Scandalous is one of the best pop style songs. Mis-Teeq and Girls aloud really were unique and reshaped the scene.
Mis-Teeq and Sugababes were the group doing this for me. They really gave something fresh to the music scene.
Agreed. I'd pay hundreds to see them perform scandalous in concert with front row seats.
I really believe if they stuck it out a few more albums they’d have cemented themselves as one of the greatest Brit girlgroups of all time. Aleesha did well to stay relevant on her own. Perhaps if they’d stuck it out longer Sabrina would have had more of a career.

@@scorelineupdate129 I mean, a solo career, with 6 UK Top 20 singles, a platinum album & BRIT nomination, won Strictly, judged Strictly, presented countless TV shows, judged Got Talent in Britain, America & Australia, Drag Race, just co-hosted Eurovision in front of a 162m audience, and is still relevant over 20 years into her career. I think she’s doing alright for herself!!!

a short moment in prime music history but with a huge impact musically and artistically - fantastically shown here :) they were such innovators when it came to that garage / pop cross over formula ! bravo !!!!!!
Another great Pop Underrated video as usual! Growing up in the US, I loved Mis-Teeq as a kid ever since I discovered the US version of “One Night Stand.” Here it is 20 years later and they’re still one of my favorite UK groups.

Aleisha said they wanted to prove they dont need white girl in group to sell. Destiny's Child had already been selling very well worldwide well before them and so did TLC, they got no white girls. It really annoys me when people are caught up in their egos that arent true. Artist of color sold very well in 90s and 2000s because their voices are usually more soulful. I still listen to alot of 2000s rnb now. I like mis-teeqs music it would be very good to see them reform now with new music i think they have even more potential that how it ended. thanks for your documentary

Their parents Aren’t American and lot of people were still ignorant back then all those girl groups were from AMERICA the uk was fake diverse they weren’t as diverse as we were
There were Eternal, Cleopatra, Honeyz, Fierce who had a pretty decent run. But yeah. Spice girls had the same story, that girl bands don't sell records 😂
@@fanstastic83 aside from Eternal who were a few years before the others weren’t nearly as successful in terms of sales and chart positions. Unless I’m misremembering?

I’ve always wondered how their sound would’ve evolved if they’d stayed together and dropped another 1 or 2 albums, their legacy which still stands was cut massively short imo. I’m also curious to know what their sound would’ve been like if Zena never checked out early, like do we think that Alesha would’ve stuck it out that bit longer?
Seeing that both All I Want and Scandalous didn’t make it to number 1 was a huge travesty tbh and they at least deserved that elusive number spot.
I’m sure they’ll regroup in the near future, if only for the nostalgia cos let’s be honest, there truly hasn’t been another girl group with their sound to hit the scene since they left, be it British or American.
Slight correction: Jermaine Dupri wasn’t the “JD” that produced on their second album, it was JD of the garage-rap group So Solid Crew.
Oh i was like 10 when i first saw Mis Teeq on German tv promoting One Night Stand on MTV, Viva and blowing up the roof on Top Of The Pops. Good times, the album was soo good as well, i listened to it all summer 2002. Scandalous remains their most famous song here, still a banger.
Another outstanding documentary 😬 Stamp Reject from the first albums is still amazing! Really wish that had been a single, that and How Does It Feel from the second, both albums have aged beautifully, some of those songs are timeless
I love Mis-teeq, bought all their albums and singles 😊. Met Sabrina personally before she became famous and she was lovely.

I also need to know why none of their single mixes are on streaming?! Their album versions are fine but the video versions of the songs are the ones versions we are more familiar with.

I loved Mis-Teeq growing up, I always thought it was sad they never really let Su-Elise sing (other than ad-libs).

Growing up in America on the early days of the internet i loved discovering UK acts like Mis-teeq, Sugababes, Ms. Dynamite, and Dizzee Rascal. A wonderful time! Great doc.

Some timeless tunes came out then....Alesha on the MC she was so good!! ❤ Alesha Dixon loved her solo knock down single.. I.m.g they licked on both sides 3 times released I got that album....somewhere!!🙄 Think I lost cd 2 so probably, lickin on one side... Excellent choice 👍🙂🙂

It was "All I want" which made me fall in love with mis-teeq. I remember seeing this beautiful light-skin girl talented MC who was named to be Alesha Dixson. .

Alesha could tour with TLC. No one can replace Lisa, but she would be the closest.
Mis-Teeq is the group I've got everything they'd ever released, except some vinyl releases with mixes ❤❤❤ I have all those album additional issues and all their CD singles 😊

The closest group there was/we will get to being similiar to TLC as far as the dynamics and success.. Alesha was a solid rapper just like Lisa and you had Sabrina slaying those lead vocals like T-Boz.. Im sure we would have seen Sue getting her shine on had they stayed together and continued on..

I'm 30 minutes in and I don't get the deal with the third girld. Did she write or sing or something? It seems like it was only Sabrina and Alysha...

It looked like they was gonna reunite in 2013 but Alesha got pregnant, I don’t see it happening, Sabrina has made some shady comments about Alesha in the press and seems quite bitter. It’s sad because there is a gap in the market for a band like them.

_Style_ had potential, I think that what it was missing is a remix.
It had a remix at the time which was rock type remix which was also played on some of the UK radio stations and added onto the special edition re release of the album.
Brilliant track
They had other bangers on the album that could have done better than Style.
it’s what seems to be the case with most artists, in that the singles from their debut album were the best. I remember not liking anything that came after ‘this is how we do it’.,

@@michaelbenjamin4761 I saw Sue Elise on the bus at The London Eye just before Christmas 2000. She was quite loud saying to her friends that she had just signed a contract with a label. I couldn't hear which one.

@@michaelbenjamin4761 That's right. No one gave her a chance. She couldn't even have a career after the group split up. Alesha did. She's very relatable. Sabrina tried it on I'm a Celebrity get me out of here. Su Elise teaches at her own performing arts school called the "Su-Elise Stage School" based in Gravesend, Kent.

What did Su-Elise actually do… apart from sing, “it’s a one night stand” - and she barely sung that line.
So two songs she actually has little parts on are the Rishi Rich version of 'Roll On' and the bridge on 'It's Beginning to Feel Like Love'
Oh and the track 'Just For You' on Eye Candy
