I love her so much. Good to see that Charlamagne showed respect for her. Issa might be the most important Black show runner (over DG and Shonda) because her depictions of Black life are the most realistic and non-stereotypical I've ever seen on TV. Good to see People of color that aren't portrayed as "cool", "strong/badass"', or "victimized." Incredible time right now for the representation of Black people in film/tv.

Absolutely. I am only 24 years old and I'm exhausted. People often box any emotion black women show that isn't happy, or obedient as anger. It's hard to be happy because then people say you're arrogant. When you finally find the energy to tell people how youre feeling, being vulnerable, they refuse to believe you. I have been told to my face that how feel doesn't matter, that they don't believe that i am feeling the way i feel, that i am over exaggerating, that i am playing a victim, being negative, etc. I have been told all of this by just simply saying "you hurt my feelings". People do not believe black women have feelings. People will not believe black women are human. I am human.

her show should address colorism in the black community , I hate the fact that we get discriminated for wearing our natural hair , are afros are called "nappy" , meanwhile a mixed light skin black persons hair is "good" and "curly" . Lighter skin is not better than darkskin . whats wrong with being black , whats wrong with a round nose and big lips .

    • @Elizabeth-yu6iu

Charlamagne did not make Lil Mama cry. Charlamagne tried to tear Lil Mama down because he didn't like the fact that she got on stage with Jay Z and Alicia Keys during their performance. He felt she needed to be chopped down a little because she was being too cocky But, in that interview, no matter what Charlamagne threw at her, Lil Mama actually held her own and handled herself well. The breakdown came when Angela Yee asked her about getting back in the studio and it made her reflect on the death of her mother. That's what brought her to tears. If anything Lil Mama got Charlamagne together at the end of that interview and made him look small.

Yes. Someone gets it. White, teachers in the south use country words like fitna, and round hurr. Ebonics is just an offshoot of southern slang that spread with the great black flight from the south in the early 20th century. My cousins, who were born here in the south, vocally sound way different than their friends because our family is from the north, but their vocabulary is mostly the same.
