heres a the more you know kinda thing:That claw swipe in FF is called rake iirc which beasts with the behemoth-like body often use, I mostly remember Fafnir doing this to me in FFXII oh and the behemoth king (in some ff games there are behemoths that are like giant bout the size of the admiral with giant blades but in FFXIV there are no such things so the behemoth king became behemoth, def in FFXII there were these smaller behemoths)
Dunno if anyone else has mentioned it to you yet, but you can also use the meal table to avoid the meteor, and it's not as tricky to access as the tent, usually.

Little tip from me:
If you just want to make the Drachen armor then look for people doing the "The legendary beast" quest (or whatever it's called, the one where you only fight the Behemoth for one phase). Because it's 10 times easier and you still get some rewards. So it's a decent alternative if you keep getting rekt in the main quest.

that should be an obvious thing to do for experienced casuals, but great to mention it for newer players that aren´t familiar with the games farming mechanics yet.
after you beat him once. all you have to due is use plunder blade calico. use temporal mantle run down to stage 1. just attack and collect items. after 2 or 3 times doing this you have enough items for armor. no real need to fight him

@@primallionheart5318 If you have the update that made Lunastra available, you get a series of quests (blue exclamation point in Astera to start them) that eventually leads to fighting Luna herself. The reward is the Temporal Mantle. If the quest giver doesn't show on the map, you probably need to raise your hunter rank.

Hey @Gameconomist just wanted to tell you for Advanced Tip #1 that you can also avoid dying from the ecliptic meteor by sitting at the canteen when it’s cast. The youtuber, NCH Productions discovered that trick when Behemoth first came out.
Too bad it doent work if you fail damage check in stage 3 since he spams them . Great saver for other stages though
you don't need dash juice for the mount cheese. you can just use rations, steaks, etc. i haven't tried this, but i heard you can also try to sit down for a meal and it makes you invulnerable( do not rob a hunter from his meal!). they may have already patched this already tho, not sure

I tried dodging with the canteen once when i managed to farcast back after i ran out of potions just before it was cast It didnt allow me to sit at the table.

nowadays people want memes and easily digestable nonsense.
Also, sushi scales are far better than Astera Jerky. Not only it cures bleeding, you can have 10 of them, AND it heals as much as a potion! And you come by Sushifish scale+ they heal as much as a mega potion, cure bleeding AND it takes almost zero time to consume. The only downside to these last ones is that you can only have 5 of them at a time.
Yeah, but you can buy Jerky in large quantities.

As a new MH player on pc I thank you for this and the solo guide, it really helped. I actually have a crazy amount of horns and tails but nowhere near enough bones lol.
How the hell Ur suffering from not getting bone while getting behemoth horn shearclaw and the freaking tail I can't even get that I only get behemoth mane and bone;)
I actually think Gunlance is pretty good for getting enmity, a wyrmstake to the head usually instantly causes aggro because of how many ticks of damage it does.
The item loadout you included is solid, but I'd like to make a suggestion. Sushifish scales perform the same function and you can carry 10 of them. They're not hard to get either if you know where to find them. Other than that, this is a nice guide man.
3:00 Actually, gunlances wyrmstake cannon is a sure fire way to gain emnity.
...You have to land one, first, but it'll do the job (extreme behemoth may vary). It's also a good way to build emnity, even if he's about to switch zones, and he'll agro you much faster when you continue the fight.

i love playing behemoth with evade window build..mastering the gesture jump improves a lot chance to clear the quest
The gun lance is actually very effective in getting enmity. Al u need to do is land one Wyrmstake cannon hit. Just one.
I just came back to the game after 6-8 months and this thing wrecked me hard lol thanks this helps a lot
The thing that hits me most is the flames that come up from the ground in front of him and the bodyblow/grab.

You can also mount with the bow without needing a hill/ledge to jump from.

It should be noted, that evade extender plus evade window 3 makes guard irrelevant.
I have solo’d behemoth a few times with long shelling gun lance, and evade window 3 with extender 2 is perfect for dodging almost all of behemoths attacks, it also gives you more opportunities to attack than guard up, and it’s more versatile.
@@martinhall9497 You can get away with that with a shelling gunlance since all you need is artillery for damage, but for pretty much anything else that takes up a lot of space that should go towards other damage skills.

