cause there all awesome to me🤘
really awsome to see the progression and how much you learned and improved! also, im a guitar guy, i run my own part time gutiar shop, so naturally i was drawn to the guitars in the video, would be cool to see all the guitars you've had over the years. Cheers and keep the awesome uploads! your one of my youtube idols =D
Just takes time and practice. Me i can't tape to save my life but sweep picking came natural to me....still can't figure that one out..lol keep shredding! !!!
Just saying jassy I love all of these 😁 at the same time I see where you're coming from because one thing I've noticed is that the artist is always their biggest critic.
Great video Jassy! It's awesome to see the progression, as predominately a rhythm player myself I can totally see where you're coming from here. The solos I enjoyed predominately were the solos that tracked vocal lines in songs you've done this year. It's similar stuff to work on for me, with my own music as well, as lead guitar is something I'm still learning 😀🤘🎶🎸
Jassy, great job on the video. As for a favorite solo? I would have to say Motionless In White - Voices. My techniques I implement in my guitar playing, I do a lot of squealies (Pinch Harmonics for the beginner guitarists out there), hammer on and pull-offs, and finger tapping. I use the Xvive Audio U2 Digital Wireless Guitar System. Have great night, Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Sweet, Keep on Smiling and as always Keep on Rocking!!
Stay safe, too Brian! =) Well Pinch Harmonics is also something I love to do =D There was one point where I just played them the whole time since I was so happy I could play them XD
I wish i could solo full stop but after years of playing i still can't figure it out 🤣 it is great to see your take on various songs and your progression as well, great vid once again 😊🤟🏻
It's all about knowing your fretboard I guess. I have checked out some scales to know what notes suit to which chords =) After messing around you get some ideas after a few days already =)
You play good enough solos for evryone’s tastes! Couple of pointers for you to improve even still: you share the common playing traits of metal players and that’s why you could make an adventure to other music styles like blues, which is the basis of Black Sabbath and heavy metal. Listen to Doug Rappoport for example. There you could learn the magic of tasteful string bending, finger touch/vibrato and use of rhythm patterns in solo line, that are totally different from the rhythm of the song itself. Those are the tricks that blues players use and even the best metal players. Keep playing! 🤟
you have a good attitude. you are aware of being musical with your solo, instead of just going for flash. it's also obvious that you work very hard on your technique. muddy waters said you should "play like a drowning man." that is to say, as if your life depended on it. this video shows that you are always reaching for new limits. just like muddy advised. good for you, thanks for good content!
I am very much not a shredder like I use to be :). Got most of that out in my youth, but yes I do agree. If it suits the song go for it! And be sure to listen to it and make sure it sounds good, if you need to change it, etc. I'm very very picky when I actually do solos, so it usually takes me a few days working off and on until I get it how I want it :). Just my own creativity spawn from my self being my worst critic lol
@JJ'S One Girl Band my favourite solo is rammstien Somme you put some nice hooks in there 😁 also you have to start somewhere when doing solos to be honest none were bad at all keep it up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@JassyPabst the first rammstien song I learned was links 2,3,4 on acoustic by accident I woke up with a hangover my dad put rammstien on and that song was playing and instead of getting water and pain killers I grabbed the guitar and started jamming out that song lol
Wow Jassy it's interesting your solos that you have been implemented in each song, in especial I love the tapping but in my opinion I think in Rammstein songs would be juicy for example in Sonne and Mein Herz Brennt are my favorites because the harmony, rhythms do a good connection. Also I wanna adding another solo on Voices that's a clearly example of what you can reach and hope see more like that, for last one congratulations for your evolution of 3 years of doing solos 🎉 I will suggest you try with the kill switch technique from buckethead, could be interesting to apply for future songs
Neal Schon (Journey), Adrian Smith(Iron Maiden), Roy Z (Tribe of Gypsies/Bruce Dickinson), Luke Morley (Thunder), Steve Rothery (Marillion) and Chris Green (Furyon/Tyketto) are great guitarists to look at when considering different types of Guitar Solos and Rhythm :) Edit: Realised I should have added band names so went back and did :)
Ziemlich cooles Video!
Hi Jassy. Take some time to learn scales & scale patterns. It will help so much with muscle memory & give you a lot more confidence with playing solos & improvising solos, especially in a live setting. You're doing great!
How long have you had the ENGL amp? I thought you just recently got that. You played a Line 6 Spider with your blue PRS years ago and there you are playing the PRS with the ENGL. HMmmmm. : )
Hi, how are you? my name is fer i really like your videos and the way you have improved. Someday I would like to be like you. a hug and greeting from mexico
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life, Rammstein - Sonne и Motionless In White - Voices.
Yes, I used google translate =D The point is that the solos you hear in this video are written by me =) Psychosocial and Strife have been solos written by the band! SO I feel flattered you mentioned them along those solos =)

