as someone with no knowledge of training a service dog, it's obvious to even me that your sd is such a hardworking girl! she did a great job in this video
It's so impressive seeing a Siberian Husky doing service work, I know first hand how insanely stubborn they are, and it is highly recommended not to have a Siberian as a service dog, but she is behaving beautifully. Training a service dog is hard enough (again, I know first hand), you must have amazing patience to keep up with a Siberian's attitude
Thank you! It takes a lot of work and not all Sibes have the right temperament for SD work but Voodoo came from a really good breeder and her temperament was perfect for the job! She's definitely still stubborn and indapendant but I really like that and it helps when she needs to make a decision for me if something goes wrong!
Little Husky Voodoo Temprament really does make all of the difference. Any breed can do service work, it just depends on the dog. A rare little Huskey you have there ^^
Hi my name is savannah. Do you have a way I can contact you personally I am going to get a puppy to train as a service dog and I would love to have someone help me and have inputs on things?
Evangeline_In_Training I also have a Siberian husky service dog, and she tends to do pretty well. She has no public access issues, but she is not very good at leash walking. She can do dpt, mobility, down stay, etc. I feel that if I did have a different breed such as a German Sheppard or a larger breed, I wouldn’t have had to deal with her stubbornness whilst training her for 1.2 years. But yes it is very rare to have a Siberian as a service dog as they are natural sledders, and always want to pull.
Savannah Turner If you still need help you can always watch my UA-cam channel. You can also message me personally on my Instagram. I just barely got a new sdit, my Siberian husky retired this year and I now have a 16 week old Great Pyrenees/ border collie mix puppy! I am training him on my channel and walking people through it step by step.
"and if you dont like it. You dont have to watch my videos that's perfectly fine." Died laughing. I do think it's important for a dog to be able to be off leash trained as well
The dog seems well trained, but as someone that has a huge phobia of dogs seeing a dog off the leash can trigger a panic attack. Just in case some people don't understand others points of view
Voodoo has an amazing heel ! I'm glad there are other husky owners out there that train their huskies well! I get a lot of people who believe they can't be trained since they're stubborn and it's not true ! Do you have any recommendation for E-collars for the thicker coated dogs such as huskies ? I use them as a precaution in case I need to do an emergency recall but the one I have is very difficult to come in contact with her skin . A lot of suggestions were to trim the fur in that area but I would never want to do that ! Regardless, I'm glad to see another husky team :D !
Lisa Y Lots of e-collars just give off a tiny correction that doesn’t hurt and mostly isn’t even uncomfortable for the dog either. It might make a muscle in their neck twitch or basically act like a „tap on the shoulder“
I love that you aren't rude to people asking or stopping you or coming by and constantly give your dog pets and treats and positive reinforcement. I see too many people being rude to people and their dogs and it is kind of off putting. Love your videos💕 Voodoo is beautiful
This was wonderful! I'm currently training my dog to help me with my anxiety/depression and you've given me several responses to teach him! I am also glad to see a husky that can be off-leash; I know how much they like to run!
There's a lot I want to say here, but I can't really get it all into words so here goes. This is really informational and very cool. I love that you explained everything and why you did it and what others might think of your training mechanisms. I like that you treated her, but not excessivly. Also, Voodoo is a beautiful husky.
I have only just started training my puppy to be a PSA, she is 12 weeks old and although she is young she loves to learn and catches onto things incredibly fast. During the pandemic I suffered from a panic attack where I screamed and cried having thoughts of suicide and the only thing that pulled me out of it was my boyfriend but at that point I was slipping in and out of consciousness and nearly rushed to the ER. I adopted a dog a month prior to the episode to be an ESA but he was already 1 year old so its been hard to train him, he is a good dog but his focus and drive isnt very strong. The puppy will often do her training and after a few days of watching he has become interested in participating so the two now train together. They both have a lot of potential and it amazes me the progress they make every day. It is videos like this one that train me to be the best handler I can hope to be so thank you for the oppertunity to learn from you, despite the age of the video it is still changing peoples lives.
I heard Idaho and I had to pause. I just found your channel and I really love your voice and Voodoo. I've always loved dogs, and I've been thinking about starting to train dogs, and seeing you and Voodoo made me happy. Seeing you train her yourself is just great inspiration. Buutt, I live in Idaho too so I had to squeal a little.
