- I was so excited about arriving in Lombok, which seemed so green, with beautiful scenery and nice people. But my accommodation choice was not pleasing at all and this is how it went.

Do not feel bad to leave a hotel that did not fulfill what they promised in advertisement, because by doing so you are sending them the message to improve their service, and this is beneficial for them in the long run. As long as you tell them nicely what the problem is.
For 42 dollar it's heaven he is disappointed to leave

Hi Davud, Since Lombok is so empty you don't need to book in advance. You can just go where you like and ask for accommodations when you like the place. Mostly you ou will pay less (after bargaining) because they don't need to pay a commission to booking
Im not surprised its abandoned. Today when many countries are lifting all covid restrictions and open borders for free entry Indonesia still requires compulsory vaccination to enter and pcr for domestic travel. Everything except probably Bali will remain abandoned until they lift these stupid restrictions.
I have been on pre-covid Lombok and it was always lively and touristy.

Davud, indonesia is not an english speaking country. In the remote places i am sure they mostly speak their own language or bahasa indonesia.
Of course, I would never make such a comment about village vendors, or businesses in remote places. But when it comes to the hospitality business and especially resorts - my comment is quite valid.
@@Davud_Akh we used to train students in hospitality from indonesia before covid19. There are many who came from bali too. I was very very surprise they cannot speak a word of english. I asked them since they are in hotel industry, how are they going to communicate with foreigners. So their college failed in their job because language skill is important. In the end, we had to put them in housekeeping. We could have place them at reception like japanese students but even the japanese speak better than the indonesian students !!!!. So we put japanese students at customer service and reception, and indonesian students in housekeeping.

@@keangwooichoo6138 That's no excuse, look at Sri Lanka, a country with less fortunes for students than Indonesia's yet their hospitality field is much beyond. If your demographic of visitors are mutual to the English language then don't make excuses ESPECIALLY in the hospitality field.

My friend you remind me so much of Ragnar Lothbrok. You are so similar like he was is the series. Liked exploring and took in alot of religions and cultures but he was much more fearless and sometimes brutal hehe.

Very nice view with private pool facing the sea and the three small island at lombok ( gili air, gili meno & gili trawangan ). Also you can stay at the island too.. I’ve been there before the covid pandemic. Enjoy your stay!

Can try Holiday Resort Lombok at Senggigi beach . I stay there before few years back.. the beach at the resort are beautiful..and can see sunset at the beach..

This place super luxury but no serves. If there is lots people it's super luxury resorts. U do good live this palce. See next hotel.

Davud, we travel to expand our world views and to experience the difference in culture, culinary, architecture, arts and society. You started out well but of late you’ve become very negative and often critical of the cultural differences. In Indonesia you dont seem to appreciate the culture, the arts, and the culinary. The wood sculptures each have significant attachment to the different tribes in Indonesia. Bali and the West Nusantara pride themselves with outdoor shower and yet you belittle the outdoor shower in Lombok. US$ 42 is not a big deal, resort developers and owners need to make profit. You get what you pay for. I applaud your generosity to the street food vendors. But when making comparison consider the economy of the country you are visiting since not all countries gave the same level of service or value as your Azerbaijan.

That price is already super cheap. The owner may not even be able to cover their maintenance costs, especially when the place is empty. And actually, expecting a pool in such small island which often have fresh water scarcity is a kind of insensitive.
