- Hello everyone and welcome back to The Beatles Forever. This is the last video regarding the book John by Cynthia Lennon. We have reached the end of the road for John, Cynthia and Julian. What happened that led to the break up? We will find out now.
The Beatles were worldwide superstars and were experiencing life at an unprecedented pace. Every type of drug, food, fame, booze, women, and cultural experiences came to them in a few short years. Most people wouldn't have experienced these things if they lived multiple lifetimes. In many ways it was hard for them to handle it and John in particular was ill equipped emotionally to be a father and a good husband. He wasn't even a good husband to Yoko. Self absorbed and jealous of Paul's success he had no time for Julian which is a shame. As a singer/songwriter he was most gifted but as a person he left a lot to be desired.
he made the right choice, he knew he wasn't gonna be a good father with the beatles in full swing.
sorry he was a narcissistic pos, everything had to be about him, he was incapable of real empathy. He switched to childish dependency w Yoko but still not an adult relationship.
@@scrambaba he was the opposite of a narcissist, he was always the first one to tell you the Beatles were just a band, nothing more. also if you think john was a pos , then your misguided. his friends and family dont think that about him and they love him. but there will always be haters somewhere in the world IG
@@jsmusic1217 A narcissist makes everything about themselves. Lennon being one is consistent with him trashing the Beatles (which he did repeatedly from about 1968 to 1972 or so) when it promoted his interest to do so. Narcissists are also often extremely charming and attractive people on the outside. It is only the people in the very inner circle of intimacy that have to deal with the toxic personality and behaviour. Lennon being a narcissist is consistent with being popular and even loved by many. Lennon used May Pang for a year and dropped her like yesterday‘s news when Yoko called him. He abandoned his first family just like his own father abandoned him. Lennon‘s self-centred behaviour is not even open to question. If you did something he didn‘t like, look out pal, he would be nasty as hell. Once he got his way, the charm would come back on. Classic narcissism. They tend to mellow as they get older and it is possible that Yoko was able to find ways to smooth the roughest edges but in later years he was more or less free of any entsnglements that would trigger the worst behaviours.
@@scrambaba he was just being real, its not like he was doing it to benefit himself, HE WAS IN the beatles. Also lennon was not "charming" on the outside, he would outright tell people to piss off if he felt like it. And also he didnt "use" may pang, yoko set up their relationship for them until they could get things figured out. and yes he did leave his son for a while because he was busy touring and in the studio half way across the globe, he was the first to admit he wasn't as good as a father as he shouldve been. and yes he could be nasty but he could also be an angel, he wasn't perfect he was a human being.

Well for a little time he was great to Cynthia he hit her once and he never did it again. Go listen to Cynthia reading her book about John. It's on youtube and it is very very good. I have the book but haven't read it.

It seems to me that John treated Cynthia cruelly to ease his guilt over his adultery.

Julian, Yoko and Sean are the only one’s left of this madhouse that John had no idea about.
As usual, the first wife that made all the sacrifices before the Beatles were famous gets the short end of the deal. Pushed aside like yesterday's newspaper, not acknowledged or treated fairly by any means.And his own son as well. As the child of divorced parents, I can relate.
What sacrifice? She wasn't good at anything in terms of having a career. John was a bad boy at college and she was attracted to him. Good girls getting attracted to bad boys is a known thing. She dumped her then normal boyfriend for John. She got lucky that Beatles happened. Her next two marriages failed as well. She lost most of the money she got in alimony. In fact she changed her last name back to Lennon to make more money.
His son got a raw deal though.

He abandoned his son then complained endlessly to sympathetic journalists that he had been abandoned as a boy.
Where was the overdue confrontation re his hypocrisy?
That woman made a beeline for John (and Paul previously and he kept a wide distance). Poor John, manipulated and controlled believing he was happy. You can see by the photos with Ono, he just wasn’t the same.
And the same things go on with non celebrities.
Brings you down to earth about idolising people though I guess.
I love John's music.
It's a great influence.
Celebrities also give bad influence.
Everyone has their faults and talents.
Seems he was equally endowed with faults and talents.
And then suddenly no more.
An unusual life, amazing music but really I feel so sorry for poor Cynthia and Julian.
They however learned from the experience and found peace in forgiveness
It would be one thing if Cynthia came back and found John with Brigette Bardot; but to find him with someone like this. Reminds me of the thing with Maria Schriver and Arnold where Arnold was banging some housekeeper that looked like Danny Devito. Cynthia's mind must have been blown to bits. Then to find out about Yoko's (ahem) unique talents, would only add to the irony. If all of that wasn't bad enough, Lennon expected all of us to feel the same way about her as he did. Alas, it would have been impossible for someone to achieve the level of fame that Lennon did without going sightly insane.
I don't know why he would leave her for Yoko Ono. Cynthia was such a beautiful pretty kind lovely woman. I'd sure love to have a girlfriend wife like her.

