Black Fairy is my favourite, because it's the only song on the soundtrack that truly captures the feelings of absolute dread, despair and darkness that James would be feeling.
I was trying to find black fairy on spotify but there is only a version where is this weird anoying statick sound. Is there the in game version on spotify?
The coolest thing about both songs is how heaven's night smoothly becomes alone in the town. And I consider Alone in the town as one of my favorite songs for a walk
Black fairy is my favorite, it sound like death, sickness, mental anguish, everything that’s in the game. My dad passed a couple weeks ago and I listened to it and it captured how everything felt perfectly, the morbidity of me finding him cold, the emptiness in the house and the burning emotional scars. The way death came and left a stench on the family that we will never fully get out.
@@projectdreamzz most silent hill soundtracks became meme tbh. although "Never Forgive me Never Forget me" makes me mad because that one was a sad soundtrack, and it became a laughable meme for years
You didn’t know they named the songs..? Are you aware that every single soundtrack composed for every single movie/show/game is named & sold as a product..? Bro thinks “hey, what track goes over this cutscene?” “Oh it’s the brrrr bum bum wrrrr one” is how productions teams communicate
It is Promise, and then theme of Laura, the other ones are mostly used as a background of or part of research for students and musicians that's why they ranked higher. @@ridiculogan2962.
I can't really listen to Promise (Reprise) casually since it always has a very unsettling kind of tone to me, and makes me feel on edge in a way that's kind of hard to explain. True I can listen to all the time because it just sounds like a really good instrumental track to me that isn't subtly bathed in a horror tone. I guess the best way I can put it is that Promise sounds like psychological horror music, and True just sounds like a regular song.
Nothing takes away from my mind the moment when Fermata in Mistic Air starts playing; just remembering the intensity of that moment gives me chills down my spine. It has become my new favorite song from the franchise. Magdalene in the Remake also seems so much more emblematic. God, how they nailed it.
@@abyianabel I totally agree with you! Many composers can touch our emotions with equally beautiful music. But Akira Yamaoka makes us access inexplicable and abstract feelings. It truly is an ethereal experience.
I grew up with the Silent Hill franchise, with all the games and the movies. I remember my dad playing it and he is a big fan of silent hill. That’s what got me into it. The whole aesthetic, theme, and music hits home. For a couple of years now I’ve actually been listening to silent hill music to study and sleep too. It definitely helps me and is probably the only thing that helps me sleep and study.
The Day of Night is definitely my favorite. I play this soundtrack in the car turned low when I'm giving my friends therapy, lol. I've noticed some get silent when that song plays
The day of night is so emotional for me every time I hear it. It automatically makes me cry, it makes me feel like I’m in the afterlife in peace. Such an amazingly beautiful song.
Day of Night and Blank Fairy are probably my favorite tracks SH2 that are in the more mellow side. God the times I would be done with a test at school and had to wait quietly until class was over, would put on an extended Blank Fairy video and just kick back.
The Day of Night might be the best song I've ever heard. It's one of the rare songs I can listen to no matter what my mood is and especially if I'm down. It doesn't make me feel more depressed, just understood ❤
"Black Fairy" honestly evokes feelings of despair and depression; it truly captures the essence of Silent Hill. While the other songs are great too, this one feels as if it emerged from the mind of a despondent person. I believe it deserves to be in the top spot, but that’s just my opinion.
I’m not sure how you perceive this sound, but The Day of Night always brings me this bittersweet nostalgia from back in 1999-2000. When I listen to it, I get this warm feeling of autumn and winter coziness. You make yourself a winter tea, sit by the fireplace, and enjoy the misty weather outside the window. Man the 2000s were so full of life, and everything felt more meaningful back then, before smartphones took over.
I listen to these every morning while getting ready for work, my partner doss not mind. My soul, my sadness, my pets past are all walking in daylight fog listening to these amazing tracks.
Honestly, I would've expected Magdalene or Prisonic Fairytale to be also there, with alone in town too, but that would've made more like a Playlist to fall asleep to. Heaven's night totally deserves that place
The Reverse Will and Terror in the Depths of Fog are Silent Bangers. Also, it's a crime that the other version of Promise is not Top 1 or in the Top 6 at least
I love the sheer difference between them 1. Calm, ambient song 2. Spooky, but beautiful piano 3. Calm, ambient song 4. THE MOST EMOTIONAL ROCK SONG YOU'VE EVER HEARD 5. Calm, ambient song 6. Calm, ambient song
@Mono_Autophobic Yeah. That's where the jarring difference is. 4 of the songs share a similar vibe and then one of them is strikingly different. If they all were fully distinct then the difference wouldn't be so jarring.
I remember falling asleep to the sh2 ost and waking up in the middle of the night to promise (reprise) and I felt as though I was in Nirvana. I felt like I wasn't in this world anymore but I enjoyed the feeling. I've been addicted to the ost ever since and have the whole ost on like 2 of my main playlists.
Prisonic Fairytale es simple pero te produce la sensación de estar cayendo lentamente en la fosa de las Marianas viendo como de a poco van llegando menos rayos de luz. Todo el OST es simplemente brillante.
I have fallen asleep to the day of night soooo many times
me and you both
Yeah me too
Remake ver kinda not so much a sleeper tbh
Ugh same 😩
The one with the PS2 intro
PROMISE IS A BANGER!
Original*
❤
somebody even sampled it for peep. shit hits hard
FACT!
Promise is definitely 1st for me
Black Fairy is my favourite, because it's the only song on the soundtrack that truly captures the feelings of absolute dread, despair and darkness that James would be feeling.

