It would be nice if someone created an amazing language learning app that taught you how to speak, type, and write in other languages and made a list determining which language you are the best to worst in and after every like week or 2 they’ll give you a test etc etc etc etc. that DOESN’T make you pay a subscription to be able to complete the language courses
i heard coursera is good but it does not have every language
Well that would be a lot for free lol the creator has to make some money
@@mfw2868 i suppose
And is open source
Ikr at this point, I want to make an app like that in the future but it would take a lot of work
For those just wanting to learn anothe kanguage just for the sake of it, I would suggest to start with western European ones first as they require minimal transition between each other. Yes english applies here as well.
I would like to ask you something! I speak English, Portuguese and Spanish but I decided to learn Japanese about 1 month and a half ago - I understand the "Kana" alphabets which are the simplest alphabets in Japanese and I can speak very basic sentences. I never used Textbooks for it - just apps, youtube and online free courses. So, do you think it's possible to learn such a hard language as Japanese for westerners in less than 1 year?
@Hugo Jepsen Maybe, if you are willing to internalize concepts to individual symbols for at least half of that year.
The issue isn’t the memorization of symbols in of itself, but the contextual understanding of different combinations of meaning.
I have question
👍Excellent demonstration. Review is clear and well-paced. Thank you!
We didn't know about number 3, thanks a lot!
I enjoy your videos. Great delivery 👍
Really helpful!
One day I will make a perfect free language app 🥴
Thank you for your content!
Noice! A video on something I didn't even know I wanted. :)
Thank you techgumbo sir i requested for this ...and you upload it... I had subscribe very few channels and you are one of that channels so i have no regret for subscribing your channel ..you're awesoooooome
Incredible speech learning websites along with the Google Translate. 👌
Thank you so much, I was looking forward to this!!!❤
Best presentation u gat i loved it thats how it goes u r example to other's 💥✅
Great video. Thanks a lot..
thank you!!! I think Mango works for me cz listening to conversations provides me more information as an observer. there's a balance between technical and practical. that's exactly what I have been looking for. great content! helps a lot! tnx
I'm hoping to learn Portuguese. I'm looking forward to getting back there for a visit for the 1st time in 40 years!
Good information 👍
Thanks for highlighting my language, Swahili 🇰🇪
I was just thinking of this the other day, how great it would be to learn a different language for travel once restrictions are lifted.
Thank you for this video. I've been watching a lot of Korean Dramas and thought it would be fun to try to learn the language. I've started using Duo Lingo, but feel I've been missing something with it - and I must because I've yet to learn any words. I appreciate the suggestions for other programs and will definitely look into a few of these.
Another good options along side with Google Translate. ✌
Thanks!
Your channel is great
thank you! now i can speak many languages at once! i am trying to learn japanese, greek, and arabic!
Best of luck to you! I want to learn japanese at some point too :-)
How can I do that ?I wanna learn new language fast
Thank you for all of the great content! Do you take recommendations for videos? I'm learning the Viola and was wondering if you guys knew about any free Instrument learning websites?
Violin? Yeah sorry idk
@@chipfry1550 viola is an instrument, they’re not referring to a violin
@@hibiscusqueen3461 ohhh ok
@@hibiscusqueen3461 I’ve searched it up, they look the exact same???
very helpful thanks,,,,, can you make a top 5 translation apps/websites
I don't know many, but I've heard and sometimes used Deepl and I'm very pleased with it. Also, just for a simple text translation, I found chatgpt to do wonders (I type: eg. "translate this into french: ...")
Thank you so much 🖤

0:00 - Hi! 👋
8:06 - 393rd thumbs up from me! 👍 Cheers!
That Duolingo owl is a gangster.
great video! i known of busuu to we all know of the No.1 spot pick which came as no shock.
as one of many into Vtubers that speak all sorts of languages note able one's kiryu coco & kureiji ollie who switch from Japanese & English flawlessly with ollie adding in basa Indonesia and kiara takanashi with English, Japanese and a native german speaker the crazed sparked an interest for many to learn other languages or to get back at it for both the streamers and viewers worldwide!
Thanks to TechGumbo for making content that is actually useful, instead of the usual clickbait crap usually found on UA-cam.
Thanks for this video bro. Mexico will now be taking over China in manufacturing. Or at least, a lot. So, learning Spanish is NOW a must for business people. This video is helpful.
I'm hoping Tagalog (Philippines) language is a vailable on one of these aps. Paying a monthly fee is well worth it.