TBH I'm jealous of voodoo I have a service dog for sever anxiety and panic attacks that can cause me to pass out. He alerts to them and assists me through them. He also does DPT which stands for "deep pressure therapy" but you were very close. I'm hopefully getting my next SD prospect here in a few months which is going to be a Rottweiler and that are VERY stubborn so it will be a huge learning process for me since I will be owner training.
Mackenzie Pavloff both husky and rotts love to have a purpose such as pulling a cart or helping the human partners. they can b suborn but take ur time and b consistent. i like that she uses both types of obedient. to much physical training is auick but the dog will not enjoy. so i like to c how well balance the training is. for a dog a toy, food or positive tuch is reward training. dogs r like people some like food more some like toys. get to know ur dogs like. good luck with ur new dog.
Very wonderful video. I am on my third service dog, who of course is wonderful lol. Hehehe. Love your explanation of why you do things. Just a really refreshing video of a good job training from you and excellent work from your dog.
any one else with a service dog get huge amounts of anxiety just trying to go to the store be a use you're scared of how people will react to you being in the store or restaurant. it makes me feel like I can't even go any where because of the general public. they're do nasty towards service animals.
I know this post is old but costco asks me all the time what service the dog provides for me or disability do i have. They legally CAN not ask that but being a membership company they seem to think they can get away with this
I have severe social anxiety. to the point where I can't leave my house without someone with me. I'm almost 20 years old and I can't even go to the grocery by myself or live by myself. I've been looking into a service dog for it and my depression and bipolar disorder. your video helps out a lot as I don't have the money for a fully trained service dog and I'm going to have to do it myself essentially. i want to train it to do the deep pressure, fetch someone if I'm in the middle of a panic attack, and remind me to take my medication.
silvertoungue65 im the same way but im 17 and just graduated high school. school was hell id panic easily i couldn't stay in the cafeteria cause it was to much, i have scars on my hand from anxiety scratching, my mom ALWAYS yells at me for shaking my leg which i never even realize i do. and i cant leave the house cause i know ill panic if im myself. anxiety sucks. so does depression. having both is a personal hell. i feel like i cant do anything on my own and im constantly feel beaten down which doesnt help me.
It takes a lot of work but it's definitely worth it if you drop your leash for some reason! E-collars honestly are up to the handler, most handlers don't use them but they've helped Voodoo's training a TON!
reminds me of my past dog. never had to teach her anything. she would catch on easily. she was such a smart dog. i was able to put food on her nose and wouldn't do a thing until i said so.
omg i am jealouse. money, time and effort paid off. you invested your life into this. very proud of you. i watched most of your videos because i really want a husky. 😭 trained and be a service dog for my family health needs.
my roommate will be getting a service dog soon and i definitely am gonna show him this cause i think the check ins and the healing thing in the isles are a great idea cause he runs in the mornimg and his dog will have to keep up with him and all and i think it would be smart for him to have who ever will be training his to teach it how to do that instinctively at cross walks
I love watching how great she does. Huskies get a bad name for being stubborn. But they can be trained. My Husky Yuki is a service dog. I love him so much! The only challenge I have is when he goes to the doctors. He gets really scared and is so hard to handle.
Awesome job with Voodoo. I have my Shadow (husky) that is my service dog. I have a motability scooter in which we go on walks with and into stores. He still does not like the slippery floors in the store but he is getting better. He stops and lays downs whenever I stop to get an item or when I stop to talk with someone. On my bad days and he knows when I feel bad, he is the best thing for me. When we go into places to eat he lays at my feet and ignores everyone but me. Shadow I have trained in both English and Swedish.
My dog is the same with lay down especially on cold or wet surfaces, it's the only command he does that with and I think it's just his way of saying "I don't love this but I'll do it anyway because you asked me and I respect you but I want you to know how I feel". Love voodoo and all of the work you guys do, I really enjoy your videos! :)
I'm starting my SD journey with my Beagle x Lab JoJo. He's gonna be trained to alert to my anxiety and panic attacks as well as help keep people from standing too close because I will full on panic if there's too many people around me.
