I love these colourful plant info tags! You can immediately see if this plant is suited for a place near the South facing window (sunny room, red) or rather fo a shadowy spot (cool room, blue) or something in between (warm room, yellow or even shady room, green). More nurseries and big box stores should include these...
Hello Richard, thank you so much for all your videos. In your UK store you have a great choice of tropical plants! And sold so big. I've never seen an anthurium with so many flowers sold in Mauritius, we mainly have baby plants in nurseries. The plant with the red and yellow flower next to the Tillandsia that you chose, is a Vriesa Splendens, seen in 24:11. I have it in my garden in Mauritius and the flower lasts for months! Then it will die and one or 2 more plants will grow next to it. It is the beginning of summer here and all the outdoor plants are blooming, specially the bougainvilleas, plumbagos and frangipanes. Thanks for the sharing.
Those Calathea you found near the rubber plants are actually Ctenanthe and they’re so much hardier! Their leaves are waxy and they’re no where near as fussy, one of my absolute favourites! Also pretty fast growers!
The Bellflowers at 21:36 are perennials, bloom from late spring thru summer, even to fall. if you deadhead old blooms. Interesting to see if they bloom year long in a house. They are outside hardy into a USA zone 3, which is montana where we get -30 F / -34 C in the winter. The roots still live and come back every year, each year the plant gets bigger. I have some that lasted over 8 years in my garden. slow growing, not rampant, likes full sun but can handle part shade. Great plants outside, love to try some inside.
23:20 “I can’t find any pots.” An entire room straight ahead filled with pots. 😂 Thanks for this video. I know it’s a year old, but it fulfilled my craving to go plant shopping…. Or maybe it made it worse. I’m not sure yet. 😅
The one that looks like a calathea is a Ctenanthe burle-marxii amabilis. It's a very easy house plant, and one beginners should choose instead of calathea 👍🏼
Bird of paradise plant is a Strelitzia. They can be really beautiful and tropical looking. And I love a good umbrella plant. Always nice and easy to care for. Great job on the videos !
My name is Amy. I am new subscriber to ur channel. All of ur Your videos are so helpful to me. My hubby bought me 2 white birds of paradise and 1 baby Orang birds of paradise, I got some bromelaid plants, and I got one philodendron split leaf plant, I got starfish sansevieria plant, I got more than a few snake plants too. I am a huge plant lover. I do have a beautiful umbrella plant growing on a bonsai. All my plants are so very easy to care for. I got a baby palm plant. I truly do appreciate ur helpful tips on plants. My 2 white birds of paradise a few feet tall now, still growing. Wish I had a Ikea in my state. I even got a philodendron narrow plant.
I think that’s a banana plant? Your videos are enjoyable to watch, and you give good plant advice as well! The plant with the pink flower is a bromeliad. Loved the little citrus trees you’ve shown us, I would want to buy all of them if I was there!😂
I came here to say that you gave me a bit of a giggle and I appreciated it when you said the Venus Fly Traps looked a bit wet. They’re bog plants and love soaked medium. They often have their pot sitting in a bowl of distilled water so keep it wet at all times lol this video is old and maybe you know this by now
@@SheffieldMadePlants it’s okay, they’re unusual plants for sure. You seemed quite concerned and it gave me a giggle! I love your content and appreciation for plants! Thank you for doing what you love and sharing it with us! 😁❤️
Bromeliad or however you spell it flowers only once in its life.A lot of people throw them away after flowering but if you keep it it might produce pups but it could be years before the babies will flower.
We have the cactus no issues with it....and the purple one is a bromiliad...super easy care...you will be pro in no time...there are many varieties....I have never had the variety you just bought....but I believe they flower once and than any pups in the future you break off will flower again....again not sure about that exact one you got but it will be with you for years to come...your stores plants looked super nice and with the pots for such great prices....and selection was amazing...way better thsn any local store where I live! Ok see you soon!
It’s a sign that the plant has an excess of water stored in its leaves. These spots are like little sweat droplets, and guess what? They’re super easy to wash off. They won’t harm your plant. The white spots are made of lime or salts.
Thanks for the shopping vids. I'm enjoying plant shopping vicariously on youtube 😊 As this vid is from a yr ago, i guess you've already identified your bromeliad - a tillandsia commonly known as Pink Quill
Strelitzia nicolai, commonly known as the wild banana or giant white bird of paradise, is a species of banana-like plants with erect woody stems reaching a height of 6 m, and the clumps formed can spread as far as 3.5 m.
The first thing I want to do with neanthe Bella Palm is to separate those and make other plants and then I end up losing them to dryness. I sure do wish I knew how to transplant them with success.

Careful buying the tiny succulents. Sometimes they don't have roots and it's just a cutting in dirt

The colourful flower tops on the cacti look like a 5 minute craft creation to me 🤣
I know right!

There’s such a large selection! My local B&Q only has a 6x6ft area with the same plants there all the time
Thanks for taking us along! 😁🌵🌿🍃
Thanks for coming!
Always fun to see plants. I like what you picked out too. I wonder if you still have them. 😊
The cactus yes and he’s nice and big now 😁

You’ve got a great collection of plants. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. What state are you in?
@@SheffieldMadePlants I am in Washington state. Ty for asking. Thank u kindly. I even got a beautiful baby plant called: Pink Aechmea Bromeliad.
I think that green plant was a bird of paradise....with the big green leaves.....the name on the tag I bet was the science name!
A tricky one to pronounce!
A nice selection of plants here, will take a trip to my local store. Thanks for the tour!
Pleasure!
Strealitia is a plant with the paradise flowers .The ones you see in expensive bouquets

Will do!

Thanks for the tip
I had a pineapple plant gifted to me two years ago, it had four pups all still thriving, main plant still alive.
Cool!

Cool, I was worried it would be a short lived plant because it seemed pretty cheap.
Oooh I wished I bought my ficus teneke in a local store instead of ordering online as it came damaged last year. Still a beauty.
I believe that the white spots on Jade plants are natural wax and because it is cold it has not melted and so it looks like white spots.
Isn’t it salts from the water?

Give your bromelia water in the stem! That is the way they take up water
Got ya, thanks!
Plants are so much cheaper in the UK than in Sweden
Sweet little succulents in animal pots are good for gifts as well 👍
Absolutely
i rly like that you show the price of the plants.
not many youtubers do that
Great stuff 👍

Glad you like them!
The steralitzia is a bird of paradise. Once grew a couple from seed took 9 months to germinate 5 years to flower... then the buggers died on me ❤
Oh damn all that hard work!
those sure are some good prices there in the UK...
At 19:16, you asked what the name of that plat was. That is a Portulacaria afra, common name is Elephant Plant cause the elephants like to eat them.
Thanks 👍
I know them as "Spekboom". Have heard that they are edible. Had one once and would like one again but haven't seen them around my area lately.

❤❤❤
Bromeliads are pretty easy going.... needs plenty of indirect light though
Thanks I’ve put it next to my east facing window.
That is a bird of paradise, the plant you are not sure if it was a banana plant
Thanks! 😀
💚
Do you garden in your yard?
Yep
Where s big big box in montreal
That little one that looks like baby jade is an elephant bush.....
