  • The 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum is dedicated to the pilots of the 100th “Bloody Hundredth”, a bomber group with a reputation for a high casualty rate. The museum is located in Thorpe Abbotts, Norfolk.
Thorpe Abbotts was on the USA FA Control from June 1943 to the end of the war. Some of the airfields still survive today and the control tower houses the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum which tells the story of the base and the men who flew the B17 bombers in combat over Germany.

My dad was with the 457th bomber group out of Glotton England.
I just found a chest in the attic with all the awards, letters to my grandmother, missions notes, etc…
The commemorative Air Force in Arizona has their B17 painted in my dad’s Bomber group colors.
I got to spread some of his ashes out the bomb bay in Logan Utah where he went to flight cadet school.

Are you sure it’s ‘Glotton’? There is no such place.

My father was pilot of Royal Flush with the 100th BG from April - July of 1944. Glad to see these videos bring attention to the 100th BG museum at Thorpe Abbotts. I have visited there twice over the years and greatly appreciate the dedication of the volunteers there!

My father was a tail-gunner in the 100 BG, he passed away in 2006. He completed his 35 missions in Skyway Chariot. The plane was flying with another crew when it was shot down and the tail-gunner and 2 other men lost their lives.

Been enjoying the Mighty 8th Redux so far! Can't wait for more updates to that title, as well as news on the Bloody 100th! And thank you, to our brothers "across the pond" for helping keep American history alive!
