Please do more X Japan. They have crazy backstory, they broke up because the vocalist (Toshi) got brainwashed into joining a cult who did mental and physical harm to him and pushed him to disband the band. Few months later after this concert, Hide (pink haired guitarist) killed himself (either by accident or on purpose), Hide had solo career going on and had very different music style compared to X Japan. Yoshiki who is the pianist/drummer/composer and lyricist, has deep background, from when he was born doctors told his mother he wouldnt live very long, he had severe asthma and a fragile body, his father committed suicide when he was 10, he was already into classical music (piano) but his mother got him drums as a gift. He started drumming hard to comprehend the pain and sadness and anger due his father's passing, eventually after drumming so hard he had to wear a neckbrace and take medication, he was even collapsing on stage for the lack of oxygen, Yoshiki had surgery done to his neck/back few years ago, without it he would be paralyzed. Yoshiki composed a song for the Emperor of Japan and a song for the golden globe awards, Yoshiki had his own comic done by Stan Lee. X Japan was such a huge impact in Japanese society from their punk-ish crazy style to the music, since there wasnt a lot of that type of thinking in Japan back then, they have crazy musical influence in japanese rock, there is timeline where they say music is after X japan or before X japan, they started Visual Kei style, which then originated a lot of bands in japan. Yoshiki directed a documentary about X Japan called We Are X! Its one of the best documents ive personally seen, people from guns n roses, kiss , marilyn manson and other greatly known bands said that if X japan was to be born in USA or they would sing in english they were to be the biggest band in the world.
the pink haired guitarist hide (Hideto Matsumoto) died by accidentally falling asleep on a doorknob, doing some kind of neck-stretch while intoxicated, he died few months after X Japan disbanded in 1997, Yoshiki mainly did all of X Japans songs from lyrics to composing, but hide had done few songs for X Japan such as Sadistic Desire which is one of my favourites, and many others. hide's funeral was attended by 50 000+ people and flowers honoring his memory was stacked on 2km long lane, some fans even did copycat suicides after they heard the news. Hide has been compared to Kurt Cobain as a musician, he had extreme talent and vision about art and music, sadly we can only enjoy his musical achievements until 1998.

Rolling Stone once praised this song and called it '"November Rain' without the bullshit."

They are the largest Japanese metal band to have created visual kei since the 80s. Masters of their craft. The Last Live was at the Tokyo Dome, 1997. It, like other concerts at the Tokyo Dome, had a sold out of 55,000 people. 18 times. X Japan is respected for their great influence in Japanese music, for their strength and tragic stories, which are enough in the band. They disbanded in 1997 and reunited 10 years later. You can read all this on the wiki. The biggest hit - Kurenai (version in the Last Live, there is a version with an violin intro in 2009). I personally recommend the songs - Week End, Blue Blood, X, Rose of Pain, Silent Jealousy. There are beautiful ballads, - Say Anything, Tears, Unfinished. I wish you good luck in learning a new band for you!

This concert was iconic, the end for the most succesfull band in Japan at this time, and because the vocalist enter in a sect who says that "rock metal comes from satan". Of course years after he realized that they only go after his money and finally the band reunited almost a decade later, but without Hide, the guitarrist in the yellow jacket and red hair. He was found death in his apartament in Tokyo about two months after the concert. Suicide or accident nobody is sure. If you see in this song, Hide was really very pissed with Toshi at this time for this decision. Not because "lost the work". hide have at this time their own band and pretty popular, he don´t have money issues but because he thinks that X-Japan was a really good thing.
Without some time to study the Japan society in those times it´s very difficult to imagine how much this band change Japan´s society in those years. Yoshiki in Japan is more than "just a musician", it´s a national treasure well know and respected.
To know more about this band, try to see the documentary "We Are X", it´s complete somewere in UA-cam, surelly can find easily
    A preview...

This documentary have the view of this band from Stephen Kijak. He meets the band with no prior knowledge before they do a big concert in the Madisson Square Garden and do a really good work

At this point Toshi (singer) already announced he was leaving the band. He didn't want to do this final concert because he thought the fans hated him and wanted to attack him for quitting the band and causing the breakup. Hide ( guitarist with pink hair) had to talk him into doing this last concert. Good documentary called "We are X" that goes through the history of the band.

Endless Rain pre-dates GnR's November Rain by a couple of years! Epic ballad, epic performance!!! Nice reaction 😭👍👍🤘🤘🤘 As far as a cry challenge 🤔...1st - "Into the Light" by In This Moment, off The Dream album( the album version, there are no good live performances) inspired by a teenage fan who passed away, listening to ITM, from a congenital disorder(I believe). 2nd - Band-Maid's "Puzzle/Anemone" live acoustic from the 2018 Zepp show, 3rd - LiSA, "Humura" The First Take, and... finally...95% of Hank Williams, Sr.'s collection, lol!!! With the latter, you don't even need to listen to the music, just read the lyrics! Just make sure you have a stiff drink 🥃 and a box of tissues!!!

You react completely normally, and you noticed that what happened was not normal, with the background knowledge you react even more emotionally and every time, especially with this song. that was a landmark in music history, this band shaped a whole Japanese generation. All Japanese bands pursue this status. I've known this band since the 80's but only from bad bootlegs, I only understood how big they were 3 years ago

I love this song and I love X japan
. I like what Gene Simmons said about X japan : if X japan was from America, they would be one of the top bands in the world ! I totally agree. Toshi's voice is out of this world too. Cried countless times

yeah that was supposed to be their last song of their last performance. If you get a chance see all of last live, the audience chanted those two bars for at least 30 min after the concert. Something that is hauntingly and beautiful at the same time. See, "We are X", full documentary of the band and will get you up to speed on them. Fortunately at this time they still perform and in the U.S. Yoshiki the main composer last time I checked lives in L.A. I think they put on a show at Coachella a few years ago, I didn't even know about it. Anyway cheers, welcome to my fav band of all time.

Please react to more X Japan! If you want another simillar song you can react to "Tears". The drummer and leader of the band Yoshiki made that song for his father that killed himself when Yoshiki was a kid.

They've got a reasonable variety of songs... The early stuff is more speed metal and punk, then later on they start shifting more into more hard rock and power ballads... Although the hard rock still has some kicking drums to it... Don't really hear it in this song, but the drumming usually goes hard.

This video is X Japan's last live because the vocalist, Toshi. decided to leave from the band for joining the Religious Group.
Shortly after the dissolution, the guitarist who has pink hair, committed suicide, and the original bassist, Taiji also committed suicide. After that, Toshi realized that he had been brainwashed by a religious group and was deceived by the money, so decided to leave from the religious group. Since Toshi left from religious group, Yoshiki called Toshi to ask starting X Japan with new guitarist, and bassist. Yoshiki had decided to go to USA and held a world tour. The concert at Madison Square Garden was also successful. Yoshiki , leader of this band and also pianist performed solo activities mainly in the USA and succeeds in a piano recital at Carnegie Hall. He was also offered to composed some movies' soundtracks