Really great video! I'm currently studying dog training including assistance dog training and I was worried my husky puppy wouldnt take to it but you've done amazing with yours. They are a hell of a challenge though huh!
This was great!!! My therapist and I have been looking into a service dog / ESA for anxiety/ panic attacks, depression, suicidal tendencies and hypoglycemia. I would love to have a golden retriever or a husky. Was she trained when you got her? Thanks so much!
Thank you! That sounds awesome! Golden retrievers are definitely better suited for SD work and they're much easier to train, but huskies have their benefits too! Voodoo naturally does a really good job of staying focused and doesn't seek out attention from strangers which is important! If you've never owned a high drive and high energy breed like a husky they can be really tricky to handle and train, but it's possible to do! I would also definitely suggest only going with a show line Siberian for a SD because their temperaments are MUCH more stable and they don't have a problem staying focused and calm :) We got our girl from Sky Siberians in Delta, CO but there are lots of great show line breeders all over the US! Voodoo was actually owner trained and I learned everything I know and taught from Instagram friends and UA-cam videos!
Thank you for replying! I have done some more research and I think I might end up going with a golden, since most of the websites I have visited have placed as one of the top breeds for ESAs. Also I found out that you could train a sd to alert to migraine up to an HOUR before they happen. Which is great because I have suffered from chronic migraines since I was 9 years old. My therapist is saying she wants me to do some training on my own to deepen the bond with the dog and also so it's not such an easy thing as getting a dog completely pre trained. (Sorry if this reply was all over the place) Again thank you for replying!
It took a ton of work and practice but she does still mess up sometimes! It's all about consistency and working them through their bad days! You can definitely do it!
I know this video is old but I have an Aussie puppy I am training to be my service dog and sometimes it gets frustrating so it’s nice to see some other people training a stubborn/ higher energy dog
You are amazing! I have a 2 yr old Husky that looks exactly like Voodoo. I’m not sure if we could train him like that. He’s hyper!! Especially off the leash! That’s very impressive! I would love to train him.
Wow amazing!!! I just got a golden retriever and im.not so sure where to begin to train her she's 12 weeks and knows the basics for puppies sit stay down paw.. rollover lol but I got her to have her help me with somewhat of the same issues as you described for urself..... Would love if I could ask u some questions and get on the right path to training her.... Just having her as a best friend who's with me 24-7 has help so much w social anxiety.....now if I could get help with grounding and skin picking and some other things my life would change drastically!
omg i think we have similar disabilities haha! ghost performs dpt for anxiety and dissociative episodes (as well as other tasks, his main one is guiding me during dissociative episodes cuz i tend to get lost). that's so cool!
(sorry i just watched the part where you said dpt is not a task on its own, but i actually think that's wrong, here's why. ESAs, emotional support animals, do not have any trained task. their presence is what helps, but they don't have a trained task that mitigates their handler's disability. however many psychiatric service dogs perform dpt, deep pressure therapy, as a main task which does qualify them as a service dog so long as it directly mitigates their handler's disability! many service dogs perform multiple tasks, and some perform only one. because disabilities are so different, that which helps the disability must be different for everyone as well!)
ADA states that DPT and Blocking by themselves actually won't hold up in court which is why I said that :) I've had friends go to court over an issue and they weren't sided with because their dog was only trained to perform DPT and to Block. It's not that it isn't a legitimate task, it is very helpful and useful, but if that's the only task your dog performs it is technically an ESA and not a SD and doesn't have PA rights. That's the only difference, I use DPT and blocking on a daily basis and they are the two biggest things that help prevent panic attacks and fainting, but by themselves Voodoo wouldn't be granted PA because those aren't responses to my disability that couldn't be helped by something else. Her main tasks are guide work for dissociating, alerting to heart rate, breathing, shaking, and dizziness, etc. and responding to a panic attack with DPT and blocks if needed. But yes we do have similar disabilities! THat's way cool!
Little Husky Voodoo Haha yeah! Oh I thought any tasks that a SD was trained would qualify. I didn't know DPT would fit into an ESA category but I guess that makes sense. Thank you!
Voodoo is absolutly amazing! My husky is still failing to follow my steps. She often got disctracted and wanna smell this, dig a bit that on the road. But I am not giving her up. How old is Voodoo?
