Recently started my Master's in Materials Science and Engineering and if it was not for these videos I probably would not have passed my exams.... Your teaching skills, knowledge and passion convey the topics perfectly! I am sure I will be back
Good day sir my name is Emmanuel please I'll like to talk to you private about the two courses I'm about to study in University of Arizona , of which material science is included. @@TaylorSparks
Just came across your videos and I am super excited to go through the playlist. I am currently writing my Master's thesis on life cycle assessment. (I study environmental engineering) I hated material science during my bachelor's (industrial engineering) because I didn't see the bigger picture. But you explained it very nicely and I am sure it will help me in the future if I understand more about materials and the different characteristics. Greetings from Denmark :)
I'm a professional japanese-style knife sharpener getting curious about making knives or just growing this curiosity into something more... I stumbled across this playlist and am just starting now! Thanks ahead of time I'm curious about where this will lead me!
amazing course! im a metallurgical engineering graduate and im reviewing for board exams. the videos are very efficient for reviewing my subjects. thankss
thank you so much for recording these videos! i knew that this course is intersting but my teacher makes it boring!! thank you again . god bless you mr sparks
Hello dear Professor, I am in my final year in Mechanical enginnering. I got the book that your are using in this class, can you please provide the syllabus so that I can see exactly what sections you are doing. I am basically retaking the class with you. I got an A in this class, but I didn't feel like my Professor could explain better than you. Big thank you from Connecticut.
I will be posting the slides and course material to github (username sp8rks) in a new repo in the next week or two. I suggest the book by callister. There are many additions and they don't change very much, so I would just buy the cheapest to used one that you can find.
@@platones9667 github.com/sp8rks/MaterialsInformatics Enjoy! By the way, I will be teaching this course again starting in January. So expect many new videos, slides, and notebooks coming soon.
In fact this is the same thing I have been searching for on this channel. It has been over 3 years since these videos were uploaded. I hope I find videos on Metallography and microstructures. @TaylorSparks Students and researchers all over the world are benefitting from your videos. We say thank you
I decided to enroll in community college and I was able to enroll in intro to materials science. I am so disillusioned with my career so I'm hoping the class will give me some guidance in what I want to do.
@@wanderingoakwoodworking kind of depends on your interests. I think polymers and ceramics are both fundamental courses for material Science though. Materials processing is also great and semiconductors.
Is this the accompanying course for "Materials Science and Engineering: An Introduction" by William Callister and David Rethwisch? i am major in material science and engineering, is this course suit for me?THANKS for answering.i am a undergraduate in china,it is my first time to learn the course on youtube.THANKS for answering.
Switch to the University of Utah 😝 jk, I would say mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or chemistry would all give you complimentary skills
Just a word of advice. You sometimes tend to lower your voice to a near mumble for key phrases or words but loudly enunciate words such as “but”. I struggled with the audio and this made it harder to follow your point at times.
I actually saw a huge spike in my viewers the moment that he posted that! Hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you got questions. Materials science can change your life
Amazing course, your enthusiasm about the subject is contagious. Thanks a lot for making this available for everyone.
Thank you!!! I put so much into teaching!

So rad. Enjoy! Materials science. It's so fun to understand why and how blacksmithing and bladesmithing works.
I'm a software engineer and yet the fact that you present it so well makes it interesting enough to watch.
thanks!!

Thanks homie! Stick around for the whole series.
amazing content and playlist. im saving this playlist for later. thanks mr taylor (i am a student in physics but focusing about material)
It's my pleasure!! You will love materials. I've got a playlist for materials informatics as well that you might really like!

Hi, I just started this playlist and was wondering if I can access the lecture pdf’s anywhere. Love your content!
I have not. I need to create an open shareable version of them, but right now they need a bit of work.
Send me an email to sparks@eng.utah.edu and I can email you a copy though.
If my school dont offer material engineer in undergrad, what should I major in to prepare myself

Mr. Taylor, could you recommend some textbook to me ?
I think callisters introduction to material science and engineering is the classic book to study
