Ho after your last video I thought we would never see this game on the channel again. Nice to see another video about this game (even if the rule really need some proof reading ... 😅)
Good stuff Ash. I really like this game. I think it’s a good compliment to Frostgrave. Maybe Osprey would consider an expanded hardcover reissue like they did with Gaslands.
Actually it looks a lot like Terrace -! Nice work Ash, thanks for all the coverage of solo gaming and good to see the old rust factory terrain is still hiding zombies. Also, if you do hire Mackenzie remember he comes back several times. . .
Ohhh finally! I am so happy you are making some ZONA Alfa videos again! Loved the first ones, got me into buying this rulebook and starting on the epic journey! Bring em on, mate! much love from germany!
I’m really glad you’ve come back to Zona Alfa. You had great minis for it and your coverage was fantastic so I was a bit bummed when it disappeared. Love what you do so keep it up! Oh, and I love the Canadian favouring.
This looks like one that can use figures I already have on hand, Thanks for the play-through (plus I love painting rust effects, so I’ll probably give these rules a look)
Heh. That thing with sniper rifle with scope being hard to benefit from on a normal table crops up in Necromunda too. Their long-las/longrifle/sniper rifles all look crazy cheap and then you realize they'll almost never get a bonus to hit because LoS is almost never longer than short range for them - and a telescopic sight extends their short range bonus (which is zero) to long range, so utterly useless.
All I have running through my head during this is "Where the walls are lined all yellow, grey and sinister Hung with pictures of our parents' prime ministers"
Ironically the original STALKER novel ‘Roadside Picnic’ is actually set in 1970s Canada... or at least what a Soviet underground author imagined 1970s Canada to be like!
Thanks for another entertaining battle report. If you're interested in another solitaire skirmish ruleset check out Battlespace: Ultra Modern Solo Skirmish Game. It's pretty decent and good for lockdown games
Hi, just got the game and found you had a lot of vids on it. Am I too late to ask where did you get the broken cars you use on the terrain in this video and on the one you did a year prior? Thanks!
Could anyone recommend a good place to get minis for this game? The solo aspect really interests me. I checked Anvil Industry but (unless I did it wrong) you have to "custom-build" the minis and I was a bit confused by all the options
I'm confused because it says low rolls are good and high rolls are bad but a detector or toolkit ADD to the skill check so I don't know what it means ...
After mods, you roll that number or lower. So if your skill is 5, rollin a 1-5 = success. If an equipment is +1 then the 5 becomes a 6, and now a 1-6 succeeds.
i was always wondering how the 30% hardened fighter cost reduction for Idependents works...how do you calculate 30% off a hardened fighter that costs 3 Khrabost?
This game looks so fun. Prefer this skirmish and exploration style games over the large scale battles of other games.
Was thinking to myself "There's got to be a STALKER tabletop" and here we are.
Ho after your last video I thought we would never see this game on the channel again. Nice to see another video about this game (even if the rule really need some proof reading ... 😅)
As soon as I heard John A. I wondered if you were going that route with your naming structure. You did not disappoint.
Took me a sec when he said Benny and JT before I realized that he continued the format with the rookies.
Good stuff Ash. I really like this game. I think it’s a good compliment to Frostgrave. Maybe Osprey would consider an expanded hardcover reissue like they did with Gaslands.
Zona Alfa is a great game, super glad your filming some more battle reports.
I love the growing exposure this game is getting. First heard about it during your “Lets Play”. Keep up the great work, Ash 👍
House rules: hunting rifle/bolt action rifle: 1 firepower/54" range, 2 damage, zone script 350
Ballistic helmet: reroll once on the battle scar chart
I always thought it was odd there was no class for the iconic mosin nagant or anything haha. I added my own
@@corrosionsting Nicely done. Mosin’s definitely have a place in the fluff of this game.
Actually it looks a lot like Terrace -!

The zone is a dangerous place! The rust factory is probably one of my favourite terrain pieces I’ve ever owned Pete! Thanks again so much!
"The Sinister Ministers" - - A Ruby Rhod reference?
(And I dropped a link to this video over on the "Stalker 7" facebook page.)
I was thinking East end Hamilton before you even mentioned it. Scary.
Glad to see more Zona and Frostgrave stuff!
Ohhh finally!