It's great! I've been trying to find something for my dog's Facebook page to have put on shirts as a fundraiser for rescues but not much luck. Thanks. :) I'm training for migraine alert because I suffer from severe migraines. She naturally started alerting me one day. She also helps a lot with my anxiety. Naturally leans into and puts pressure on me when my anxiety is high. Not bad for a rescue dog who had a rough life.
For anyone who believes that SD's don't love their jobs: A dog which doesn't might be a good pet; but, would NEVER "make it" as a SD... My balance and mobility dog would get his gear on himself, if he were able to do so! Since he isn't, I have to hold it in such a way that he can stick his head through, make sure the belly strap isn't twisted and is where he can stick his R F leg through it; and, fasten the strap for him. He's an Akbash/Lab mix; and, he'd be miserable if he didn't have a job to do. He was so easy to train that I feel half guilty calling him an "owner-trained;" since, most of his training consisted of me training me to stay consistent with the signals we'd already settled upon regarding what I wanted or needed him to do. (Labs are smart; but, Akbash are astoundingly so! Me, on the other hand: among other physical disabilities, I have an injury related form of fibromyalgia; and, when I'm really brain-fogged from it, do good to keep my left and right straight!...) I taught him what words corresponded with what actions I needed from him; and, we worked out the "final details" of how he could best perform his tasks; but, he was so eager to learn "this cool job" his training was "a breeze." Would this be the case with "just any dog"??? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! GOOD SCREENING IS essential!!! Service dogs have some major differences in their personalities from pets. The best analogy I can think of is: A workaholic might enjoy the occasional day off; but, would be devastated without a job; a co-worker, on the other hand, might milk unemployment for as long as possible...
I just found you, and you are great! You are inspirational and motivational even as a owner of a service dog myself (His name is Rex), you show great ways of training methods for newcomers to Service dogs or even Huskies like mine 😊
My girl is a German Shep/Husky mix. She's the exact same way Voodoo is with lay down, except with Sit. She'll lay down the first time I say it, but she'll take a command or two for her to actually sit. Studdorn girl she is, she definitely got the personality of a Husky.
Ooh! I know I'm late, but is that a Julius K9 harness I see? My service goat in training has one and obviously harnesses are harder to find for goats, but I was slightly worried it looked unprofessional haha. So awesome to see another handler using one!!!
I love watching you guy's videos since my next service dog will be a husky. So it gives me a better perspective of how things like this will be. Spike (my service dog for my aspergers etc.) Is a Pomeranian but he actually acts pretty similar to Voodoo and does work pretty similar and yes he too knows down very well and still does it on the second or sometimes third time of me telling him lol. Yeah Pomeranians can be stubborn too. I see his similarities to Voodoo but I'm guessing it's cuz they're both part of the spitz family and Nordic breeds. Also the trainer I worked with has same methods as you. And a bit of the stuff we do is also self taught.
Walmart just put up new "Service Dogs only, no dogs in carts" signs. So I still saw five dogs in the Walmart I was in, one baby Pit Bull in a cart, only one dog with a Service Dog harness.
Hello I have arthritis so i am often in a lot of pain. i am also an amputee so I have a lack of balance. along with those I have anxiety and depression. I am thinking about getting a service dog. I live in Minnesota. I would love to have a husky as a service dog. I am also a college student would that be a problem? do i need to have it trained by a professional to register with ADA? Did you go to classes to learn how to train her or how were you able to have her a service dog? these videos are amazing thank you for posting them.
Thank you! I'm sorry to hear about your disabilities! I wouldn't recommend huskies as Service Dogs because they're incredibly hard to train and require 2-3 hours of exercise at least per day, which for a lot of people isn't doable. I work from home and my disabilities aren't physically inhibiting so I'm able to dedicate 2-3 hours of physical exercise and 1+ hour a day of mental stimulation which is why she is so calm when out :) To have a Service Dog you have to be prescribed one by a medical doctor (specifically task trained SD, not an ESA) so once that's out of the way training can be simple or difficult depending on how much you know about dog training to begin with. I didn't know much but spent months and hours per day researching and learning from SD handlers on Instagram and Facebook to learn how to train her! Service Dog's don't have an official registry but I do recommend putting them through the AKC CGC test just to have it on their name :)
Hey! Just wanted to let the commenter know that you do NOT have to be prescribed a service dog by a doctor. You can select your own dog and do your own handler training. Your Service Dog just needs to mitigate your disability. So for example, my service dog does multiple mobility tasks that help me throughout the day. Just wanted to let Arrian know so that you don't feel discouraged about training your own dog. Best of luck!
