    I'm sorry that such a great channel doesn't have more followers. And despite the mosquitoes, I'm going to Norway on my motorbike. I even bought a Garmin ZumoXT2 thanks to you. You're awesome, thanks a lot. And even these videos about the bike entertain me.

I get overwhelmed when I see you have another video up cause your place again is absolutely a dream home! Thank you Cindy. Yeah, I'm a tiny bit damaged of my work, so I like to have everything tidy and clean. Less time spent cleaning or moving stuff around. The Red and White is kinda iconic for the Scandinavian countries. You will see a lot of it over here. Really glad you enjoyed this episode as well. More to come this winter. Thank you. 🔥

      Thank you friend. It is really nice to see that it can be done, and it was a good idea to mix content in the same channel. It is always a gamble, but I think my audience appreciate many of the same things, and niching down to much can be to repetitive. So there will be much more of this going forward as well. And you tent has sparked an interest in me, since there is strict rules about building in the water line. But more of that in an upcoming project. There is also a slight chance I will be included in the planing 🎥😜 Cheers

    the two most dreaded "w" words for me; Work and Winter!
    The location of your family's cabin is stellar.

      Haha, I do think the rock is part of the mountain also. No chance to move it, I need that sledge hammer to go on it, Maybe drill some hols in it and fill it with water and let the force of winter do the job for me. Thanks for the love and support mate. Talk again soon. Cheers

    Hi Thomas. We just left Norway today to get back to France. I realize we were pretty close, renting a cabin in Vikaneset - Eikemo. We were amazed by the non-stop rain this early morning. 😅

      The weather the last couple of weeks has been really terrible. And today we got over 160 mm of downpour at Vikanes, where the cabin you rented is located. It has been insane amount of water coming down the last 24 hours. Vikanes is just a couple of minutes away from where I have my cabin, so let's make sure to have a range check for that next time I'm down south or you are here. Cheers 🙏🏻

    Enda en fantastisk "alternativ" film fra deg, og perfekt timing da. Satt meg akkurat ned på nattskiftet nå foran pc skjermene med kaffekoppen. En herlig start på natten Thomas! Setter stor pris på folk som deg som gjør seg virkelig flid i faget og forteller en god og tilfredstillende historie gjennom kameraet av noe som egentlig ikke er så veldig begiveningsfullt. Når man lager en halvtimes film med vedlikehold og chill på hytta, og det faktisk er meget underholdene - så gjør man en ting eller to riktig innenfor filmfaget. Deilig å se på en som er i tilsynelatende zen og koser seg med de små tingene her i livet i en verden hvor alt for mye skjer i altfor raskt tempo. Streber etter det samme selv, og tiden helt alene med en kopp kaffe i sitt rette element - enten det er i garasjen å mekker eller ute i naturen eller hvor enn man trives er ren terapi og lading av kropp og sjel. Måtte le når jeg så den fjernstyrte gressklipperen, det blir ikke mer "boys will be boys" enn det hehe :D Inspirasjon igjen for min del, må legge enda mer fokus på de små detaljene merker jeg - når jeg selv prøver å skape noe på rullen. Og for et fint lite fristed du har, den beliggenheten ser helt nydelig ut. På en slik plass får man ro i sjelen, savner en tur på hytta selv nå merker jeg. Ble en lang kommentar dette her men :) Keep on keeping on og ser frem til neste.

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  3 місяці тому +3

      Takker og bukker. Jeg navigerer litt i historie og formidlings veien framover, og det er ingen tvil om at det blir å komme drypp av alternativt innhold i tiden framover også. Dette, samt alt som omhandler ut i naturen er ting som jeg brenner stort for. Så får vi bare se hvordan jeg klarer å lande den ballen underveis. Hahaha, ja det er liksom noe med å prøve å dra folk med seg og få de til å føle seg som de er der med meg uten at det blir kjedelig eller langtekkelig.
      Jeg har vel siste årene funnet ut hva som betyr mest for meg, små øyeblikk, opplevelser og skildringer i hverdagen som gjør inntrykk. Å kunne få gleden av å dele dette gjennom mitt syn via kamera har også alltid vært en lidenskap som motiverer meg noe helt enormt. Når man da i tillegg får så mange kommentarer og skryt av arbeidet man legger i det, blir det naturligvis ekstra kjekt. Så dette er nok bare begynnelsen på noe jeg blir å drive videre med i mange år framover. Gressklipperen er uten tvil mitt favoritt leketøy for året. Det er egentlig ganske pussig at vi finner såpass ro og glede i å gjøre slike små ting, om det er på hytten, garasjen, i mancaven eller lignende. Takk for hyggelig kommentar, og takk for at du tar deg tid å se innholdet. Mer kommer, mye mer 🙏🏻🎥

