Thanks for your documentation and information. Was born in Scottsdale 60 years ago, and you know much more about the state, and the trails than I do (by far). Just replaced one of my duallies with an 04 Suburban 2500 4wd, and intend to start overlanding later this year if it all works out. Maybe we'll see you on the trail sometime
My dad took us all out jeepin when we were kids, & ended up in the town of humbug. There were old spring beds in the buildings, canceled checks strewn about, evidence all over of a successful establishment. Crossing humbug creek was a little bit tough since the boulders were car tire sized. Also that creek was loaded with geodes! Absolutely astonishing- something I still vividly remember from 1971
I took this ride a few years ago with a buddy. I hole in tge dam used to be a slide gate tgat was removed. There is a second "China Dam" near Wickenburg. Not far from the Tule Homestead is another structure. Last time I was there it was still intact and had cans of soup stacked in the windows.
I saw your video about the "other" China Dam right after we did this trail. I'll have to get out there some time and see how it compares! The slide gate explains those notches in the back of the dam.
Oh wow another Arizonian . Look at Arizona Kid Channel . Orange back ground with mountain . He does lots of atv / Jeep trails in Arizona . This channels reminds me of it .
There used to be a homestead, like a small town back there with multiple buildings all still in tact as though they just up and left, creepy. But the cement co.oany built a road over all of it!!
I believe that that dam or dame or dan was to espérate something from the water to not enter or from keeping It crossing over and mostly all of us ignore such things as these
It is about 5 miles due north of the lake. There is a turnoff along the Backway to CK (where it makes a hard left) and then cross Humbug Creek. We have GPX tracks on our website if you need help finding it.
If you rush it a little on the word "Deserted" you can sing the title of this video -- like: ♫ busted dam and 'dsr'td home-stead north of lake ple-sant ♫ -- feelin' near as faded as my jeans..... ♫ Heh.

I went recently and checked both out, it was great, very few people on the trails. I guess I just have a better time when nobody else is around :D

What type of drone are you using?
I use a DJI Phantom 4 Pro currently. When this video was filmed, it was a Phantom 3 Pro.
