    Got this board last year with the help of your advice. Riding switch is something I am not sure I’ll ever get to do with it but absolutely love it in every other department. The way it catches on a carve, just holds you in place which is quite a shock when coming from a softer board. Another good review, thanks

    I am stuck between this one and t finder. It will be my only board though, so leaning more towards the Otto. However did anything change now that it’s being produced in China? I have read somewhere that it is softer and not as stiff? How would this affect the performance?
    Thank for the Great video’s btw💪

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  10 днів тому

      No not really. Almost the same exact board and maybe a little softer but still very close to the original flex. Flex, like weight varies from board to board so some will be the same as before and some will be softer but the overall ride will be very similar. Thanks!

      I have the TF and just got an Otto for better switch riding and thinking it wouldn’t carve as well. I was surprised that the heel edge carves were so much better than the TF - just locks in so well. Not yet sure how much the bindings play a part in that (burton cartels on the TF, union falcors on the Otto). Love it

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  11 годин тому

      So @markharwood5320 if the heel edge didn't turn well but the toe side did, it means there is a problem with how you turn or how you had the bindings set up on the TF. Most likely it's the Cartels if the Falcor's. With Cartels did you rotate your high backs and try to center your boot on board? Not that they work as well as Union for adjustability. Did you adjust your heel loop to match the size of your boot?

    • @markharwood5320
      @markharwood5320 6 годин тому

      @ thanks for the reply. For adjustments I’d added forward lean and gone posi-posi stance on the cartels + TF. The unions were as they came out of the box and set up duck foot on the Otto but the difference was dramatic. I’ll have to experiment with swapping bindings around.

    1,70cmx75kgx43feet, which size is better for me??? 153 could be a good choice?
    I’ve got the TF 154 and feel so good but I want something more playful just to ride with my wife that she is a basic skier or even with my friends like an AM board to do everything except jibbing and park, just small and medium jumps.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  8 днів тому +1

      If you like the 154 TF the 153 Otto will be similar to that feeling only more playful like you want.

    • @papasgormita
      @papasgormita 8 днів тому

      @ how wide is underfoot? Cause you said in the video that is wider than your usual snowboard and you dress a size 9 boots

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  8 днів тому +1

      The 153 Otto is literally the equivalent to the 154 TF you own. So if the 154 TF works for you and you want something softer/easier then the Otto 153 will work for you. If you want a board that carves harder and rides faster than your 154 TF then go 157

    Battle of the indie brand all mountain white top sheets with "Shapes" in the name: Korua Shapes Otto vs United Shapes Horizon (or Cadet?)?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому

      Really depends. If you want to carve hard the Otto is the one. If you like to ride switch and want a softer more playful one board quiver go Horizon. If you see a lot of pow and want something that floats incredibly well and also want something pretty fun to carve too go Cadet.

    Hello I’m 173 cm and weight about 78 kg, boot size 9.5, i would say higher advanced. For last 7 years i run Gravity Contra 156. I love to carve, sometimes go off piste. Would you recomend me this board? If yes, should i get the 157 size + what bindings would you recomend?
    Thank you in advance for your recommendations.

      Yeah 157 would be best and I'd look at Union Force or Union Atlas or Rome Katana or Bataleon Astro or Nitro Phantom +.

      @@thegoodridesnow I’m 5,7ft and weight 158. I’ve only had one board which is a Pathron True Twin 154 which fits me fine but I was a beginner when I bought it. I’m a high intermediate now. (No park, just resort)
      From what I’ve seen in your reviews the Jones Frontier, the Gremlin, the orca and this Otto are the boards I should be looking at for this season.
      Thanks again!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому +1

      Not really sure on that. Especially the Gremlin. That's got almost the same catchy/technical/locked in feel as full camber and it's not ideal for intermediates. The Otto 153 would be a good fit. The Orca 150 could work too bur really unsure based on the limited info you gave me. Updated for 2025? The review seemed like it was from the OG OTTO, am I wrong?
    I thought this was an overhaul review.
    They need to lighten this board up, not Plus-like light that skips out. Once they have this figured out, it’ll be one of the best boards on the market.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому +1

      Yes and No. I updated the old table and on snow reviews I had up for this but the board hasn't changed. I really didn't like my old reviews. I'll think of a better title so its not missleading. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah agreed. I would like it to be lighter but only if it keeps its dampness.

      Help me decide looking at Korua Otto …Nidecker alpha apx …Jones stormwolf…ample singular..what carves hardest while still maintaining good float.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому

      Those boards are all so different that you need to factor in other things vs. just what carves the hardest. If you want to do this right hit me here to give me the info I need to help you much better. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
      Otto is great for an all mtn board and better than the Alpha APX if you want something that rides more centered and has a true all mtn feel but floats pretty well. Singular carves just as hard but isn't as good in powder. Storm Wolf doesn't have a very balanced turning radius better for narrow drawn out higher speed carves and rides way back from the tail.

    • @bennik5089

      I have the same question. DT Otto or TransitionF? One of these should add my Ride Warpig as my glacier board.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому +1

      @ziqizhou-jq3hb Not really similar. Two pretty different shapes, flex personalities and overall rides. The Otto is stiffer, has a faster base and I like the way this carves much better. The DT has a more dynamic but a little softer flex and it's better for getting air. Both float in pow equally well when set all the way back.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому

      @bennik5089 not sure if either works for that and all three boards are very different. When you say "Glacier Board" do you mean a board for hard days in the spring/early seasons? @@thegoodridesnow yes. I have a deep thinker 157 from 2018. As my camber board for hard snow days a glacier. With my nitro boots 43,5 and my malavitas L I have some issues with toe drag. I thought I take a smaller bindings an hope toe drag is gone. Or I ll take another wider board. My warpig M is my goto daily and I prefere the with. (I'm am 183 tall botts 43,5 and about 93 kg)
      My thought about a new board : the booths korua boards or libtech golden orca..
      Thanks for the informations in our videos and for your answers!!!!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah that is a lot of boot for that narrow 157 and not an ideal board for harder snow. Don't change bindings or boots but instead get a board that better fits them. 10.5's can work with some medium boots but its harder to center them on the binding/board. Again...you didn't state the Warpig's size so that makes it hard for me to help. Golden Orca has great grip but a different camber profile which you might or might not be into based on what you are used to. Maybe consider the Lib Tech Dynamo 159 or Gnu AntiGravity 159 as it works really well with your boots/bindings and you might love that camber instead for hard snow riding. It will blow your mind how well it grips vs. what you have now. Then you can use your warpig for pow. I'd get the Otto 157 if you want something stiffer, not tapered with a faster base and a little better float than the Dynamo or Antigravity but it won't have the grip which seems very important. It will only be a little more girppy than the DT you have now. Thanks for the good words and If you have more questions hit me here. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
