Dover (/ˈdoʊvər/) is the capital and second-largest city of the U.S. state of Delaware. It is also the county seat of Kent County and the principal city of the Dover, DE, Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Kent County and is part of the Philadelphia-Wilmington-Camden, PA-NJ-DE-MD, Combined Statistical Area. It is located on the St. Jones River in the Delaware River coastal plain. It was named by William Penn for Dover in Kent, England (for which Kent County is named). As of 2010, the city had a population of 36,047.

I lived in Dover from 59-64 & 71-80. Dad was at DAFB. Always felt like home until I went back 42 yrs later, naturally saw huge changes. Drove for Dover City Cab in late 70s, knew the town very very very well, still did when I went back in 2022. I knew the streets but alot different businesses 😮😅. I guess I'll always consider "old" Dover home❤.
