Looks like my 2018 KTM300XC! Curious what carb and jetting you like at that altitude? I ride CO once a year and have been working at the jetting. It's getting better but I could use a suggestion.
It's an 18 300XC as well and love it. They had it all figured out in 18 and should have stopped. Well except the Jetting and Air Forks.... I could never get the factory Needle to work well and did the Graham Jarvis mod which helped but not perfect. I had to get the JD Jetting Needle which is way better. I put the Needle on the 2nd Clip and used the JD Chart for 8,000ft+ which worked perfect this trip to CO. Never felt the Power loss much up to 13,000ft and ran great at 9,000ft. I would get the JD kit and make sure you have the smaller Main and Pilot Jets ready to go. Go with the second clip on the needle at home then it is easy to tune it in with the Main and Pilot by just turning the carb at the Campsite and swapping those. I have a High Compression Head and Gnarly Pipe so my jetting will be a little different but is right at what the JD Charts says.
Tons of free Camping all near the Trailhead for this and the connectors to it. Look up Taylor Park Reservoir and there should be good info. You will want this Map from Lattitude40 Maps- (Crested Butte-Taylor Park Trails Map 6th Ed.) Lots of trails and to avoid waiting all your gas riding gravel roads you will want to plan your camping spot well.
Good stuff!
Nothing like some good flowy Single Track after dodging basketball size rocks and snow drifts for a few days
That’s a full moto legal trail. Looks like the top of star and then the Lily pond connector.
I think you are right. It ends at Italian Creek Rd near Flag Mountain. Too lazy to go get my map from the Trailer….
