I'd like to see Angus' tone on the whole Back in Black album. The opening on Shoot To Thrill always gives me chills for some reason. Such a powerfull sound! Don't know if you want to make more of these, because I love them!

Rick, you and your entire crew are so generous with your offerings. This video is absolutely amazing!! Who else would so freely delve into all these fine details of the entire recording process from top to bottom?! Really amazing. I agree with other comments on this thread....more videos like this please! 🙏😊 Thanks so much.

Absolutely solid gold for all of the music junkies especially, like myself!! As a drummer I really appreciate seeing both AVH and Bonzo’s studio sounds recreated. Thank you from the heart to all of you who contributed to this project. Seriously, y’all are saints and sinners of the best variety. ✌🏽🎶🙏🏼

You are a real music enthusiast! Your attention to detail with regard to the recreation of the sound on these recordings demonstrates how much you LOVE ❤️ music! As I’ve grown older I think I’ve lost a lot of that loving feeling but when I was younger I don’t think I was even close to the enthusiasm and love you have for music. It’s great that you’re able to make a living on something that you love!

I really enjoyed all 4 of these vids the first time around. And I enjoyed them just as must this time! I hope you do some more of these vids in the future. I would like some bass vids myself. A good follow up to the Iommi vid would be the bass sound of "Into the Void", may favorite Sabbath tune. Geezer's bass is so heavy, black holes cannot resist it's pull. Another idea is John Paul Jones' bass sound on LZ II. In "Heartbreaker", his bass has such a nasty, dirty grinding sound exemplary of the entire album.

I'm a drummer and when he said he did a couple more tweeks tuning the snare drum I envisioned him changing the batter head (one you hit) and the reso head (bottom) back and forth for several hours lol. It's unreal how much different your sound will be when you change the reso tension and then the batter. I don't specifically remember my drum teacher in the 5th grade band teaching us how to replace heads and tune the snare and for some reason I remember him showing us to just tighten the heads about as tight as you can which isn't correct but lol... Anyway, one thing another pro drummer showed me is that after you get the reso head about right if you tighten or loosen just the lugs where the snare wires are on each side it'll greatly change the way the snare sounds and even the way it plays. Same thing if you adjust all the lugs besides the lugs where the snare wires are. The snare wires sit between 2 lugs on each side. So there's 4 all together. Tighten or loosen just those and see how it effects the way the drum plays... There's been a few times I've spent several hours tweeking the snare sound. Eventuay I ended up just tightening everything up about as tight as possible before it breaks and perfect tone 😜

Re Ramble on, I often find a thinner pick will bring in some of the brighter attack. I really like the acetate thin ones for this. It seems like this might be a part of the sound Rick was going for...edited - playing closer to the bridge certainly helped a lot.

That acoustic reminds me of my old Eston from the 70s made in Italy it had an adjustable bridge and about a 1/4 inch of lacquer on it, I sanded it off the top but I don't think it made much difference lol. But it had a great neck and sounded really cool with a DeArmond sound hole P/U in it. I've still got it somewhere.