I like the Solo fire pit - I have the little "Mesa" - I take it on my bike, sometimes. The only downside to the Solo is no heat out the sides. Great job on the vid TS. Beautiful place. The change is here. Frosty on my side of the world. Mud grips for the mower. Man that's a bad "A" machine. Hydraulic dump for the trimmings. Way cool. You may need a life preserver system if it goes over the edge. Stihl 251. I run several models and have three 250's. Sometimes it's best to lay them on their side oil tank up to slow the leaking. Make a bridge across at an accessible location near the top. You will essentially build a bridge level across wide enough for the mower with an easy uphill grade to and and fro. Hahaha, yeah that is a really bad ass machine, and I absolutely love working with it. It really is a blessing with all this property to cut and maintain. So much easier to hold it nice all year around. I got the stihl 261, same as we use on the firetrucks here in Norway. A incredible saw with that little extra punch in the engine. I actually forgot to check the oil cap after I cleaned it out, but I make sure to follow up on that in an upcoming video. There will be some wood cutting when winter is over again. Need to stack up on firewood again. Hahaha... yeah that rock is really bugging me. I need to get a sledge hammer and beat the crap out of it. It will not move at all. Not seen it, will take a look at the link now. Thank you.
      That is actually a really good idea... there is a really good place I can just make a bridge over. That was actually not bad at all. Ha!! Got me thinking. Thank you so much! Have a great winter you as well mate. Talk again soon, love your comments! really appreciate it. Cheers

    Hi, really good video, I loved learning the preparation you have to do before winter, we have none on the south coast of UK.
    I also have the same chain saw as you and it also leaks lots of oil from the chain reservoir. Now i know what the issue may be…the lid?
    Many thanks and happy new year.

      Thank you sir. Appreciate it. Strange that we live so close but still have a lot of different temperatures. Winter finally hit us and there is 30 cm of snow now. It is a lot of wind and I'm really looking forward to spring again.
      Yeah, the chain is suppose to leak a little, because gravity and the vibrations in the movement of the saw hels lube the chain. But when it is flat and still it should not be a lot. Then it is most likely the lid. Happy New year. 🙌🏻

    I congratulate you for the very nice content you are producing. I would also like to ask you a question. How did you organize the heating in your cabin? I saw that you have a wood stove, do you use other heat sources during the winter?

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  Місяць тому

      Thank you so much Andrew. I have 2 electrical ovens inside the cabin but I mainly use the wood stove to heat it up, and than maintain the heat with electrical ovens when I get the walls and insulation to heat up. But I would say, when the temperature drops bellow zero degrees celcius, you need to have a fire in the morning and evening each day. I might do a video about this and how I arrange the water with the heated cable.

    The timber you stacked should be separated to allow for ventilation, otherwise it could twist as it is drying out. Soft pinewood burn very quickly, you would love some Australian hardwood, burn vey slowly and giver a nice taste to food cooked on it.

      Yeah, but they are only gonna be used for stairs outside, so I'm not that concerned about warping. But I does not cost anything to do it properly so I might crawl under there tomorrow and correct it. Pinewood here in Norway gives a little taste from the smoke, but not much. Here it is more common to use birch for firewood. Never tried anything outside Norways forrest to make firewood of. Here is a lot to learn.

      That is a good point actually. I have never seen a chainsaw not leak some oil. But this was a little bit too much, and it looked like it was coming from the cap. I have inspected the cap or lid for some days now, and it seams to be stopped. So I bet there was some kind of wood pice or something on the O-Ring.
