I found this just trying to search Danish gambit to learn (I'm a newbie) and I have to give all the credit to you Dennis for breaking it down so well.
I've always liked the attacking principles of the Danish Gambit, and for that reason would strong recommend it to beginners trying to kick on to the next level, as it opens up opportunities to perfect skills like discovered skewers, forks, positional or calculated sacrifices and finding good squares for pieces (with the exception of the queen, where most Danish lines go against the usual principle of V-shaped movement to either kingside or queenside). I just don't think it has enough going for it at higher levels as black will usually know at what stage of the gambit that they wish to take their material advantage and start to concentrate on their own game (or indeed to decline it altogether). The end result in such cases is white losing a tempo to achieve something that black was relaxed about letting them achieve.
As black on the other hand I'm very open to off the wall openings at intermediate level, though the ones I like tend to be against 1. d4 rather than 1. e4. The old benoni (1...c5) for instance takes white way out of book very quickly. Would love it if that could be covered at some point as it wasn't on the list of top ten responses to 1. d4.

Is that a joke? It took this dude a minute and a half to explain why you can’t take a pawn on e4 with the queen lined up on the king. This dude is just slow and unorganized, even with the various cuts during simple explanations where he probably took an extra 6 minutes to explain simple ideas.

on minute 23.00 you also can try the queen trap and take on F7 with the bishop check. If the king takes the bishop you take his queen :D sometimes it works

At 14:25, why sacrifice the bishop? Isn't QD5 better threatening mate and forking the knight? What is Blacks response here?Also, at 22:30, after white bishop takes D5, Kf6, isn't the main line Bxf7+, KExf7, QxD8, Bb2+, Qd2, Bxd2, Kxd2? It's a lopsided end game, but I think White can have an ok game.

At least black now has an awesome queen. So just taking the pawn with Bxf7+ followed by Qd5+ and QxN is preferable.
A common trick with these gambits is this idea with defending f7 from mate by playing Ng5, and then when the knight gets captured you free the d8 square for the king with Qxg5

sometimes they chose to ignore Nc6 tho and just go Qe7 from the get go. This doesnt allow the castle cuz of the pawn hanging, what do I do then?

This is the refutation of the Danish Gambit proper, but I have had some success playing a similar line, but with Nf3 and Nc6 inserted. In this line, after d7-d5, White can, instead of taking with the bishop, play exd5, hitting the Nc6. My experience is that White can maintain compensation for the pawns in this line.
Interesting. Black, after c3 in your line, must answer with the immediate ...d5 with equality.
BixenteFabregas Yes, d5 spoils all of White's fun, but that's true of the line without Nf3/Nc6 too.
Btw, aside from the line with taking both pawns & then following with d5, there are also 2 other interesting options for black which unfortunately weren't covered:
Very popular is 3...d5, which should equalize immediately.
And then there's the 3...Qe7!? line which IM Christof Sielecki (ChessExplained on UA-cam) mentioned recently.
(Also, the famous endgame after 1. e4 e5 2. d4 exd4 3. c3 dxc3 4. Bc4 cxb2 5. Bxb2 d5 6. Bxd5 Nf6 7. Bxf7+ Kxf7 8. Qxd8 Bb4+ 9. Qd2 Bxd2+ 10. Nxd2 should at least be mentioned in a Danish Gambit video...)

Oliver Marti Ng5 saves the day. And "removing the guard" of the f7 square with Nxg5 leads to this line
1. Qd5 Ng5! 2. Nxg5 Qxg5 3. Qxf7+ Kd8
Black has managed to activate his queen massively, and you will unfortunately not win a full piece there
Ng5 protecting f7, and when the knight gets captured Qxg5 frees the d8 square is a common trick in these gambit lines

I've been playing the Danish for quite a while, but my main problem with it is black playing d6 and Be6 attacking my white bishop. What do I do against this system?
You can probably just take it since the f lawn has to take and that opens up a diagonal for your queen

At 22:56 you can not play as black Nf6 simply because of Bf7+ , king has to go to e7 due to attack queen , and then you trade queens with better end game!
After Ke7 white should play Ba3+. That would leave black no other choice but to play Kxf7 allowing whites queen Qxd8 without any threat of white losing its queen. Even if black was to play Qd6 blocking check Bxd6+ still only losing one bishop for a queen

When you move Ne4 wouldn't be better to move to Ng4? Then he would take the free piece or move foward and take it, and with the next free move Nf2 to attack the Queen and Rook? If not, why would that be a bad move?

It'd be smart for a 1200 rated. But in such an open game, I'd prefer bishops over knights any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
This comment is really old, but Bf7+ doesn't work since after king takes the bishop on f7 and Q×d8, black can play Bb4+, creating a discovered attack on the queen and winning it on the next move (or whenever it's possible without hanging the bishop on b4)

Along t same line as "maybe trying to castle if playing a beginner" after having moved ones king. Maybe you could also try taking your opponent's queen off t board when he isn't looking . I bet that would be a devastatingly winning tactic if you could get away w it.

Black could just castle and the position would be fine. You can double black's pawns on the kingside if you want, but you just traded your strong bishop and queen for it, essentially removing your attack. Black could also choose to play Bxd2+, forcing white to lose his castling rights when he moves or takes the bishop. In the end, black could safely say that they are ahead in pawns and that white has no real compensation anymore
At 23:10 he moves knight to C3, why not attack e7 pawn with bishop; force check and still safe from king countertake due to the exposed queen check?

I prefer the Alhekine Variation of the Danish Gambit where white plays 4. Nxc3 instead of allowing a third pawn capture. Not as rapid of development but safer.
This gambit is not for the safe. It is to maximize risk, to maximize reward. Go out and get some checkmates
noooo minute 19.20 is a mutttttch better move!!!!!! directly sacrifice your lightsquare bishop on F7 with check, he has to take with his king and you follow up with Queen on B3 check and win the darksquare bishop back!

hmm I don't really like the lecture. I have no idea why the lines were chosen for black. queen on e7 seem stupid to play with the king not castleing right after it. wouldn't the best interest of black be to castle on the queenside and force white to trade their bishops?

7. Bxf7+ Kxf7 8. Qxd8 Bb4+ regains the queen, going into an opposite coloured bishop ending which is considered very slightly better for black, as it's easier for him to advance his majority on the q-side than it is for white on the k-side.

Again, after QxQ, Bb4+ and the white queen is either taken by the rook, or if it block on d2, is taken by the checking bishop.
At 14:41, instead of the "thematic sacrifice" of Bxf7+, try instead Qd5, threatening Qxf7# on the next move. This wins the knight on e4 outright.
PS: I'm not familiar with these lines, so if there's a refutation or a positional reason not to do that, I don't know it.
Good question; I thought the same thing. Qd5 is probably what I would play seeing the position for the first time - but there is a way out for Black. 8...Ng5 saves the knight and protects the f7 square. White will play 9.Nxg5, the idea clearly being that Black doesn't have time to recapture with the Queen because then Qxf7+ is a good position for White. However, Black can play 9...Bb4+ first, then take the knight, and the game is more or less even.
I am a 1200 and using this opening I drew against a 1600

You certainly know these already but if you don't, you might want to look at the Goering Gambit in the Scotch gambit ; and the Jerome Gambit as well
In the Goering Gambit, you can get an improved Danish gambit because you are allowed to castle kingside
1 e4 e5, 2 Nf3 Nc6, 3 d4 exd4, 4 Bc4 Bb4, 5 c3 dxc3, 6 O-O cxb2, 7 Bxb2
The Jerome Gambit is way more suspicious and way crazier than the Danish (yes it is possible)
