Playing this game in Japanese on the legacy collection for Switch truly increased my appreciation for it. It's so much better. The voice acting is actually awesome
the time for an anime of this has long passed. They should have released it by the time of the Snes trilogy era or wen this game was released, wen the series was at the peak of popularity. But now, I guess it would be a complete flop. And remember, they did an anime for exe and ryussei and almost 60% of them was useless filler, so I guess is a good thing there's no anime of X.

Well, the first trilogy was focused in X [And PSX/Saturn X3 had anime cutscenes focused on X, just without voice acting] X4 to X5 is focused on Zero. Then X6 and X8 is more of a "let's do the things right together this time!" with X and Zero sharing equally the protagonism. [X7 won't count, except for Axl debut]
I know there's probably a huge amount of nostalgia to it, but to me this is seriously one of the best piece of action japanese animation ever made, there isn't a single moment of lazy animations or models or visible budged cuts, it's just very consistent well made, and most of all character models, their faces, the armors, the settings it all looks just absolutely beautiful, just fucking amazing...and of course a laughing psychopath Zero is always a plus!

Then again, the last time Iris is even mentioned is in Zero's finale in Rockman X5. In the next X games, it's like she never existed. Not that I would expect zero to still be mourning her, but she had a major impact in his story and in the players. She should have come back in some way (after all, characters return from the dead all the time in this series - cofcofZerocofcofVilecofcofSigma - it wouldn't be that absurd)

there is the theory that zero killed wily, bass, classic megaman and roll. dr light was already pretty old when he finished x and protoman could have just had his energy malfunction gotten worse and with no dr to repair him, he probably just stop working one day. but the maker of megaman said that when he made zero, he didnt create him with such a personality. but zero was a maverick, so anything that sigma has done (like manipulationg repliforce, x and zero, iris, doopler... and over all mass-murderer) zero could have done back then.
Now that i think about it. Why would Wily decide to switch Zero's objective from destroying MegaMan to destroying X? I mean, X was still in the process of being created during 20XX. So, could that mean that MegaMan was already offline when Light was close of finishing X?
gama103 Wily in the end always tried to one up Light, Megaman was Light's best for a while and he tried hard to surpass that with likes of Bass and the Mega killers, at this point Zero was so advanced Wily was sure it would destroy Megaman , he states so in a game, i think it was The Power Fighters 2, so once he found out about X it was on, Wily finest death machine agaisnt Light's final creation .

No, Zero never woke up in the classic era. Wily left him sealed because a cognitive flaw made him a psycho and he'd be the first victim. He stored the Maverick Virus in the capsule which leaked from it when Zero woke up in 21XX and infected him making him good (I guess the headache is when it started affecting him), and Sigma was also infected since he was nearby but was made bitter and angry by it until he decided to rebel against mankind. The dead robots are all the Maverick Hunters that found Zero before Sigma arrived. Also it's stated Zero was unknowingly infecting more and more Reploids while he was going around doing hero stuff.
nobody ever found out what happened to Megaman later on.. it wasnt explained at the end of the series, and not even at the beginning of the X series.. it remains a mystery as Capcom is not likely care about this franchise anymore

He was designed for the Wily/Maverick Virus which takes control of him like that. He gets tortured trying to stop the possession, but then he's controlled by the virus, and becomes that crazy death machine.
While Maverick Zero's scene was one of the "better" ones in english, the japanese voicework really makes it shine, even with the animation itself not being stellar.

The fight between Zero and Colonel should have been similar to Zero vs Sigma. And why no X cutscenes?

Now that i think about it. Why would Wily decide to switch Zero's objective from destroying MegaMan to destroying X? I mean, X was still in the process of being created during 20XX. So, could that mean that MegaMan was already offline when Light was close of finishing X?
gama103 Wily in the end always tried to one up Light, Megaman was Light's best for a while and he tried hard to surpass that with likes of Bass and the Mega killers, at this point Zero was so advanced Wily was sure it would destroy Megaman , he states so in a game, i think it was The Power Fighters 2, so once he found out about X it was on, Wily finest death machine agaisnt Light's final creation .
And then you remember... Zero dies in megaman zero 4
He (kind of) comes back in the ZX games.

No, Zero never woke up in the classic era. Wily left him sealed because a cognitive flaw made him a psycho and he'd be the first victim. He stored the Maverick Virus in the capsule which leaked from it when Zero woke up in 21XX and infected him making him good (I guess the headache is when it started affecting him), and Sigma was also infected since he was nearby but was made bitter and angry by it until he decided to rebel against mankind. The dead robots are all the Maverick Hunters that found Zero before Sigma arrived.
Also it's stated Zero was unknowingly infecting more and more Reploids while he was going around doing hero stuff.

Mappster Those are the remains of thr Gamma unit that Zero slaughtered when he reactivated, its never stated he destroyed Megaman and if he did who would have stopped him then?, thats one plothole this theory cant answer, X couldnt since he wasnt complete and he was sealed right away after completion for the 30 year testing he needed to guarantee he was safe .
