Revolutionary Road and Newman's melody left such a deep imprint in me that everytime I hear the first chords, I'm lost back in the moment after just finishing the movie. Completely done, shaken, sad, longing for them to have a better ending, understanding their need to live something more, to be more, and just getting lost in the everyday life, hopelessly trying to fight back and losing it all in the end. I don't understand how you can feel so many emotions all at once, or how well you can re-live all of them with a few chords of a melody. Magic, pure magic.
Revolutionary road a sad movie, and the music score by Thomas Newman, you hear all the saddest in his music, so disturbing is the script, brilliant actress Kate winslet gives the movie goer all the red flags that this is going to end badly. The music too, it’s so sad but at the same time , there’s this beauty in its saddest , beautiful music score , hauntingly beautiful, the different chords played, the change in tune , the music a perfect backdrop to the movie and of what’s to come. Brilliant score.
I stumbled upon the movie near its completion..unknowingly...the music had me - as it does this very moment- tearful and so many emotions flying....the closing credits....breathtaking...literally

Then, the first chords of the soundtrack started playing. My heart was touched profoundly. I keep feeling the same way whenever I go back to listening to this track.
a beautiful score, just effortlessly wonderful. Newman is a genius. It was a heartbreaking ending to an emotive movie that had such poignancy, sorrow and the struggles of the characters of April & Frank were so magnificently portrayed by Kate & Leo. Both act out of their skins, its a masterclass. Putting the music & performances together made for a towering piece of cinema and very underrated imho. Just stunning to listen to & always brings me back to visualising the movie.

Capturing the amazing cues from the ost and the essence of the movie. Which is really a compliment. I have seen other poeple trying to make suites But they failed miserable. So its not just copying pieces of tracks after each other.
