I knew about the story about him almost dying but Wow. I didn’t realize they found out she was pregnant with Haiden too. What a gnarly story. Definitely a sign to change.

This is far from the YNW Melly trial bro and not a place I expected to see you comment on. It's crazy to see my very separate worlds collide, and it messes with my mind when it happens. It's almost like when I find an army buddy that's into drill music.

I said it on the first part and I’ll say it again… Haiden Deegan and the Lawrence brothers alone got me back into watching racing since 2018. I got older and life hit me. This season of SX and MX really gave me something to look forward to! I miss riding so much!

Sick interview, love how open Brian is about his journey to where he is now as I have always been a fan. Metal Mulisha was big when I lived in Southern California. The Deegz is going to tear it up 2024..

Well I'd hope since he's in the weaker class.
Hampshire would definitely be a thorn in his side.
That's why he wasn't at Anaheim, that 250 field lineup was too strong for him to start off in and possibly lose all the hype

I am from Kentucky and several friends of mine i grew up with raced pro against him and knew Brian well in the early nineties. He was just like any other racer, trying, hoping to get just a little sponsorship to follow thier dreams. His story went a path different than others, but everyone takes different paths. Some make thier own paths, some are helped down a path by others. No matter if you travel that path alone or are helped and guided with help by others, the drive and determination to go that direction must come from within. Point being, one could be given everything needed to become something. However, no matter how much one is given, no matter how much one is led, the desire, the passion, the will to achieve has to come from within. You give every child Haiden lined up against on a PW50 the opportunity that Haiden was given, probably 5% or less would be where he is today. The opportunity Brian gave Haiden means nothing. The way Brian and Marisa raised him, the passion to succeed they showed him, that and other life lessons were haidens to run with. Run Haiden run!

Nah if any other kid would have star yamaha on their side at lorettas and totally screwed Deegan out of a claimed bike then they would have the same opportunities....
But the deegans and yamaha totally pulled some Shady nonsense on an innocent young racer who was just trying to get faster.
They couldn't stand it and wouldn't let the claim go through....
Dedgans and yamaha can kick rocks acting like a bunch of spoiled Chad's

First of all, so stoked on this interview. I think its the best I've seen yet. Secondly, am I tripping, or can you literally not help but to love Brian Deegan? I mean, every single one of these interviews I watch, I gain more and more respect for him. Its remarkable. We should all strive to have a mindset like Brain. Lastly, I hope everyone can appreciate how difficult it must be to expose your own vulnerabilities on camera for the world to see. However, people love it (myself included), and Brain obviously knows that. Lettttsssss Go #38

I’m currently going through pretty much that exact same injury myself where I came off my bike and took a handle bar to the kidney rupturing it collapsing my lung at the same time. laying on the ground for 1 hour waiting for the chopper literally biting my tongue as my life is leaving my body. After 4 hours in theatre, 4 blood transfusions and some insane rehab, I live to tell the tale. pretty awesome and refreshing knowing I shared the same fate as Brian someone who I’ve looked up to for a long time now and where he is at now gives me so much hope that I’ll be back and ripping again in no time, so rad!!

Statistically, the world is a much safer place than it was in the 70’s, 80’s, & 90’s. The reason why we think it isn’t is because we have much more information in the palm of our hand.
But when you have a phone in your pocket, cameras are everywhere, and access to much more self defense equipment, our kids are way safer than our parents were. We just have the illusion we’re not safer.

I'm sure there will be many haters chime in to say I told you so, Haiden was given everything. But what will deflate them the most will be hearing Brian confirm he acknowledges that it is somewhat true. However Brian explaining how the passion, the growth, giving the tools and opportunities came organically is what every parent would do for their child if they could and that was what made them happy and the family unit stronger. The haters feed themselves with envy, one of the seven sins.

    • @socaljimmyd
      @socaljimmyd 6 місяців тому

Brian gave Haiden the tools to succeed. You can’t buy talent and ability on a dirt bike no matter how much money you have. What it boils down to is Brian got him the bikes to ride and Haiden did the work and is successful. People are jealous of that and that’s where the hate comes from. I applaud Brian, he worked his ass off his whole career to provide for his family, he does that and people hate on him for it. I grew up riding dirt bikes, got my first bike when I was 5, I was super fast as a kid around the natural tracks in the hills we made. My parents just wouldn’t let me race. I wanted to but they were against it. Nothing I could do about that. Who knows maybe I could have went pro and made a living from it. I grew up with Mike Keidrowski and it worked for him. Unfortunately he raced when the money wasn’t like it is today and you can retire and have a nice life with the money you made. Mike is now a superintendent for a big construction company and he absolutely loves his job. I’m now a union finish carpenter and make a good living and I love my job as well.

Brian played the Metal Mulisha “evil guy” all the way to the bank. I believe the revenue was somewhere close to $100 million a year, many school districts banned the clothing brand believing it represented a gang, etc. If you were in Southern California during the late 90s early 2000s you basically couldn’t go anywhere without seeing a Metal Mulisha shirt or flat bill. That brand was everywhere!

    • @spartanracer

I remember seeing it only in stores like Tilly’s and No Fear in the early 2000s by the late 2000s/early 2010s i saw the brand everywhere.
I see way less of it now but I still rock it all the time. Their clothing I think is better now than when it was sponsored by Rockstar.

I know the feeling. I got famous and this same thing happened to me. Some crazy delusional person was drugging and poisoning me in disbelief they were my daddy. Lost 8 years of my life. Got famous and than woke up one day with a "middleman". Use to drug me me and force beliefs into my melted brain. Try to control me and force company logos into my life. Like a killer Pinocchio. Some puppet sent to kill me. 8 years gone. Use to unbolt my bike parts and break things so I couldn't leave. As if the broken back and eyes rolled in back of my head wasn't enough. That's my tv dad.. and if everything I say gets out to the world and makes headlines thanks to all the rich people tracking me, than this is what's going to get out. Not what shoe brand I prefer