@@charlesdoesmore5488 why does every good app have to have subscriptions/premium stuff-I’d just like an amazing language learning app that’s completely free no subscriptions whatsoever
I like Duolingo because the things are animated and easy to use but the movitation cannot be kept for much long
It would be nice if someone created an Amazing language learning app that taught you how to speak, type and write in other languages
So may be i can do?
For people that really want to learn a language proper study and a lot of immersion is the only way
these apps just help you ease in but you won't get near fluency with them
I wanna learn Norwegian idk why but i will
is it avalable for pc
finally a good
app
Can I get certificates from website after learning a new language?
are there any free sites to learn cantonese from? I have family and friends that speak cantonese but I cannot speak and I am in desperate need to learn for free.
How's it going?
I love all of this in the list plus some more but I hate duolingo tbh - it's the worst learning app because of many factors:
1. it's easy to get bored with it
2. most of the days, you'll just be on the app to get XP and you'll forget everything
3. TOO MANY ADS.
I personally prefer:
1. UA-cam
2. Memrise
3. Mondly
4. Anki (flashcards)
5. italki/hellotalk to practice with native speakers (most of them are super nice and ready to speak with you)
Espanol, por favor.
So the Spanish army is too complicated but the Portuguese one is simple
pls choose polish
For those having a hard time learning a language, just use multiple of the apps at once!
Is it for free on Duolingo?
Yes dualingo is free to use
Music?
We can also learn a language through g translate
Yes boy I always use google translate
Yes you can, but *Google Translate isn’t always right*
Duolingo doesn't have Portugal Portuguese language.
It does wdym
Oh wait nevermind I read that wrong somehow
So many programs need a mobile phone, nowadays. Those of us who use desktop PCs get left behind..
At this point you only need PC for games and heavily rendered projects.
Busuu is the best ❤️
But it isn't free
I started Chinese on it and I disagree.
I think super lingo is the best in Chinese
Team Duolingo 🖐️✋
It seems as if Duolingo rules the roost, with its gamified learning strategy.
me trying to speak basic french because i took Spanish in 8th grade, so im searching stuff about languages but has a over college ELA level:

I do not recommend duolingo on long term language learning. My grandma wanted to learn english with duolingo, had 99days strike and completed the whole course and that's it, she still doesn't speak good english (she's i think at A1-A2 level) but she can't keep learning cause that's the end.
So......... why is the USA flag in the thumbnail?
Cuz it's English
English is a language🥰
2:31 how to greet a friend
How me and my friend greet each other:
Me: :0 FRENNNN
My friend: :0 TEDDYYYYY
Me:ECHOOOO
*hug*me:I missed you
My friend:me too
Me:wanna go out for dinner I’m hungry
Her:we always are
Me:LOL you’re right
And no not friends with benefits she is my crush but still 🥲✨
Duolingo number one? Really? The only two things the page has to offer is gamification and a very large selection of languages including made-up languages. From the language teaching perspective it completely archaic because it's based on translating artificial sentences over and over again, a method widely regarded as most uneffective unless you're learning ancient languages like Latin. There's a limited number of translations judged correct which is especially visible on higher levels so it comes down to memorizing a small number of variations and not to independent and conscious use of language. Error reporting has never worked as administrators have admitted themselves. Discussions related to each sentence have recently been disabled but even if they were open, all questions were answered by non-teachers reciting grammar rules and being unable to explain them further. Even if your answer was correct but the app founded it to be wrong, any attempts to report this fact are constantly ignored. So, if someone wants to be quickly bored and annoyed that's the best option, but not for learning a language.
Thank you for this video. I've been watching a lot of Korean Dramas and thought it would be fun to try to learn the language. I've started using Duo Lingo, but feel I've been missing something with it - and I must because I've yet to learn any words. Duolingo is not actually very helpful. If you are really looking to learn any new language, try the other websites mentioned here. They are a lot more helpful.
@@pookie.bearcubs Thanks. I have added Memrise & Duo Cards and feeling like I'm learning more. I really appreciate the advice. Thank you ❗
I've also started working on Spanish again.
I found Duolingo way too simple. I learned English at 14 years old and I learned more in a week just in school than in a week with duolingo lol. I will give the other websites a try. I wish I knew someone that spoke the language I wanna learn tho, that helped me the most with english.
@@denissemedina4619 Me too. The approach of these apps isn't very good.
