Sadly this is all taking place during one chapter at the end of the game, and that character barely shows up otherwise. He's more prominent in other games in the Puyo Puyo series, though. Especially the old Sega Genesis games.
Schezo once won a tournament for which the prize was one wish. Though all he sought when he entered the tournament was more power, in the end he changed his wish. He wished that people would stop calling him a pervert.

Since I’ve noticed some comments from people who don’t know about Puyo, here’s context! The white haired guy with the sword is name Schezo, and he’s a dark mage. His main gimmick is that because he’s stupid I guess he’s constantly making remarks that come off as innuendos (for example: the entire video). He doesn’t actually intend to come off as a creep but unfortunately that constantly happens and the only character who tolerates him is Arle (who’s not in this chapter). Schezo is constantly on a quest for power so that’s why he goes after Sig, who is baby. Sig’s entire thing is that he’s neutral in everything except for one special thing. So that’s why he’s so calm with all this. And yes there is a reason why he has a red hand but I probably shouldn’t say. The other characters here are Lidelle (or Rider), who kinda just exists. Glasses guy is Klug, a friend of Sig, who’s absolutely hilarious and also a nerd. That pink fish is referred to as The Ocean Prince, and he’s more relevant in other games. The blond girl is Amitie, another one of Sig’s friends and one of the main characters of the franchise. And last but not least is Lemres, the Comet Warlock who’s like one of the only characters with a brain. Anyway yeah okay Puyo Puyo Tetris it’s hilarious and genuinely great
The canonical reason for why Schezo talks the way he does is because he simply refuses to change the way he is used to speaking, and his way of speaking is hundreds of years outdated, cause he's actually over 800 years old

People used to call him a pervert instead because of all his accidental innuendos, and he wished that people wouldn't call him that anymore. The wish was interpreted literally, so now everyone calls him a creep instead, which is actually kinda worse because now he actually can't get rid of his reputation as a creep because it's what people will automatically think of him.
My favourite part about this is how it perfectly captures the Puyo Puyo art style, but manages to still feel uniquely original--especially in terms of animation. But my heart is broken by the lack of Arle ;;n;;
I LOVE the animation! it portrays Schezo as just a verbal nitwit rather than an actual creeper, his vocabulary is... unique and not something he quite understands why, it's proper english to its most "literal" context but in turn everything he says is taken OUT of context thus grants him the nickname "creeper".
Somehow, without knowing anything about these characters, I’ve managed to fall in love with every single one of them through this video. I even ended up buying the game because of this. Wonderful job on the animation, and I’d love to see more of your works in the future!

This is a sign of hope. Sega stopped making Puyo in the west cause Fever sold poorly. If Sega sees this, they'll see that people DO want more English Puyo. Thank you, for making the dream happen.

This was my first experience with puyo puyo Tetris and the end scene made me think he actually got the hand. the actual ending is more wholesome than I thought.

Yeah it's weird how they changed the ending from how it originally was in the game. The game had Sig manage to talk his way out of the situation by saying he keeps a family of bugs in his hand, and then scaring Schezo away since Schezo hates bugs. That's a funnier ending imo
The craziest part of this video is it isn't even audio taken out of context. I can imagine people would instantly assume that this is cherry picked dialogue but this is pretty much exactly what happens.

This is fantastic. This looks exactly like how I would picture a Puyo Puyo animated series. It makes me WANT a Puyo Puyo animated series. Don't ask how that would work. I'm sure they could find a way, especially considering how likable the characters are and how much there actually is within the Puyo Puyo universe that could be explored. Just think of all the possibilities, especially since the games are kind of limited in their storytelling potential due to having to find reasons for characters to get into Puyo battles. Also, I really cannot believe how much they got away with when it came to Schezo's dialogue. I mean, this is the series that, once it finally localized, decided to change a character's name from Satan to Dark Prince. Guess they just cared less about the dirty jokes and more about religious references.

As someone who enjoyed the original context of these lines but felt like the timing/line delivery/limited visuals worked against the humor of them, honestly? your visuals worked PERFECTLY to bridge that gap. Mad props!
This was my first experience with puyo puyo Tetris and the end scene made me think he actually got the hand. the actual ending is more wholesome than I thought.

Yeah it's weird how they changed the ending from how it originally was in the game. The game had Sig manage to talk his way out of the situation by saying he keeps a family of bugs in his hand, and then scaring Schezo away since Schezo hates bugs. That's a funnier ending imo

This is fantastic. This looks exactly like how I would picture a Puyo Puyo animated series. It makes me WANT a Puyo Puyo animated series. Don't ask how that would work. I'm sure they could find a way, especially considering how likable the characters are and how much there actually is within the Puyo Puyo universe that could be explored. Just think of all the possibilities, especially since the games are kind of limited in their storytelling potential due to having to find reasons for characters to get into Puyo battles.
Also, I really cannot believe how much they got away with when it came to Schezo's dialogue. I mean, this is the series that, once it finally localized, decided to change a character's name from Satan to Dark Prince. Guess they just cared less about the dirty jokes and more about religious references.

I think I've rewatched this like 20 times since when it was in my recommended section. It was also the reason I got into Puyo Puyo Tetris (again). I have played the game before, a while ago, but I wasn't like a huge fan at the time and I didn't know what I was doing.
