If you transplant your pompous US ideas into Belize then you may have to pay those "high" prices as he listed it. But when you're downsizing (also in square feet) a 900-1000 sqft home one storey will keep your budget down. Ambergris Caye is a No-Road_Access location, all materials come in by barges. Construction material is mostly cut and processed on the mainland (higher costs to ship) and better options to compare prices. I would be nervous to build in an Estate barely 15 feet above sea level in the midst of mangroves (mosquitos love you) and storms, hurricanes ??? As much I love San Pedro, but NO. Thank you ! What you save you can use to enjoy live, not luxury. That's what I am going to do.
At $500US a square foot..that's ridiculous..not even in Beverly hills is that much..they be trippin too much...labor is not even that much in Belize...I own a brand new house in Texas and it's not even that much per square foot...these builders are just cashing in on all these foreign buyers....I Believe that if u go with a foreign builders you will pay an arm and leg..just go with a trusted local contractor and save half the price..
Why would we compare a developing country to the U.S. surely this is not apples and apples. How do you all manage to bring this mentality to Belize. Please make this make sense…

Hi Michael, you are correct. The price mentioned in the video is $200 /sqft for San Pedro.
@@secretbeachhomes
$200 seems to high… In Houston Texas is around $156/sf
@@torrey2708 San pedro is a island, hence the 200/sqft
costs a LOT more than people think!!!!!!! you need a million to move to Belize minimum
Maybe not a million but it's more than people often expect.
