  • Silk Plaster is a liquid wallpaper that doesn't require matching prints at the seams like traditional wallpaper. It's made up of a combination of cotton fibers, decorative mineral additives, and adhesive glue. To apply the wallpaper, add water to the dry mixture, then spread it onto the walls or ceilings using a trowel. The wallpaper comes in over 100 colors and can be easily patched for repairs.

The tackiest combo of powder blue, maroon-purple, hot and pastel pink, with a glittery white moon, and the thickest, chunky 3D clouds coming out of the walls, because she added glitter to some spackle. Idk how the landlord just missed that room but I was very surprised cuz the rest of the apartment had fresh paint and then I found that monstrosity. If it had been done well it would have been cool but it was such a diy gone wrong. I'd have moved n left it too lol.

Well, no. A hose would be far too much. You'd get painter's plastic (drop sheets) to cover the flooring near the walls and some old towels under the plastic to catch any water seeping under.
The "wallpaper" absorbs the water though which is why you're spraying it, to make it wet again.
Probably the easiest way would be to rent a steamer but, barring that option, get a spray bottle and spray the heck out of a square foot area and then leave it for 5 minutes and spray another area. Then you take a plastic scraper and just scrape it off the wall and drop it on the drop sheets or in a trash bag. Just like applying it, it's going to take a while to scrape all of it off and some of the glitter might stay stuck to the wall. Depending on the paint under this stuff, it might need new paint after.
And no, it's not environmentally friendly. Wallpaper isn't either. Neither are most paints. You'll be throwing away a lot of plastic you used to protect the floor as well as a bucketful of this stuff which is made of cotton.

    • @FavoriteMusicSongs

As an artist and environmentalist I see hidden potential here. One of the big issues we have is old clothes. Since it uses cotton fibers this could be more sustainable. Adding refective elements to the "gloop" or finishing it off with different levels of shine. Never underestimate the power of textures or colours. LOL. Maybe people may not agree but my curiosity has been awoken.

As quirky and fun as you might think all those designs will be, nothing is quite as adult, and versatile as a non latex paint. And if you hate it, you can just repaint it in an afternoon.