Keri Zondler what makes a service dog a service dog, anyone can train their dog, is that all that need to happen. Then you can just call it a service dog. How does that work exactly. ?
Lexieeemars If you're picking a dog out, try to find one with a good temperament. Research as much as you can prior on what breed that you think will work best for you. Labs and golden retrievers are the most common but any breed can work as long as its size and temperament fit what you need. You can then begin training your service dog in training to mitigate your needs so for example item retrieval, deep pressure therapy, stabilization, etc. train the dog all the tasks that you need to help you. They should also be able to pass a public access test. Not required to be tested but making sure that your dog is always representing service dogs properly w/their behavior. No barking, no growling, no jumping, listens to your commands, knows down stays, ignores distractions, etc. Most service dogs take about 2 years to train. Your dog needs to be ready for any situation that could arise for you or in public. If you're talking about for your brother, I don't know much for autism dogs but there are tons of programs and organizations that specialize in that. Search google for them and you can reach out. Tell them his needs and ask about their application process for a dog. I won't lie, there is usually a hefty waitlist so be prepared for it to take several years and that you guys might have to do some fundraising to help w/costs. I hope this helped some! Best of luck to you and your brother 💕
Omg!!! You guys are doing awesome! I totally agree with you and your training methods and it's sooo good having a dog be able to be off leash no matter where or what's going on. Seeing this video reminds me how my dog Spike and I are a little rusty on our skills. Its been hella rainy and cold here too. So yeah I'm like you and don't really do too well in the cold eeither so both Spike & I hibernate lol. But it's putting that winter chunk on us :( yeah maybe I'll try going to the mall in the day time and brush up on our skills. And well both get some exercise. Ok he's always on point it's me who needs the training lol. Also when Voodoo does the check ins do you give her a command? Or does she automatically check in on her own?
dropping the vests near her i think is great practice ! nice one....your right you might drop things /food....and it wont bug her if/when that happens GREAT job (again )
Hi 👋 I added your UA-cam name to my recent video along with a few others that inspired me to train my own service dog ☺️ and I also subscribed to you because I like your videos and love your dog!
wow I stumbled upon this video looking for ideas to teach my puppy he is going to be a service dog. this is a top notch video . My hats off to you incredible work on your part and your great dog. How old is your dog in this vidoe ? I was going to ask what kind of camera are you using to vidoe take while he is beside you. because your view is perfect ? I am hooked now! Once again great job : ) From: Lucy Many Blessings
Thank you so much for the comment! She is about 1 year 10 months in this video! She turns 2 on March 13th. I use a Sony a7S and the Sony 20mm f2.8 lens for the wide angle shots! It's my favorite camera set up!
If only my husky was so attentive. I take him into all stores where he is allowed because he is such a good boy. I get asked a lot if he is a service dog and of course I reply 'no', but I take that as a compliment.
I agree with clipping service dogs to the vest mine doesn't really like being on her collar she does what shes supposed to do but its easier for her to work when her leash is o her vest
So I have a husky myself. And I want to get him in to being a service dog as well, for my anxiety and panic attacks as well. Do you have a video of getting voodoo into being a service dog too? I really need pointers for him. I'm not too too familure with getting them started
Little Husky Voodoo it has only increased since I retired her. she is 13 and she doesn't go at least once a week to the beach and twice to the park she makes sure I hear her complains
I have a year old husky I've been training to be my service dog for the past 4-5 months. Your husky is amazing at her job and I would love to ask some questions/get some advice on training. I was originally going to email you at the email you provided but you've stated that it's for concerns on the video so I wanted to ask before emailing you about anything other than a video concern. BTW Voodoo is beautiful and looks so much like my husky as far as the facial markings!
She is such a smart dog. And nice voice overs. (for some reason I can't do voice overs😂) voodoo is very well trained. I hope you don't mind me asking but how did you train her to do dpt because comet gets scared to lay on my (Comets still in training) lap. Omg you also live in Idaho. Same😉 love your vids.
