I love how he remains anonymous!! Just means he only choose to be acknowledged through his art.. so Dope and admiring. Hes the epitome of humbleness. Just to know he can be a multi millionaire for his work yet..he doesnt give a damn. Thats badass.
what makes banksy so relatable is him being anonymous. if we put a face to that name he will loose what makes him "banksy". because he isn't just a person or a bunch of people. he is the civillians who can't express their emotions and thoughts. that's why the art world both doesn't like him and love him. they think he is too "shallow". even though the art world itself is so shallow.
I met him in Sydney in the early nineties. I didn’t know until much later (years later) that it was him. I was a Street kid and he was painting ‘rats into tunnels’ on the gutters in kings cross. On Darlinghurst road. Then he went down to Melbourne
Here’s a fact, in the early 90’s I worked in Bristol with a gentleman called Peter Gunningham, the family lived in the middle/upper class area called Clifton, his son, Robin, went to a private school, then art college. Peter was interviewed by a UK newspaper & was asked if his son was Banksy, in his typical style he would not confirm or deny his son was indeed the artist. I believe Robin Gunningham is Banksy & the geographical evidence does suggest this & if the masked images of the artist are genuine then there is definitely a family resemblance.
Banksy is so fxxxing clever and his work is usually funny, cute, and charming and then, occasionally - boom! - it’s horrific and jarring. I don’t know enough about art to say he’s a great artist like Rembrandt or Van Gogh but I can’t think of any other artist I’d rather have a beer with (or “a pint” I guess they’d call it over on his side of the pond). I saw the exhibition “Who is Banksy?” here in Tokyo last weekend. Great stuff. This video, too👍 Thanks for the upload.

People have always instantly jumped to the conclusion that Banksy is one individual. The reason the artists identity has never been discovered is because BANKSY is actually a group of 6 individuals and BANKSY is an acronym of each of their first names. Geographically, this ensures the underground group has a wider reach. Each piece of work is usually planned very quickly and the group is meticulous in how they plan and what, if any, digital footprint they leave when planning before designating which one of the 6 depending on location and availability will deliver the work. This is the main reason all of BANKSY 's work is stencils, to ensure consistency within the group. The nation needs to be woke to this if anyone wants a real chance at discovering the artists' true identities.

His exhibition at Bristol City Museum was amazing. I think that I saw him do a stencil in Weston Super Mud near the RNLI station umpteen years ago. I'm still unsure as to what Fergie our slimey ex mayor was trying to do getting hold of a painting that Banksy did for a youth club. He kept it in the City Museum for a while. I think it was given back to the youth club after Banksy intervened.
“My Darling Clementine” was Ford’s fantasy of the OK Corral. The gun fight which included “Oldman” Clanton on the set at Old Tucson, was so wrong. Oldman Clanton was already dead, historically. It was an entertaining movie, but nothing more.
