I took responder-1 last year. As a 25Y NR-EMT-B, volunteer FF/ First responder/ Rescue squad member and sworn Peace officer I can attest to the quality of Bears TCCC classes. Absolutely the best 4 hour block of instruction on emergency bleeding control I've ever been to.

This one was hard to watch. It really hit home for me. My father passed in 2013 when his femoral artery was ripped out of his leg. Just a normal every day accident. Working on the ranch... 20 minutes from the nearest hospital. I had to learn the hard way but, every vehicle has four tourniquets, and a small hospital (it seems) in my closet. Thanks for everything you do, Bear. I hope I never have to use any of the things I’ve bought.

As a CNA, I was given a lot of first aid and first responder training. These TCCC videos you've been doing, Bear, not only have information I pray I will never need, but are more understandable than the classes I've had before. You and yours are deeply appreciated. Keep fighting the good fight against ignorance, brother. Shalom!

Anyone can look up Refuge medical videos for each kit and Bear himself tells you what components are in the kits. You can make the kits yourself, but it will be more expensive. But fact that he tells you exactly what to get instead of “buy this from me” says all you need to know about this man’s heart and character! Many blessings to you and your family/tribe, and thank you for living your convictions daily!

Excellent presentation, thank you. I was hit and temporarily killed by a car as I walked across the highway I live on. I wasn't bleeding terribly but the only thing not broken, road rashed, ripped, torn, concussed or shredded was my right hand. It was my lucky day as there were paramedics about 100 yards away but when they got to me after my 40 yard flight through the air I had no pulse, no respirations, no BP. I was definitely out of body. They are the ONLY reason I'm here. First thing they did was to stabilize me with IV fluids. The hospital ride from here is 20-25 minutes moving fast with siren going and I did get straight into the ER and it was a two year journey to walking again without a walker or a cane. Those people saved my life because they knew what they were doing and they knew how to do it quickly and without any hesitation. Practice, practice, practice. Thanks again for the reminders and things people need to hear. Great work. Please let us know where we can hear your music some time, K? Thanks again. My main channel on youtube is called monahawk where most of my music is. Stay frosty.

As a former level 1 trauma nurse and EMT, the info in this video is on point. Also, when someone is decompensating, most of the time you won't be able to feel a pedal pulse. That's a good indicator. Every vehicle should have a tourniquet and a driver who knows how to use it. I think Refuge Medical's wound care bucket is very thought through and the best kit to have in your vehicle for what you would need in a motor vehicle accident. Nicely done, Bear.

Received wound care pack today. Now in a pack on the back of my seat of the jeep. S.O.B. ordered Saturday. Along with a extra CAT TQ, for practice. And now saving up for the next closest class to me. I appreciate the HELL out of the videos myself. A nice stop gap in the mean time. It's been 25 years since I had the training. Times and things change. Along with my old man memory. Lol. Trained at barely 18 in basic training Fort Knox now seems like a different life time. So thanks again. Blessings to you all!! 🙏

Watching a lot of documentaries on Vietnam war. I saw a lot of medic’s say they would see soldiers with their arm or leg blown off. Soldiers would think those men would have priority to get to field hospital but a medic would put a tourniquet on them and they would be able to last longer than a soldier with a lot smaller wound bleeding like crazy. Some men are so amazing and on a completely different level then the rest of us. These men perform surgical procedures on a battlefield. Your one of them Bear I’m learning everything I can to be honest since I never been in a situation like that idk how I would act it’s scary to think about but I’d rather get as much knowledge as possible so maybe have a chance to survive or save a life. So thank you man appreciate it.

Always a blessing because you don't have to do any of this and just sell stuff. Since I've been a subscriber I've been carrying a tourniquet, it's not the ones you sell but it works and have been waiting for my 3.0 to come. Just happy that I'm supporting a great cause. I spent 23 years in the fire service/EMS in an ALS department. Though I saw and treated a lot of trauma in that time, my education, training, and experience was geared toward an ambulance being on scene pronto. At the start of my career we were using MAST trousers and tourniquets were a no-no. 20 years of warfare changed the rules as my career was ending, so keep the updated info coming. Also, my uncle died of a severed femoral artery, it didn’t take long at all, even though his leg was still a sealed volume.

Very good video. When I was on active duty, many moons ago, I was, what should have been, terminally injured/wounded. I was blessed 💯. In two hours, I was given over 10-units(liters)of blood. That was on scene and while I was in transit being medivacked. I,am truly blessed, and lucky to be alive. I don't need tattoos, I've got some great scars. Keep up the good work. Semper Fidelis

Yesterday I heard about a guy who was carrying trash to the curb and didn't notice a shard of glass was sticking out. It raked across the back of his calf and cut the artery. He ran back in the house and his wife , who happened to be a RN, knew it was a bad deal right away. She grabbed a towel and applied like a tourniquet. As soon as she gets it tied up he passed out. She had dialed 911 when she was looking for a towel. Fortunately they were a mile from the closest EMT so they were on site within 5 minutes Again, fortunately they were a short drive to the ER AND there happened to be a trauma surgeon there at the time. Happy ending. Lots of fortunatelys lined up.
Made me think of all the close calls I've seen working with tools and equipment. I'm not prepared so I'll be ordering a few kits for my house, a few for the barn, and some for my truck.

I always think about longterm care after these wounds with no official services available. Like a chest wound, healing a punctured lung, or what to do after an arterial bleed is controlled with pressure. I think this is where having a group comes in handy but long term care of serious injuries in shtf would be a big deal. Being mindful and Not getting hurt in the first place is probably best lol.
