      @@pennyboardtyler definitely going to check them out. I think my fear is picking my back foot up and putting it down on the pavement to stop myself going downhill. My balance is not the best. I just walk down it to prevent my fall 😅

      Same lol, confidence was at an all time high after going down a hill with curves/turns to it. So I decided to go down my steep, straight hill. Thankfully, it could’ve gone way worse. But I now have a perm scar on my left shoulder and when it happened I sprained my wrist pretty badly.
      Ngl, ever since, I’ve grown scared of riding again. I gotta overcome it one day or another

    Dont forget to mention aftermarket bushings! There is only so much you can do with stock bushings on your trucks. Typically they will only be good about +/-1 turn until they are either too tight and get squished, or are too loose and not engaged. Venom and Riptide both make excellent bushings for all styles of skating.

    Thanks, Tyler. As a long-time mountain biker, we always push our weight towards the rear of our bikes on descents. It's interesting that we do just the opposite on skateboards -- good to know! 🤙

    @Penny Board Tyler will be tightening my front trucks now as i went off uneven pavement yesterday lucky i always wear my gear as it could have been worse at 20mph usually deal fine with speed wobbles and ride out eventually allowing for natural physical momentum to bomb down then enough power from the speed gets me to the next uphill which is good as no need to keep pushing and carving to go uphill again on return
    have a sore nose had nose bleed and have a fat top lip and a graze on my forehead but thank my sense to always wear my lid lol

    I experienced my first wobble today on a highway hill. Thank God it was 5 am and the road was empty. I jumped off and rolled no problem but i wouldn't want to ever experience that feeling again, especially in a rush hour day. Thanks for the infos. Salam alaikom 💚

    One thing I have found is a reverse style truck is more stable than a standard truck, but at the expense of turning ability. I have a long drop through with reverse and an electric with reverse hub drive. Both very stable at speed. Where I am 75 mm and over are best diameter due to seed pods off trees.

    • @pennyboardtyler

    My problem is I don’t know how to stop. I was wobbling hard down a (stupid of me to hit jt) steep steeeep hill. I was cocky cuz I used to skateboard / longboard all the time like 10 years ago but now I’m 33 and old. When I tried to drag my heel/ foot on the ground to slow down, I wiped the concrete with my skin lol.

    • @pennyboardtyler
      @pennyboardtyler  5 місяців тому

      Uffda! That’s rough so I’m sorry to hear about your wipeout. Learning how to stop is one thing, and then understanding your ability to stop at differing speeds is another. I hope you are doing better since your fall and can keep giving it a try. Best of luck 🤙🏼

    Does the advice to shift your weight forward also apply to popsicle decks as well? Like when those GX1000 psychos bomb hills, do they shift their weight forward too? Or is this mostly for long boarders?

    • @pennyboardtyler
      @pennyboardtyler  11 місяців тому +1

      I'm just seeing this now, but it's relatively similar when you're a casual rider. For the people who are really into more extreme downhill riding (like 30-70mph+), I'm aware stances and weight shifting will be slightly different. Josh Neumann was a rider I used to watch do this, and he has a different stance, but his weight in general is still forward on the board