30:10 My friends and I did some runs and the pattern we noticed for the meteors are 3 meteors in phase 2 and 4, and 1 meteor in phase 1 and 3.
This is an old video, but here's my two cents. Me and 2 of my friends were able to beat him enough to get all the armor, and none of us are very skilled. We did it by my using wide range level 5, and quick sheath with longsword. One friend used gameeconomist's clusterbomb build, and one used insect glaive. He wrecked us pretty hard, but I basically just spammed mega potions the whole time and it made it so much easier. At that point, if we died, it was only because we got unlucky or I didn't notice someone was on low health. I focused on the tail the whole time, insect glaive worked on getting enmity, and cluster bomb did consistent damage. We got destroyed when we just fought him with our normal builds. So I would say making a new build for behemoth, whether that be clusterbomb or wide range, is definitely worth it.
This is one of the best and most complete boss guides on UA-cam, not just for Monster Hunter World but for any game. Maybe I missed it, but Behemoth is weak to paralysis - it's a two star weakness but it seems to prock quickly and he seems to stay stuck in place for a while after it has procked, which is useful for giving bladed weapons time to attack the tail. I find any of the Kulve rarity 8 paralysis weapons make it super easy to get his tail off in area 1 and virtually nullify his spin attack.
I'm HR165 and just getting into the meat of strategy and equipment knowledge. With my gem collection finally starting to fill out, I watch your videos multiple times as I'm more able to use your builds. Thanks for making these guides.
Day two on PC-Behemoth and I'm already ripping my hair out... Random groups are one big horror and if the group is working out, we get into some really annoying rng-situations =/ Went on about 30 trys now and still no dead Behemoth to see =_,='''
But as far as I can tell the meteor is the smallest problem. From my experience most groups wipe at phase 3 because... I really dont know. Maybe its the smaller area or so.

I fought him about 20 times by now and actually managed to kill him once... then we lost because of the ecliptic meteor.
But I agree, most of the time you don't lose because of that move. You lose because of random deaths that happen when people get too greedy or don't react to his normal attacks quickly enough.

A bit of both for me. I have to farm for Mega- materials though. Those mega demon drugs and armor drugs get chewed up WAY too fast.
Also... Probably gonna hunt Kulve for fun right now.
I think felyne insurance is a good foodskill since it gives you a free cart, also bow can make a good support since it can easily stun behemoth + has coatings. i recommend using tarroth bow thief for support/CC. ALSO sitting in camp's canteen will make you invulnerable to behemoth's ecliptic meteor
This may only be for extreme behemoth but if you ever get defense down, it is important for everyone to bring adament seeds as it nullifys defense down and gives a physical defense boost.

How I usually do this with randoms or with my team, is just by mounting it through all 4 phases.
I can mount it once every phase at least and hold on to it while everyone does damage. We just make it sleep at the 4th phase where it'll take me a while to mount it since the threshold for mounting is already higher (since I've probably mounted it 3-5 times already). We would try to make it sleep 1 or 2 times on 4th phase bomb it and get ready for the ecliptic.
and oh yes, having wide range is pretty handy in a fight against behemoth.
this is a little late for input but, for the first advanced tip, you are able to use a farcaster at the right time before the meteor hits and it dodges it, im not sure if the game registers you flying above the hitbox with the wingdrake or not, but it works.
i actually went drachen + evasion extender. Got 2 downs in which i literally didnt take any hits. I also put stun resistance thru gems.
that dragoon emote thing is much easier to explain... you use it the moment you SEE the comet, ez

Yeah, so IDK if they patched something or what BUT flash pods don't stop him from summoning his Charybdis attack.
I've thrown them right when the notification appears, when he's charging, and right before he roars or whatever and no luck! Only way to keep him from doing is to drop the rock chunks on him or agro him. This is on Extreme Behemoth FYI

I can only think of two other advice. 1. Recovery Up skill (you know, in case you take a devastating hit and need to recover a lot of health. Also, you do your healer a favour so they don't have to work as hard to heal up their team). 2. Far-cast out of a fight if you know you're really in trouble (do take caution knowing that Behemoth can cast Ecliptic Meteor while you're away).
Here's a good tip for bow mains. Bow charge plus makes power shot shoot six arrows instead of five arrows, if you're using coatings and use only power shots doing this it I VERY easy to get 2 sleeps 2 paralysis and 3 poisons without bringing extra materials to make more of these coatings. Also hitting behemoth dead in the horns while he has both does huge damage so any ranged hunters should be able to abuse that.
On a side note, you can use mushroomancer is a really good idea if you're rolling support because it lets you bring more healing items along with the buffs from the various mushrooms.
Along with that, Astera jerky instantly heals red health to green and due to how long the pin is, it's usually better to use the jerky first then heal. This leaves the pinned player healed and is no longer bleeding.
Tip about mount damage. The Bow also has mount damage built into its move set with the jump attack.
A year later and I still can't beat Behemoth on my own, this fight and Kulve Tarroth are the reason I've been slowly losing interest in MHW.

