Kevin Burke was born and bred in London and moved to Ireland at a young age - hence the very mixed up accent. The Burkes he came from made a big impact on music in London. Damn nice people.

I think that's a bouzouki. Andy Irvine had a lot to do with establishing the Bouzouki in Irish music.
I would bet on Octave Mandolin. It is used primarily by Irish music groups.
@@sonomabob It is a mandola to give it it's correct name. Half way to an Irish Bouzouki. They are all used in Irish music.