My SD is the same way with lay down he doesnt want to lay on cold floor but he will lay on wood or carpet just not tile but we are working on laying down better on tile
Can you please please please post more often also more training videos cus i have a husky also and want to train him to be so well behaved as voodoo ❤🐾
I would say it's smart to have stuff fall cause if you for some reason have to move her quick and something falls she won't spaz out on you or any one else.
you have done an amazing job in training her. I have a bully breed SD she's stubborn and was trained using positive reinforcement and because of early retirement I now have a prospect. I am open to e-collar and prong training of course with positive reinforcement. Do use food for task training and prong/e-collar for healing
To have a Service Dog you need to be diagnosed with a debilitating disability, but in terms of behavior it takes a lot of consistency and persistence from a young age :)
Hello! Im in the process of getting a service dog. Got any training tips for a dog to not get distracted by objects, other dogs or human? And also tips for training them? I especially liked it when she put pressure on your lap! What commands does she have to know to do that? Thanks!
Just lots of positive exposure and conditioning from a young age and rewarding calm behavior around it! Also it's called DPT (deep pressure treatment) and is used to lower heart rate!
I'm new here! Do you train service dogs for PTSD service? Crowd control, med reminders and to interfere with anxiety? I too am wanting to get a service dog for my PTDS but those areas listed are my main needs!
as someone with no knowledge of training a service dog, it's obvious to even me that your sd is such a hardworking girl! she did a great job in this video
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your comment!

If you still need help you can always watch my UA-cam channel. You can also message me personally on my Instagram. I just barely got a new sdit, my Siberian husky retired this year and I now have a 16 week old Great Pyrenees/ border collie mix puppy! I am training him on my channel and walking people through it step by step.
One more thing, I liked that you did the voice over commentary. That worked really well. You did a good job on that.
Paradise Gained yes, voiceover was great
"and if you dont like it. You dont have to watch my videos that's perfectly fine." Died laughing.
I do think it's important for a dog to be able to be off leash trained as well
Hahaha thank you!
(Jk . Just saw your video on off leash training .)
The Mini Educator is the best one and the only one I'll ever recommend! I's the best one you can buy, especially for long coated dogs!
Do these have a shock mechanism? Not sure what an e-collar is.
I always try to talk to people and inform them where I can!
This was wonderful! I'm currently training my dog to help me with my anxiety/depression and you've given me several responses to teach him! I am also glad to see a husky that can be off-leash; I know how much they like to run!
Thank you!!
She is so beautiful. I absolutely love her ears and eyes.
Thank you!
Little Husky Voodoo how do you start e collar training and what e collar do you use I'd love to start this with my SD
I had two dogs to help me but niether worked. One was to wild (boarder collie) and the other one would only listen to my mom
That is the sassiest walk I've ever seen and i LOVE it lmao
There's a lot I want to say here, but I can't really get it all into words so here goes. This is really informational and very cool. I love that you explained everything and why you did it and what others might think of your training mechanisms. I like that you treated her, but not excessivly. Also, Voodoo is a beautiful husky.
I believe it stands for deep pressure therapy
I have only just started training my puppy to be a PSA, she is 12 weeks old and although she is young she loves to learn and catches onto things incredibly fast.
No way!! Where in Idaho?!
I actually live in IF!
I don't know why but I find service dog videos very interesting and I could watch her videos for hours
Thank you!
Mackenzie Pavloff, I'm in the prosses of training my rottweiler for my service dog. yes there are very stubborn but also smart. good luck my friend.

Service Dog Dexter atleast Rottweilers aren’t as stubborn as huskies are! 😂😂
Very wonderful video. I am on my third service dog, who of course is wonderful lol. Hehehe. Love your explanation of why you do things. Just a really refreshing video of a good job training from you and excellent work from your dog.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
any one else with a service dog get huge amounts of anxiety just trying to go to the store be a use you're scared of how people will react to you being in the store or restaurant. it makes me feel like I can't even go any where because of the general public. they're do nasty towards service animals.
Haha yes!! This so much!!!