John Lennon falling in love with Yoko Ono while at the height of his taking LSD, marijuana and other mind altering drugs is the one good reason NOT to do drugs.
John must have been deaf too (as well as blind). He honestly couldn’t have heard her ‘singing’.
What a hypocrite - Imagine all the people….except me of course I can treat my people like crap. Cynthia shoulda got a better lawyer and done a Phil Collins to Lennon and cleaned the blackguard out.
I do not approve of Lennon’s morals and anti-theist statements, but I been following your very interesting videos. You have a great humility in your voice and do this without phony fanfare I hear in a lot of videos. I remember that rainy Tuesday morning when a business associate told me that John Lennon was shot and died.
I as a kid heard my older siblings playing Beatle songs.

When a person takes away a husband and then gets them to break all ties with their past and calls that love its BS. Its about a agenda other wise they would not be threatened by their past. Yoko didnt love John she wanted to own him like a possession jonh was just being used.

@@delainepep22In her last book, Cynthia wrote that if she could do it all over again, she would ignore John Lennon and go on with her life. I do not believe that because she would not have had Julian. In addition, in the song, "Don't Let Me Down," where he sang "I'm in love for the first time," is a lie. I do believe that he truly loved Cynthia. I also believed that John, when taking Julian to Disneyland in 1973, was feeling guilty for his leaving Cynthia. She was walking a few paces behind John and Julian with John ignoring her. Just awful.
Just read her book "John" and was nice to hear it all from her point if view. That Aunt Mimi was a troubled lady. Should I call her a lady?😮
In another universe, John stuck with Cynthia, Had 6 kids with her, moved to a ranch close to Paul, and helped Julian and the rest of his kids produce Legendary next generation Lennon Records
This episode puts John in the worst light although there are good sides to his character. John and Yoko attracted what was worst in their characters and were co dependent

Julian pasaba unos dias con su padre y una vez se puso a reir a carcajadas,John miro a su hijo y le dijo que odiaba su risa 😢 Cynthia conto que desde este momento Julian jamas volvio a reir fuerte,solo sonreia. Y si se fijan en Julian de adulto solo hace media sonrisa,y sus ojos nunca sonrien. Asi era John,un gran musico pero una pesima persona.
John wasn’t looking for anything so much as for a mother. Hence Yoko. Cynthia was lucky to be shod of him. Look how it all turned out.

The more I find out about "John and Yoko" and especially how they treated others, the less respect I have for them. A couple of self centered takers so messed up, so juvenile, yet presuming that they were so above everyone else that they should now go around telling everyone how to live. Their lives are a textbook example of what NOT to do if you are lucky enough to find fame and fortune.
There is a putrid stench of betrayals, dirty dishes, drugs and lying about on stained mattresses, that they give off -- leaving all normal human work to others. Yoko didn't even do her own "art" but hired students to gather the materials and put them together.
At least you had respect for them unlike me,don’t get me wrong i love Lennon as an artist but his ways regarding human relationships has always been appalling to me.

John ran his mouth .... about anything ..... considered his bully pulpit a justified weapon to inform, condescend .... he betrayed his wife Cynthia ... their son ... took up with a woman of absolutely no talent whatsoever and worse screamed into a microphone - in absence of any melodic skill - got in the way of the Beatles unity, came to recording sessions NEVER ALLOWED before .... in general CREATED CHAOS ..... and finally did stupid things on camera and in commentary without thought of consequence .... which in the end brought the attention of a disturbed man trying to impress Jody Foster ! I thought much higher of the other Beatles - especially Paul .... who proved to be most talented and successful post Beatlemania ! GBjj
John was a very messed up person that was trying to be normal but can´t, that was the problem, he had everything, he achieved everything but he couldn´t be happy, his dark side came up with Yoko without a doubt, she was highly disturb as him, or worse, and John was a heavy drug addict by that time, so that is that., Cynthia should have realized that John had too many issues to be a normal person

its not posturing, it was redemption and realism. john was being real and recognized his faults, more than what most people do.

Cynthia forgave John. We have to come to terms that the times they had were good. Things changed so rapidly one could have only imagined that all the Beatles faced divorce with the exception of Paul. Paul cheated on Jane before Linda was in the picture. George cheated with Maureen during his marriage to Patti. Maureen cheated on her marriage to Ringo. People you need to mind your own business if you are up in arms about what fame did to the Beatles. I mean the facts remain John couldnt have been perfect no matter what fame did to him1 I wouldnt expect him to have known how to handle the world at his feet the way it happened to him.
