Bertie | Lesson 2 On Make Music Day 2023 | Yamaha Music London

On Make Music Day our Music Ambassador Bertie takes you through some fun, finger picking fundamentals. Over two guitar lessons Bertie will help you master the useful Drop D tuning technique.
A songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Bertie writes with a variety of folk, pop, indie and rock artists and plays lots of gigs in and around London open mic and showcase circuit and has recently performed live in Liverpool Sound City, Sofar Sounds Paris, a roof-top gig in Israel and the 5 star hotel and members club The Ned in London.
Bertie released 6 songs in 2022, had over 55,000 streams, played a headline set at the world-famous Ronnie Scotts, and was one of the winners of the Yamaha Music London Ambassador competition.

Our Indie Pop Music Ambassador is having an incredible year. As well as supporting Yamaha Music London at events and producing compelling, online creative content, Bertie has enjoyed sell-out performances and released a string of brilliant releases. Bertie was gifted a Yamaha FSX5 guitar as part of his prize package, which he has found super-useful playing live venues.
Bertie’s heart-warming recent releases “Married by Moonlight” and “Ever After” have romance and relationships at the centre of their lyrics.
You can catch Bertie at the Good Vibrations Festival near Brighton on 05 August. Then in late summer there will be more new music and shows to look forward too!
Make Music Day, the world’s biggest DIY music festival takes place across the globe on 21st June every year with free music performances and online activities. The idea started in France, back in 1982 when it was decided to dedicate a day every year open to everyone to enjoy playing and listening to music. Make Music Day has now spread to 125 countries and here at Yamaha Music London we are definitely on board!
