I have a question is the 3.8 liter v6 a non interference engine or a interference engine?

its interference engine once the chain breaks theres a big chance u will be having a bent valve

@@iancharles3298 a non interference engine is more likely in something like a 02 Sebring or a pt. And it is still possible to bend your valves in a non interference engine. Mostly duel overhead cam engines.

This job does not need power tools. Just put a wrench on it and some pb blaster and tap the wrench with a rubber hammer.

good for you if u only use your hand no powertools but it would be great if u could show us how did you do it and how long ...

@@asianmechanicguy6483 if you dont know how to do that then you should not be showing people how to work on their car. Cause you are not a real auto mechanic. I have never used a single power tool and i have done this job on many of cars never had an issue and i can do it 3x faster. Never had one go past 3 hours and that was with a rusted over pos.

Your timing chain looks pretty worn to you might want to think about changing it out. Just to prevent catastrophic failure.

@@amosfridley3142 since you have done them before how do you get the cover off without damage? I dont want to pry it till it cracks

@@kushsalad420 depends on how deep you are into it.thereare a few things that can give you probs getting the cover off. Most common are the studs the water pump slide on to. Spray down the studs every 30 mins with pb blaster apply heat using a torch to the base of the studs only. Snuggly attach vice grips to the center of the stud and start tapping the handle of the vice grips with a rubber mallot.... Sry for spelling. Repeat this till the stud breaks loose. Just take care not to break the studs. After that gently try prying the cover off if it still doesn't come off you have more probs then the studs if wich you should definitely have a pro look at it. And please for the love god dont pull you power steering pump . just rent a pully puller and press from auto zone. And just take the pully off the remove the braket.
