Thank you for helping me bring the gospel to life to those who don't yet know Jesus as their Saviour. This song & your presentation of it makes it so relatable.
Its that time of the year again when we - Christians-with the arrival of Easter are reminded that it is only The founder of Christianity, even Our Lord Jesus Christ conquered death, grave and hell.
I heard this song for the first time at Keith and Kristyn Getty's "Hymns for the Christian life" tour in Dallas, Texas and I've loved it ever since then.
I like the verse, "See Mary weeping...", as it describes the passage in John 20:11-16: 11 But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb; 12 and she *saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She *said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” 14 When she had said this, she turned around and *saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she *said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” 16 Jesus *said to her, “Mary!” She turned and *said to Him in [a]Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher).
Paul Hutchinson Not that it is necessary, but New King James, New American Standard, and Holman Christian Standard all capitalize pronouns referring to God.
There is nothing awesome about mistaken presentation of events in the Gospel. Pompous words and the wrong perspective do not communicate the right understanding of Easter and I am afraid inaccuracy turns them into carols and cliches. Not everyone knew when Christ was risen as songs like this assert and now two places are held to be the Empty Tomb.
My choir is singing this Easter .....AMAZING piece of music..very powerful.

I think that it is indeed her, except it was the studio recorded version of it.
Actually by Stuart Townend and Keith Getty
Who is singing this? It doesn't really sound like Kristyn Getty...
Oops - thanks for the correction
please capitalize He, His, Him. Otherwise, GREAT!
Capitalising "he, his, him" - Bibles don't do this, not even the KJV, so why should song lyrics do it?... I agree that's a brilliant song though :-)
Paul Hutchinson Not that it is necessary, but New King James, New American Standard, and Holman Christian Standard all capitalize pronouns referring to God.
Paul Porter I wasn't aware of that. It does seem like a minority practice though.