That's awesome! It's good to know that my video could help you out!
silvertoungue65 im the same way but im 17 and just graduated high school. school was hell id panic easily i couldn't stay in the cafeteria cause it was to much, i have scars on my hand from anxiety scratching, my mom ALWAYS yells at me for shaking my leg which i never even realize i do. and i cant leave the house cause i know ill panic if im myself. anxiety sucks. so does depression. having both is a personal hell. i feel like i cant do anything on my own and im constantly feel beaten down which doesnt help me.
I'm so glad I finally found someone who is pro off leash. I'm training my pembroke the exact way you train voodoo, but I don't use e collars.
That's awesome!
I love her so much such a pretty and intelligent dog!!
Thank you!
omg i am jealouse. money, time and effort paid off. you invested your life into this. very proud of you. i watched most of your videos because i really want a husky.
Thanks for the comment Adam! It's definitely been helpful and really helps her stay focused on me and what we're doing!
You are doing great. And so is Voodoo. Seriously Impressive.
Thank you so much!
DPT = Deep Pressure Therapy
Amazing video, amazing training, thank you for sharing !!!!!!
I love watching how great she does. Huskies get a bad name for being stubborn. But they can be trained. My Husky Yuki is a service dog. I love him so much! The only challenge I have is when he goes to the doctors. He gets really scared and is so hard to handle.
That's awesome! They definitely do!
That's so awesome!
I love this video. I shows training and shows how service dogs do their assigned tasks! I am going to subscribe!
Thank you!
I absolutely love your dog!! Your training as well as your dog's seems to be doing amazing so good job to y'all!!
What a beautiful, well-trained animal! And, yes, you smart-asses, I mean the dog.
Great video!! Voodoo's training is top notch! :)
love it i have a pure husky and she is just amazing she not a service dog but loves working.
That's awesome!!
GREAT job i LOVE the focus she's giving you! great job both of you!
Thank you!
Thank you so much! They're definitely a difficult breed to work with, but once they learn that SD work is a job for them they love it!
Good job voodoo!! Yukon is still learning about isles. Good job pup!!
(Sorry if this reply was all over the place)
Again thank you for replying!
I'm pretty sure DPT means Deep Pressure Therapy not Direct Pressure Treatment but it could be both.
Signing ASL
You are correct
Wow, I’ve never seen a husky service dog before! She’s amazing!
Thank you!
I'm jealous of your heel, damn
hope I can get my heel that tight eventually
It took a ton of work and practice but she does still mess up sometimes! It's all about consistency and working them through their bad days! You can definitely do it!
I know this video is old but I have an Aussie puppy I am training to be my service dog and sometimes it gets frustrating so it’s nice to see some other people training a stubborn/ higher energy dog
I love your videos! You have such a dazzling personality. Keep it up!
This is extremely helpful and informative.
Thank you!
Amazing! She is great!
omg i think we have similar disabilities haha! ghost performs dpt for anxiety and dissociative episodes (as well as other tasks, his main one is guiding me during dissociative episodes cuz i tend to get lost). that's so cool!
Thank you!
subscribed. thank you. I am owner training two SD's one is a main service dog that is in training, and one is my backup SD.
Wow, she is very well trained! Great job!!
Thank you!
Little Husky Voodoo your welcome!😁
Voodoo is absolutly amazing!
My husky is still failing to follow my steps. She often got disctracted and wanna smell this, dig a bit that on the road. But I am not giving her up.
How old is Voodoo?
Thank you! She is 2 years old :)
I'm self training my girl, a pit/GSD mix and I also use Walmart a lot. I train off leash as well. Love the video! How did you make the end clipart?
Thank you! That's awesome, keep up the good work! I commissioned an artist for the husky jumping and put the ferns and writing over it myself :)
I subscribed also, you really deserve more subscribers than you have!
Thank you!
She's such a sweet smart baby!
good job!!keep up the good work!!
Thank you!
Walmart just put up new "Service Dogs only, no dogs in carts" signs. So I still saw five dogs in the Walmart I was in, one baby Pit Bull in a cart, only one dog with a Service Dog harness.
You do a very well job at training your dog🙂
Thank you!