I play on PC but it gets about 4-5 days max that randoms know what to do.
Just an FYI, while Guard 5 is not really recommended, Guard 3 is for Lance. That's because Guard 3 allows lance to counter-attack without receiving knockback or stagger and allows them to continue their attacks without interruption. In many ways, Guard 3 is a DPS skill for Lance.
Mentioning the blaze weapons at 12:18, the HH is top tier IMHO.
I did it with a healer greatsword build, I took emnity, healed the team and did damage. You just about have to do everything yourself if you are going to play with randoms (I beat him after 4 days of trying since he came out on Xbox).
Quick question - What level of defense would be smart for fighting B on regular and extreme versions?
The problem with playing HH Healer is, you barely get any chances to cast the buffs. If you wanna be efficient, you have to get in close to smack it, and if you play the music you can get hit way too easily. So every time I've beaten the Behemoth, I played HBG healer with the Magda Gemitus II with wide-range. Ranged sticky ammo, status ailments and healing - everything your team needs.
Yeah using HH in such a fast paced fight is quite difficult.
I did HH support for a while when behemoth came out and i did it with randoms and squadmates. i was still able to do damage and still get the buffs in. you were probably doing something wrong

I’ll have to disagree with your tip about enmity and gunlance. You say that the lack of a high thrust combo is an issue but gunlance can gain enmity almost instantly if you use the wyrmstake. Wyrmstake’s multiple hits allows instant buildup of enmity. In phase 1, I’ve been able to position myself where I can land the stake without hitting Behemoth with any other attack and I get enmity from the very beginning of the fight. When charybdis is being cast, gunlance can run up to the face, do a double shell > stake combo and get enmity. There is the issue of wyrmstake being pretty annoying to land at times, but this guide was made with the intent of knowing how to exploit the Behemoth’s weaknesses, and using the moments of stillness to get instant enmity makes gunlance one of the strongest choices for tanking in the fight.
God damn dude.. some tips. If you're gonna heal, SnS. Horn is a slow swinging weapon that takes too long to sheath to save someone's life. Can't pop a potion when you're in a recital.
For HBG, take 3 shield mods. It's lance level. If you take 1, you've got SnS level. You'll be knocked back and unable to block combos. Combine it with guard up for a nearly always active lance counter block. And don't take evade extender. 23:15 of this video is a prime example.
For tanks, don't worry about doing damage if you've been lasered. Shoot, block, shoot, repeat. You do want at least guard 3. At guard 5, you'll be taking minimal chip damage with almost no stamina drain.
If you're ever unsure of which side of the Comet to stand on, look up!
In my experience dodging is the most important skill in Monster Hunter.

Correction to something you said, Behemoth's HP DOES scale for multiplayer, 166% with two people, 233% with three people and 300% with four people. Don't confuse it with Kulve, Kulve is the one that doesn't have HP scaling. For Behemoth, if you can keep to it without letting up and use a DPS set, then it's much faster solo than it would be in multiplayer where at least one person has to go support (eg: the healer).
Behemoth doesn't need support. Don't know about Extremoth though.
If you use guard tank instead of evade tank support is mandatory since you can't sheathe to heal half the time and even with Guard+5 it can take away your stamina very quickly if you aren't very careful. Also, support is good for mounts since they can eat rations to restore the mounter's stamina as they stay mounted (without toppling, just staying up and dodging it's bashes) while the two DPS players wail on it. That strat works wonders even on extreme one and makes the whole thing a joke. Again though, if you are good with your weapon and have a high DPS set, just do it solo.

What would be a good tank build for this? I have a good HH support build but still need armor for it (think one is a HR Arena piece) but should have access to most tank armor for Lance/GL though I don't have a guard-up decoration sadly.

To my knowledge, no. You'd have to use the FF jump emote or stay behind a comet. My controller is screwed atm so I'm forced to stay behind a comet
Little do you realize that unless I'm using a bow gun I travel bloody light.
I do keep tools on hand in case something happens and I need hp and stamina back, though. And some Cool Drink and Jerky, but that's all the special stuff I carry.
Then again, I either bomb Behemoth to death or I shell him until he stops twitching.
Also, don't listen to him: if you're lonely like me, just know you don't need "friends" to help you. Inevitably, the randoms do a good job. Just wait it out.

Hi, I have been playing monster hunter: world for almost 400 hrs, completed all quests including the 3 tempered elders (kushala, teostra and nergigante) so right now I have been farming for tempered elders in the investigation. Now, I would like to play behemoth but I could not find the serious handler. I have been playing offline ever since I started this game and even if I have internet connection the game itself starts offline. Do I have to be online to get the serious handler to spawn? After I have finished the main story (which suggests the serious hander would spawn after that) I still didn't see her anywhere in the map.
Btw, I got this game for free and I am not using steam but I'm playing in my laptop. If I alt+tab I can see the version on the upper left monster hunter: world (161254).
Isn't KT the first monster which HP already scaled for multiplayer?
