I used to do this when I was more young. it’s easy to do.
1. Get any soda cola, speite, fanta ect.
2. Shake it much as possible for a 2 minutes.
3. Put into freezer for atleast 3 hours.
4. When you take it from freezer open and close bottle then hold bottle upside down and turn it back on like 3 times.
5.Then you can put drink into glass which will look very cool.
or just like pour it in a dish and put it in the freezer over night, then let it thaw

This is freaking brilliant. The slush AND the ribbon. Why the hell don't we have this in the US!?
Very old comment, but to answer your question, It's because the sheer amount of transport required to get something from the factory to the consumer coupled with poor packaging technologies available with nearly every transport service and the abysmal conditions of most US roads would prohibit the transport of such fragile labels en-masse. The cost to send it all out would skyrocket the price. The american market is mostly convinced by the flavor and serving size of foods rather than the presentation, so the reception wouldn't be able to outweigh the projected cost.
What I love about this, is it's an abuse of phase change of water to ice. You can have a bottle of water in the freezer all day. You gently pull it out and it's super-cooled. Once you disturb it significantly, the super-cooled water will almost instantly change to ice as it's below freezer and still a liquid.
This is so cool to see in a vending machine.
why though? okay water can be both frozen and liquid at 0 degrees, but why doesnt it form ice before being tapped?
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j I'm writing this from memory, so it might not be exact, ice crystals form by having h2o molecules arrange in a hexagonal pattern, when you cool water, you're taking energy away from it, so if kept absolutely still, the molecules don't have the kinetic energy to align and thus form the crystals, and so it stays liquid. But if you agitate the water, you put in some kinetic energy and the crystal forms, you can literally see the water freeze from one end of the container to the other if done right.

We had " slushy " Mountain Dew in the 70's in Missouri. The gas station allowed the machine to almost freeze and the Mountain Dew was just wonderful that way.
It was cheap to run refrigerators at very low temperatures in the 1970s because the contained freon gas (R22). Then the EPA discovered that this gas was eating the ozone layer away and causing spike in skin sarcomas.

Marvin Alvarez - "Everything is MORE EXPENSIVE IN MANHATTAN" (I was born there)... Here in Puerto Rico a similar sized (16oz. / 473ml.) non-slushy Coke sells from U$1.00-1.40 on mass-market areas (I prefer the Zero Sugar kind, which bottles are not very available in machines over here).
Here an 0.5l bottle costs around 1.15$
i mean in arizona you can go to a circle k and get 44oz coke or coke slushy for 99 cents

We have been talking about PRE-BOTTLED SOFTDRINKS, not fountain ones (in a cup). Usually pre-bottled are more expensive per ounce than fountain, but they're safer (you can't trust the stores clean their equipment frequently enough nowadays).
FUN FACT: I have pretty much deducted that the real co$t for stores of fountain softdrinks in The States is ~ U$ 0.01 / ounce (30ml.) including all supplies and overhead, so you can figure how much your nearest movieplex or venue is GOUGING you on each drink...

Science time! You can actually do this in your own home. It can be done with soda, beer or water etc. Basically the freezer can cool your drink of choice to the point where it is essentially below it's freezing temperature but without it starting to ice. A "Shock" (striking the bottom of the bottle on the counter or a hard smack with your palm on the side of it) will caused it to instantly "freeze" (ie turn into that slushy texture). This machine instructs you to open the bottle and turn it over as a way of replicating that strike effect in a more controlled way but leaves you with less slush. It's really neat though and I suggest looking up vids on how to do it (generally i think it needs to be chilled for an hour or 2 to get this effect)

You can do this with nearly any drink! It was a big thing a few years ago, but if you put a drink in the fridge and it gets to a specific temperature, you can take it out, apply some force to it (sometimes opening the bottle is enough) and it'll freeze up like a slushy 😊 my fridge is old and sometimes gets too cold, so it would happen to the water bottles in it all the time.

Start with a room temperature soda. You could use any temperature, but it's easy to get a handle on how long it takes to supercool the liquid if you know your approximate starting temperature.
Shake up the bottle and place it in a freezer. Do not disturb the soda while it is chilling or else it will simply freeze.
After about three to three and a half hours, carefully remove the bottle from the freezer. Each freezer is a little different, so you may need to adjust the time for your conditions.
There are a couple of different ways to initiate freezing. You could open the cap to release pressure, reseal the bottle, and simply turn the soda upside down. This will cause it to freeze in the bottle. You could gently open the bottle, releasing pressure slowly, and pour the soda into a container, causing it to freeze into slush while you pour. Pour the drink over an ice cube to get it to freeze. Another option is to slowly pour the soda into a clean cup, keeping it liquified. Drop a piece of ice into the soda to initiate freezing. Here, you can watch the crystals form outward from the ice cube.

You can do that trick at home,all you do is put a bottle of soda into the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes,then take out of freezer when it's still liquid,open and then close the top,and give the bottle a tap,and watch the slush appear.

This works with any bottled soda & sports drink. If you freeze it for 3 - 3.25 hours it will be near freezing and a simple nudge will let those ice crystals bloom. 💙(*-*)

The bottles are supercooled ie. the temperature of the liquid is below the usual freezinng point and when the bottle is opened it creates bubbles that form a nucleus that ice can form on, hence the slush.
I think it has to do with the temperature being at the point where it can freeze but also be liquid and just need a little kinetic energy to freeze

You just need to get coke right at its freezing point, the change in pressure is what causes the "slushing" to occur
It's kinda like when your blood boils if you're exposed to the vaccuum of space and your body depressurizes, like the pressure is what stops these liquids from changing states at a particular temperature
There are videos about it on UA-cam, one guy puts blood in a glass jar in a vaccuum chamber and its fucking disgusting to think about that happening to your body lmao but also kinda interesting that this is basically the same thing.
How to Make a Slushy Coke
1- put coke on the fridge or freezer

Agent 14 - DON'T FORGET THE SODA WHEREVER YOU PUT IT (freezer or a very cold fridge), otherwise it'll freeze solid. You have to put it just enough time to make the soda appear like on the video (liquid before you open it and slush appearing just after you open it).
The advantage of the home freeze method is there's NO ADDED INGREDIENTS to worry from, as has to be the case with the Japanese specialty soda.
Eat the sludge within the first 90 seconds - 2 minutes before it melts again... (you can put the sludge from the top in a separate PLASTIC CUP, as glass will melt it too fast)

I recently did that by accident. I put a Radler (50% beer, 50% lemonade) in the freezer and left it there for 4 hours.
It was liquid but as soon as I poured it it froze within the glass and in the bottle. It tasted amazing 😀

This is called flash freezing. You can try it at home also.
This can be done at home with a bottle of water. I imagine any bottle of drinking liquid maybe. It has to do with the temp that the drink is at. When we did it with the water bottles we would just flick the bottle and you'd see all the ice appearing. Really cool and great fun for kids.
