This cent may look the same as any you might find in your pocket on any given day, but it couldn’t be further from it.
➡️ Aside from its weight difference and color, it is worth about 1 million dollars!

➡️ We can only hope that one day the US Mint can tell us exactly what happened to cause this oddity.
📌 Update: as I was watching the video myself at 5:10 seconds into the film I noticed something I would like to share.
There is a blob of aluminum like substance, roundish, on the L of Liberty. I also believe the Black LINE on the rims is some type of material used to stabilize the weight of the cent to 3.11 grams.

If you get a xrf scan you can tell the composition but I have many of these sense 7677 and they look definitely different from other pennies they look bronze rather than copper

1974 is one of the best kept secrets folks. I opine, from direct knowledge, that other 1974 coin denominations are included in this. I will advise further as I submit for authenticity what I just found. Put is this way...weigh them!! Stay tuned! (July 4, 2019).

Okay I don't know how to say this so I will just say it ---- you have a regular 1974 penny worth exactly 2 maybe even 3 cents depending on the copper scrap prices...

Question. What should a person do if they think they have a valuable penny? or even a valuable nickle, dime or quarter?
You bring it to someone who frequently sends coins to be graded and they will look at it to confirm if you should get it graded. Once graded, you can sell it easy for top dollar. I once had a friend who wanted to sell me 12 Morgan silver dollars for $200 total. (Silver weight cost only ). I noticed that 1 was an 1896 o (new orleans)
mint mark. I was honest with her and had her send it out to be graded. .. came back AU 58 which is pretty high for that coin..... worth $8,500 . I could have just bought it for $20.... but I guess I am too honest lol. Take a picture of the coins you have a question about and post a video or slide show. I'll let you know if you have anything valuable.

I have this identical coin with no mint mark. I recently acquired it at my workplace. I knew with no mint it had to be special so I already locked it up in a safety deposit box....so glad I did while I did research on it.

Not one paid ANYTHING for the COIN.Its not worth anything more than I Cent untill it's GRADED by NGC or the like. Stay AWAY from PCGS.THEY HAVE AN AGENDA OF NOT BEING HONEST IN MY BOOK.HE PROBABLY IS SMOKING CRACK AND TRYING TO IMPRESS HIS BOYFRIEND.
Compairing sharpness was Blurry . Send to NGC. For Grading ,and have it certified .For Full Value. They will compair to any exstisting 1974 Lincoln cents that have been sold or found and certified .keep Hunting

I have to go back through my coppers now . I have one that looks like this . I noticed it was wierd. Only bad things is that I have thousands of coppers I have pulled aside. I use a magnifier that goes up to 600x

You need to send it off to the US mint to authenticate it. Than you can rest assured you can get some big $$$$ for it.
Does the aluminum one have a sharper pitch in sound than that of a regular 1974 Lincoln penny?
If your Lincoln Cent is the aluminum or steel cent then it should stick to a magnet.🌷🤗🌻
If it was an aluminum 1 cent it would still look like aluminum, and it absolutely will not stick to a magnet.

I can tell you that the weight of the 1974-D Aluminum is 1.0 grams. It is the same diameter as the standard copper. The third and last test in the fiber material used in the making of the penny, that is not available information. Bcuz I own one and a mansion and a yacht.

Well after reading through the comments with just about everyone here having one I'm guessing the rarity and value of the coin has dropped significantly