Thank you =) I really like to experiment with Rammstein songs =D They are really good to train yourself =)
Also I wanna adding another solo on Voices that's a clearly example of what you can reach and hope see more like that, for last one congratulations for your evolution of 3 years of doing solos 🎉
I will suggest you try with the kill switch technique from buckethead, could be interesting to apply for future songs
Is there a Killswitch needed? xD Haven't informed myself yet- If so, I don'T own a guitar with a killswitch XD happy you enjoyed this video =)
Neal Schon (Journey), Adrian Smith(Iron Maiden), Roy Z (Tribe of Gypsies/Bruce Dickinson), Luke Morley (Thunder), Steve Rothery (Marillion) and Chris Green (Furyon/Tyketto) are great guitarists to look at when considering different types of Guitar Solos and Rhythm :)
Edit: Realised I should have added band names so went back and did :)
Oh I love the Iron Maiden solos!
@@JassyPabst They are just perfect no matter which member does them :)
Ziemlich cooles Video!
Wo und_

J'aimerais beaucoup savoir jouer comme toi . Tu gère 😉😉😉

Tu joues tellement bien... j’aime trop
Ouais un français !!

Merci beaucoup, Adam!
I really wanna learn guitar and I have a beginner set right now and am getting stressed about it 😂 it's overwhelming. Very difficult
Implement! ☠️☠️☠️🤟🏼
I do have my favorite words when making talking videos xD
Hi Jassy. Take some time to learn scales & scale patterns. It will help so much with muscle memory & give you a lot more confidence with playing solos & improvising solos, especially in a live setting. You're doing great!
That's what I am doing now, muscle memory =) Thanks, Dale =)
How long have you had the ENGL amp? I thought you just recently got that. You played a Line 6 Spider with your blue PRS years ago and there you are playing the PRS with the ENGL. HMmmmm. : )
Well, that ENGL you see here is just the small brother ;) If you pay attention to my new ENGL it's A LOT bigger xD
@@JassyPabst OOooohhhh..............Well they kinda look alike. : )
SOO True there's more a lot to it..
🔥🔥🔥
Great!! :)
Thank you =)
Woow, I'm impressed, who is you guitar Idol?
Thank you =) I got different idols: Synyster Gates, Michael Paget, Daron Malakian, Guthrie Govan, Yasi Hofer, Herman Li, Jen Majura, ....
@@JassyPabst Herman Li ist the best :) I met him on RIP, he´s a great guy :)
Hi, how are you? my name is fer i really like your videos and the way you have improved.
Someday I would like to be like you. a hug and greeting from mexico
Hey Fer =) I am doing good, thank you =) Cheers to Mexico =)
How many years have you played guitar and since you've played guitar?
You can see here: ua-cam.com/video/Xe8CG1qwnaY/v-deo.html
I need a list of all the guitars that appear in this video 😁
I will extend the list time by time xD
Awesome video even that i didn't watched it till the end
Is this a good or a bad thing? XD
@@JassyPabst I don't actually know :))

@Moacir Christ. Could you just stop spamming my videos, please? Otherwise I might block your channel

Tapping is awesome but, you could try tapping on more strings :D is difficult but just try it
I did on some new Oversense solos ;) It's not that hard to be honest if you understood the technique
You are Super!
Guitar solo !!
Can you do a video on beast and the harlot by avenged sevenfold guitar cover maybe in the future?
I get so many requests, that I cannot promise anything =)
Do you use fretwraps
I use my Jimmy Clip =)
