Funny how i come across this Halfeti back on 2017, i had a female patient on my dental chair was wearing it . I absolutely was blown by the scent to the extent that i told her i’m not going to proceed with the treatment unless you tell me the name of the perfume 😂, she was utterly flattered that we liked her scent.

@@ic9628 the Original. However the leather one is just has depth with that touch of leather smoke.
As the Salesman of Regent St store in London told me they spray the original in the store to attract passing by tourists to come into their store hence the scent is appealing to the vast majority.

I had Halfeti bought for me from the store in Chester England for father's day, they also have an infuser which spreads the smell up and down the street. I remember my partner and me going up and down the street like bloodhounds trying to figure out where it was coming from. It has to be my favourite fragrance out there. A gorgeous smell!

Same stories in London stores , the projection is unbelievable strong and pleasant.
I was in Harrods and I testen dozens of fragrances. I really liked Aqua di Parma Leather and Floris Leather Oud. But still something was missing in terms of complexity and sensuality for me. So I went to the washroom and there I met Penhaligon's Helfeti... I sprayed it on me and it was almost a Proustian experience. I also found it arousing... never had that before! This perfume has everything I search for. It had that exquisite smell of a Japanese wooden sculpture my friend made, kumquat, bergamot and santalwood notes like in a Piper-Heidsieck Rare 1999 champagne, lovely spices like cumin, asafoetida, very pure saffron (like the one I use for my risotto), mace powder. Sweet notes of tonka beans, faint vanilla and white chocolate. Floral notes: roses like in a young Romanée-Conti and a field in Damascus, Lilly of the Valley (my absolute favorite smell), violets (but not the sweet candylike aroma),
a delicate earthyness, leather tones, a faint herbal touch of tarragon and... a hint of the combination of the transpiration fluids me and (now my ex) girlfriend had after a night of sex.
I hope I get it for christmas!
Halfeti is a village in turkey where black roses grow naturally. It’s the only place in the world where you can find black roses
I have a penthaligons boutique near me, and I've not tried anything from them.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I first found this perfume while visiting Bath where they also had it pumping through a vent into the street. I fell in love and then almost fell over when I was told the price, never having bought high end perfume before. Finally over a year later I’ve decided to purchase. Your review really helped I can’t quite remember the fragrance but I remember loving it. I can’t wait for it to arrive.

I’m glad to hear you enjoy Halfeti. I do too! When I read Luca Turin’s very negative review of it in one of his books, I was crushed. What? This expert, whose opinion I normally agree with, thought Halfeti one of the worst concoctions EVER! I got over the notion that I have terrible taste and common sense reminded me that it’s only one man’s opinion. It does take a light touch for me, but I find it a wonderful creation. I think people take negative reviews pretty dramatically. I experience it here day to day. I rarely do negative reviews as I don't much speak about fragrances i do not like because of people reacting too dramatically to them. You should see the comments I receive if I speak negatively of a fragrance. It's one person's opinion because for every hater of something there are many lovers of that same thing. So negative reviews are not bothering me much I can see how it affects many so dramatically as people can be connected to something so importantly then someone comes and crushes that feeling and leaves it uncomfortable. I agree with you though Halfeti is good. I hope you get to try Halfeti Leather. :)

Pretty much the same experience. Smelt Halfeti 3 years ago outside of a Penhaligons in London "what is that magical scent?". Bought it, love it. Tried Halfeti Leather 3/4 weeks back in Selfridges. My eyes popped out of my head when I saw it, didnt know it existed. Tested it. Smelt fantastic. Was slightly tipsy at the time so I cant fully recall it. Wish id tried it on. What's the dry down like? The original gets a bit dry/dusty/patchouli heavy after a few hours. Mainly love that opening on the original. Does Halfeti Leather hold on to that sweet opening throughout? What's the dry down like? Many thanks! Love your channel.

It's just Liquid Gold... I haven't smell anything like it. Halfeti Leather is amazing. Got mine today and I'm rating above my collection.
Great video! :) Penhaligons isnt sold in my country (Finland) so its not possible to visit a boutique to test the fragrances. Im searching for a elegant,expensive smelling strong fragrance suitable for a career woman in her 30s. Not a fan of white flowers. Perhaps Cairo might be a good one? Sweet orientals usually tickle my fancy.
Hi Sebastian. Another fantastic review. Halfeti is my signature scent my number 1 i love it so much. I received a sample of Halfeti leather today from Penhaligons. I don't normally go for leather fragrances but absolutely love Halfeti leather, i don't find the leather overpowering its quite soft and smooth. As you said its more like a darker version of Halfeti so i will be buying the 100ml from selfridges. How do you find the performance and longevity of Halfeti leather? From the sample I got It didnt seem to last as long as Halfeti. All the best. Mark from Edinburgh Scotland

Superbly reviewed Seb. The original is a classic from my favourite niche house, although the plum in the new release really intrigues me. A sweet looking bottle too. Never though I'd hear the word 'gooeyness' in a fragrance review. lol How appropriate!
I liked the comparison idea in this review. I haven't tried either or Penhaligons. Maybe because I'm fairly new my nose will evolve to enjoy leather more but right now it's not a favorite. Thanks.

You mentioned YSL Noble Leather, that it had been discontinued. I wonder if you have tried Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford? If so, what are your thoughts in comparison to to Penhaligon's Halfeti Leather? I JUST learned of Penhaligon's today, so I've not yet experienced it. You seem extremely knowledgeable so I would love to get your opinion. Thank you.
They are not similar at all. The YSL comparison to Tom Ford was done almost 5 years ago. ua-cam.com/video/t9HHsbq2H4g/v-deo.html but the Penhaligon's doesn't come close to the YSL sadly! :)

Someone, please let me know if this is a fairly dressy scent. I like all the notes but I wear chinos an button downs daily. No suits. It sounds too “nice”? What do you think? I will order a sample anyway. So intrigued! Foster Lee
Perfumes in General you can dress them up and down easily. However this perfume is class and smells very posh, for that would be imaginable to be dressed up and for special occasion too.

I'm so angry now because I had no idea this fragrance existed. I was down in London just the other day and yes, I was in my favourite shop, Selfridges, and I didn't see it. Bloody Hell! I let it pass me by so talk about disappointment. Anyway, talking about Selfridges exclusives, have you seen those paco rabanne collection? Talk about groovy. You need to get your nose on them.