Love the droning noise idk why but 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
I was trying to find black fairy on spotify but there is only a version where is this weird anoying statick sound. Is there the in game version on spotify?
"Alone in the Town" and "Heaven's Night" not having as many listeners as any of those is wild to me
The coolest thing about both songs is how heaven's night smoothly becomes alone in the town. And I consider Alone in the town as one of my favorite songs for a walk
Heaven's Night is so friggin good
Another song I really love is "The reverse will"
No fr
Are you me? I would have typed this comment verbatim if you hadn’t, but I would include Null Moon.
Also, I like the in-game version of Heaven’s Night [original] more than the OST version.

Thanks for sharing brother
I promise it'll get better. Gotta get through it. I believe in you
Take each day as it comes 💙
Blank Fairy has such a hypnotic trance like feel to it.. can't really explain it with words but when you listen, you feel things happening around you
So damn true mate
that's exactly the vibe, and hypnotic descent into the abyss of Silent Hill
It's how the emptiness sounds like. Perfect for that part in the game.

The Reverse Will is so good, too. Surprised Love Psalm wasn’t up here due to how my times it has been redone.
Thats crazy. I did not know they named em. The White noise haunts me till this day
White noiz is actually the chiller ones
Blank Fairy is the one that gets me. So haunting and surreal.

Null Moon is so good, too, especially how creepy is at the end.
A World of Madness is one of my favorites too, especially how it plays after Forest.
A world of madness is one of my favorites too but it seems like a lot of people don’t talks about that one even though it’s good
Theme of Laura will always be my number 1
Same here, man. ✊🏻

Because I will listen to The Day Of Night literally all day sometimes. The more ambient songs are amazing for anxiety and focus.
Glad it’s not
Day of night deserves top spot
the new remaster of Laura's theme is SO good, they swung on it like a SH3 song and absolutely knocked it out of the park
Pianissimo Epilogue is mad underrated
1000%
The day of night is such a beautiful ambience song.
Theme of Laura is so freakin genius. Actually the best game OST I've evere heard in my life

For me "Promise" is the best song of the whole game ❤ The melody is melancholic and mysterious but at the same time the main notes are full of hope.