Bring em on, mate!
much love from germany!
Love the names of your guys! "Johnny Mac!"
Very interesting! Please continue. Good game! 💪🙂👍
I can only imagine how pleased you are with your names. Well played
As a Canuck in Exile and a former Poli Sci graduate, I never thought something implicating PMs could be so fun👍
Sinister Ministers for ever!
Excellent - I've just started reading Roadside Picnic so this vid is perfect timing!
It’s a trip. Enjoy!
Love this game please keep doing these
I am a bit surprised to see this game after a long break from Let's Play. But it is a welcome surprise.
Awesome table and nice game.
Long breaks happen mostly because there’s always so many new game’s to explore. I’m pumped to be playing it again it’s a ton of fun!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Defiantly gonna pick it up and try to play Necromunda with it. :P
I’m really glad you’ve come back to Zona Alfa. You had great minis for it and your coverage was fantastic so I was a bit bummed when it disappeared. Love what you do so keep it up! Oh, and I love the Canadian favouring.
Nice job, thanks for Sharing Ash!

It’s a great flexible adventure game.

As a Canadian, this squad rules!
So excited to see this back Ash! Thank you
Happy to see more Zona Alfa, that was fun, thanks Ash.
I really want to like Zona Alfa but the rulebook could do with another go over in my opinion. Great video ash, love seeing all the solo stuff.
All I have running through my head during this is "Where the walls are lined all yellow, grey and sinister
Hung with pictures of our parents' prime ministers"
That was great. Zona Alpha is excellent
The Canadian Exclusion Zone: Zone Eh?
Those raider minis look really cool and the paint job is great.
Ironically the original STALKER novel ‘Roadside Picnic’ is actually set in 1970s Canada... or at least what a Soviet underground author imagined 1970s Canada to be like!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Was his idea of Canada far off the mark? :D
It was basically the Soviet Union at the time with different car brands hahaha
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Well, it produced you, so it can't have been all bad.
This is great! Thank you Ash.
Love that Darker Than Black reference
I love the terrain! Great stuff
Nice Video:) could you please say, where you have bought this great minis ? ;)
They’re mostly Anvil Industries!
"... and secret labs" - well what better excuse to buy some Battle Systems sci fi terrain?!
When hostiles spawn they do get one movement action instantly correct? I’m looking at pg43.
Thanks for another entertaining battle report. If you're interested in another solitaire skirmish ruleset check out Battlespace: Ultra Modern Solo Skirmish Game. It's pretty decent and good for lockdown games
That's great terrain
I like the tarkov stalker field
Hi, just got the game and found you had a lot of vids on it. Am I too late to ask where did you get the broken cars you use on the terrain in this video and on the one you did a year prior? Thanks!
They’re old Armourcast vehicles!
9:52. The movie you are trying to reference. Netflix's Spectral.
Well welly well well well! I’m gonna make a Gang Green Gang!
LOL. If this is supposed to be “1970s Canada”, none of the figures look anything like 1970s Canadians.
More Zona Alfa 🔥
I am eagerly waiting for a package from Osprey including copy of Zone Alfa. For three weeks already. Stupid Brexit :/
Could anyone recommend a good place to get minis for this game? The solo aspect really interests me. I checked Anvil Industry but (unless I did it wrong) you have to "custom-build" the minis and I was a bit confused by all the options
Try Spectre minis for modern day operator type models :) www.spectreminiatures.com
These maybe? www.spectreminiatures.com/collections/undercover-operators
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Really good stuff! I truly appreciate it!
What models did you use for you radiation looking ghosts. They look great!
Can anyone explain (preferably with an example) how exactly skill checks work? The book is a bit confusing on this
I'm confused because it says low rolls are good and high rolls are bad but a detector or toolkit ADD to the skill check so I don't know what it means ...
After mods, you roll that number or lower. So if your skill is 5, rollin a 1-5 = success. If an equipment is +1 then the 5 becomes a 6, and now a 1-6 succeeds.
Is there a way to give more wounds to your characters? In the advance section, they only mention the other stats.
Medkits are effectively another wound.
i was always wondering how the 30% hardened fighter cost reduction for Idependents works...how do you calculate 30% off a hardened fighter that costs 3 Khrabost?
Pg 53. When hiring during a campaign. 2500 for hardened would be 1750.
@@cowfan9 thanks! :)
Ash where did you get the ghoul models? They are awesome
Hey so can you play on your own? Like a solo adventure
Yup! Honestly the game is at its best solo or cooperative!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames so it’s like dnd solo?
what are the minis in this video?
A mix of Anvil Industries, Massive Awesome, GW and a few more!
Pickering, clearly
