Hi Raymond, I understand your reaction, but I didn't work on it for more than an hour and for the customer this was an important watch as it has great sentimental value. I often have this that the customers want to spend more money on the repair than the value of the watch. But it always gives me satisfaction when I see that they are satisfied so. That's my job and I love it ;-)

This coming from a person who gets excited about Genshin Impact. Of course, obsessing about RPG games is far superior to the knowledge it takes to expertly fix a watch...

Thanks for video. I have my own watch tools from eBay, Ali, etc. The cost of the tools is recovered after changing 2 of my batteries. My watch glass is shattered so thanks again for your vid on replacing the glass.

I don't think you will find an original glass, but that is not necessary. Aftermarket is perfect. Then you first have to know what the diameter of the watch glass is. If you know this, you then order that size, one size smaller and one size larger. Because this can sometimes differ. Maybe you can find it on Amazon or Ebay? I order them from CousinsUK, but that is only for professionals.

It seemed the glass was protruding a bit from the case, was that ok in this case? I never understand if that's a sign f glass misplacement or if it could be designed that way!
It depends on the watch, here is was ok. But it's certainly possible to put a watch glass in a watch which one is a lot to thick.

What if you couldn’t size the glass Bc of the damage. How would I find the right size to order
there would be at least a small piece you could measure for thickness, then use the calipers to measure the ID of the case for the circumference
Have you ever replaced the glass on a seiko G757 sports 100. I have had one since i was a kid the glass is smashed. My sister found it on the road about 30 years ago broken band and smashed glass but still functioning and its lived in the draw ever since I removed the battery when it died and must have lost one of the screws on the battery clamp. Now I'm older I'm interested in getting it back into service. I saw the bond movie octopussy and saw the watch which sparked my interest again.

A watch press costs under £10. A watch glass, circa £10..£20, or acrylic circa £3. 😊