I love how u speak your mind
I AM IMPRESSED WITH YOUR TRAINING OF VOODOO. I AM GOING TO BE TRAINING A SERVICE DOG GREAT DANE PUPPY FOR MOBILITY AND MY DIABETES THANKS AGAIN
Of course! Thank you!
You are amazing with your dog
Thank you!
Ok thank you very much I just wanted to she what people recommended!
My bad... SO SORRY! I think I was a little cranky that day... Sorry, sometimes sometimes I can hyper critical... You are an awesome trainer...
Thank you so much!
Hi 👋 I added your UA-cam name to my recent video along with a few others that inspired me to train my own service dog ☺️ and I also subscribed to you because I like your videos and love your dog!
And people say huskies can't be service dogs lol. I have a husky sd as well and he is surprising me and your videos keep me going
Do you train dogs for other people? Or is it a recommendation for the owner of the dog to train them?
I don't train dogs but have helped people in the past and currently am!
This is really helpful! Thank you!!! Also I live in Idaho as well!!!!
Nice I love balanced training
Thank you!
wow I stumbled upon this video looking for ideas to teach my puppy he is going to be a service dog. this is a top notch video . My hats off to you incredible work on your part and your great dog. How old is your dog in this vidoe ?
I was going to ask what kind of camera are you using to vidoe take while he is beside you. because your view is perfect ? I am hooked now! Once again great job : ) From: Lucy
Many Blessings
Thank you so much for the comment! She is about 1 year 10 months in this video! She turns 2 on March 13th. I use a Sony a7S and the Sony 20mm f2.8 lens for the wide angle shots! It's my favorite camera set up!
I LOVE your techniques!! Our Husky is good, but not that good! We live in AZ and he doesn't get a lot of time to work during the summer... :-(
Thanks for sharing! Beautiful dog!
awesome video love your dog shes so cute and smart
I want to own a husky one day ugh I'm jealous you have one xD
They're definitely a hard breed to own but are so rewarding! Going through a rescue or reputable breeder are great ways to find awesome huskies!
Beautiful dog
Great job !
So I have a husky myself. And I want to get him in to being a service dog as well, for my anxiety and panic attacks as well. Do you have a video of getting voodoo into being a service dog too? I really need pointers for him. I'm not too too familure with getting them started
I don't have any videos currently but am working on putting some out!
I have Golden does the same, getting somewhat cranky when she thinks we are going to the park and we don't.
It's annoying but I understand her being let down haha
Little Husky Voodoo it has only increased since I retired her. she is 13 and she doesn't go at least once a week to the beach and twice to the park she makes sure I hear her complains
I have a year old husky I've been training to be my service dog for the past 4-5 months. Your husky is amazing at her job and I would love to ask some questions/get some advice on training. I was originally going to email you at the email you provided but you've stated that it's for concerns on the video so I wanted to ask before emailing you about anything other than a video concern. BTW Voodoo is beautiful and looks so much like my husky as far as the facial markings!
Thank you! You can absolutely email me!
Good job! Your sooo cute together. Blessings
Can you please please please post more often also more training videos cus i have a husky also and want to train him to be so well behaved as voodoo ❤🐾
Yes!! We're working on more videos right now since I had our baby!
Kim and The Dogs ❤❤❤
I would say it's smart to have stuff fall cause if you for some reason have to move her quick and something falls she won't spaz out on you or any one else.
I agree! It's super important to train!
you have done an amazing job in training her. I have a bully breed SD she's stubborn and was trained using positive reinforcement and because of early retirement I now have a prospect. I am open to e-collar and prong training of course with positive reinforcement.
Do use food for task training and prong/e-collar for healing
This is sssooo awesome. I just adopted a husky. I would love to train her in this way. How do you even start? Any tips?
To have a Service Dog you need to be diagnosed with a debilitating disability, but in terms of behavior it takes a lot of consistency and persistence from a young age :)
Can you show us what she's like with cats or how to train them to stay focast from the cats
Absolutely! We're actually living with a cat now and I've been doing lots of training with her around it!
my service dog in training used to lick carts too! im so happy im not the only one
Hey did you train your dog completely by yourself? Thats really amazing.
I did!
I love you're videos and you have a beautiful dog 😁
Thank you!
Omg your in Idaho! I’m in Idaho too!!
Hey! I actually owner trained Voodoo for myself!
