The man who composed the music is Toshihiko Horiyama! His name is not found in the video description so I must comment about this. His name deserves to be know after all he wrote the music that we are listening to!

I'm semi-considering learning how to make games. Making a spiritual successor to this game is at least 50% of the reason why.

This is truly a timeless and solid soundtrack from the SNES era of gaming. Each song in this OST is memorable, catchy, and it fits well with the dark gothic atmosphere of the game. I can listen to this game's OST over and over again, and never grow bored of it. Capcom really outdid themselves with this one. And the funny thing is this game came out the same year as Megaman X, another Capcom game that I have fond memories of. God I miss this era.
It's amazing.
A fine individual recommended I listen to the soundtrack, I did and it has been a blast, watch a playthrough of it, and now I'm listening to this, would recommend it to anyone who enjoys good fun music.

@@hermeticinstrumentalist6804 Yeah. This musical score is pretty timeless. And yes, both games came out in 1994. Although Megaman X was released early in the year, and Demon's Crest came out late in the year. More specifically in October. So Demon's Crest came out just in time for Halloween. And boy what a Halloween season it was.

Dunno but Dark Souls bring me back this game and Vagrant Story,
dark souls is the billie eilish of videogames.
Look up Chakan The Foreverman for Genesis if you've never heard of it. Similar hub world and level select to Demon's Souls and quite difficult.

His name is Toshihiko Horiyama. By the way, he also wrote the password music for Mega Man X!

TBH it's one of the great Metroidvania's of its era, and criminally underrated to boot. Great setting, story, gameplay, score.....just everything.
The opening theme reminds me so much of the Forest Temple music in Zelda OOT. Anybody else?

Maybe the best game of all time. The soundtrack alone is substantial. Also take the time to Emulate it there's two different endings and full armor is really fun.

Quem nunca voltava várias vezes nas casas só pra acessar as áreas secretas depois de conseguir os poderes pra quebrar os tijolinhos? Eu não fiquei satisfeito enquanto não explorei 100% do jogo. Hj eu gosto de jogar Mobile Legends com essa trilha ao fundo . MT bom, MTA saudade.
Época diferente mesmo... nasci nos anos 2000, e simplesmente não consigo jogar esse jogo kkkkkk um game 2d não linear acaba sendo muito confuso por algum motivo. Não consigo me imaginar indo e voltando nas casas pra acessar as áreas secretas (mal termino o extetior do Coliseu e já fico perdido).

Please do not remake this game. If was meant for 3d, it would been progressive in that direction (outside the map world).
The organists of Halloween could be hammering out ghoulish goodness like this. Though it's a great 2D game confined to its time & place, it makes me wonder about the politics & power plays of the forces of darkness. Even in my Christian faith, I ponder the enemy of our soul's ways and motives, but not too much I hope
